Gossip in the Garden!

At last we have finally finished decorating! I've moaned constantly about it but I must admit it looks lovely and clean and fresh, ready for when we have visitors this summer.  Only problem is it makes our own bedroom look in need of decorating but not right now!!

I didn't post last week, I really had nothing to show but this week I have managed to finish the second panel for Gossip in the Garden and I must admit I am really pleased with how its turned out (still not convinced about the teacup on the left hand side but I am learning to live with it and if it really starts to bug me I can always change it!)

And the two completed blocks together (they aren't positioned next to each other in the finished quilt though)

On Sunday I am going to start auditioning fabrics for the next panel and I will link up with Kathy over on her blog for some slow Sunday stitching!  Do take a look at what others are working on at the moment.

Cross stitch, tapestry and Happy Easter

The weather continues to be lovely, real t shirt days!  I haven't got a lot to show this week because we have started to decorate our spare bedroom (we always get visitors when the weather turns nice!)  But yesterday rather than scraping wall paper we decided to have a walk around some lovely gardens about 40mins drive from us.  The azaleas are just starting to flower, we probably need to give them another 2 weeks.  But on our walk we spotted this little owl in a tree! (no its not real!)

I decided to get out my bird house tapestry.  It's a nice project to sit in the garden with and hasn't seen the light of day since last summer.  I know I am going to get bored with stitching the background so decided to make a start - just the bit in the bottom left hand corner and that took me several hours!
I also managed to add another flower to my Friends cross stitch.
I've got Faye, her husband and Amber coming for lunch today so I'm off to get the roast in the oven, so I probably won't get any sewing done today! But have a lovely day what ever you are doing.
Happy Easter.

Bags, cross stich and needle book!

Saturday was glorious, so I spent quite a bit of time in the garden and unfortunately I seem to be paying for all my hard work today, so despite it shaping up to be another nice day I am going to spend some time doing some slow Sunday stitching!  But first I have two finishes to share.

On Monday it was my craft group and we were making bags for a charity called Sewpowerful based in Zambia.

As you can see we managed to finish seven bags. Mine is the blue spotty bag on the left.
I've also done a little more cross stitch on my cotton and twine project.
My second finish however is a project that has been waiting to be made for a couple of years and for some unknown reason I felt inspired to make it this week!  This little felt needle book comes from the same lady who has designed the 12 days of Christmas felt ornaments that I made a couple of years ago and am making again for Amber (one a year for the next 12 years!!) (mmmcrafts).  Her instructions are excellent and the results from her patterns are always very pleasing!

Hop on over to look at what other people are sewing today (link at top!)

Gossip in the garden, bunnies and Tree Peeps!

Oh my word what a difference a week makes!  We have gone from glorious sunshine to arctic conditions.  Yes we've had sleet and hailstones in abundance and boy is it cold!  On a positive note we have managed to avoid covid and Faye and Amber went home on Thursday.  Which meant DH and I spent two days cleaning the house (we didn't do any housework for 10 days!) we spent everyday playing and entertaining Amber!  I did do a little sewing though!

A few more pieces were added to Gossip in the Garden.  I'm not sure about the last tea cup I've added?  The colour is right but the other two cups are a small print and I'm not loving the large single motif.  I will live with it for a few more days and if necessary it will come off!

I also finished the Tilda Easter bunny.  To add to the one I made last year.
They have joined my Easter display on the fireplace.  Along with the Tree Peeps that Faye bought me for Mothers Day!
I am linking up with Kathy for some slow Sunday stitching.  Hop on over and take a look!
