I have now finished nine of these socks.
Could I be making an Advent calendar?
Are these a birthday present for my son Greg whose birthday is December 9th?
Why am I knitting single socks instead of pairs?
Time will tell!

I just finished another pair of socks. I decided it might be fun to use some of the leftovers from other pairs of socks.
I don’t make my legs of my socks as long as most people do so I always have a lot left.
I completely used up the leftovers from 4 pair and started on the 5th with the blue.
I am not really excited about them as I thought I would be.
I have enough sock yarn for maybe 20 or more pair so why am I using leftovers? Beats me!
I am going to see if I can come up with some other way to use leftover sock yarns.
I’m ready to knit another pair that is ALL one color!
I love the names Emily Parson chooses for her hand dyed sock yarns.
This coloration would suggest a Vintage Kitchen to anyone who sees it in person.
My colors are as accurate as I could get.
This was a fun one to knit and I think the name had something to do with it. I’m not a vintage kitchen person but I love when others do a vintage kitchen.
I’m more a Scandinavian clean lines person with antiques thrown in for interest.
I’m glad to have another pair of completed socks finished as out weather has changed to sock wearing temperatures.
This is another pair of socks that just needed minor finishing. I knit several pair in lighter colors to wear when I am in Florida.
Of course the yarn is Sophie’s Toes from Emily Parson.
NO, I don’t work for her or receive a commission. I just love her yarn and the colorations. I probably have enough yarn for 20 more pair. I just couldn’t help myself. She also has the cleverest names for her colors.
These are the socks I am currently working on. I’m almost ready to shape the toes on both of them.
I prefer knitting socks on 4 double pointed needles. I have learned I am more successful if I knit two at the same time alternating between them.
WHY?
Because my gauge can vary and this way I get two very close to identical socks!
The yarn is the color Crushed Velvet from Emily Parson’s Sophie’s Toes Sock yarn.
I love the names she chooses – so creative and so spot on!
Maybe I could hire her to name my quilts?
I just finished this pair of warm wool socks.
The hand dyed yarn is Sophie’s Toes by Emily Parson.
The color is Christmas Lights. It sure reminds me of the colors of the lights on our family tree when I was a child.
I have now knit quite a few pair of socks with this yarn and I absolutely love it - to knit and to wear.
I like a fine knit so I use Size 0 bamboo needles to knit socks. I think that is why it takes me so long to knit a pair.
Sometime today I will be casting on another sock.
And for those of you who are wondering…..I shipped my last eBay items to the happy buyers today. It was a lot of fun and a lot of work selling the clothes on eBay, but it is now time to move on. My closets are emptier, but not empty!
I work in my studio to photograph and sell. It is now starting to look like my art/quilting studio again. Yes, still a ways to go, but everything takes time.
