Slow Sunday stitching

I must admit I am struggling with the new blogger somewhat!  I was away last week in the motorhome and tried to post using my iPad but I could post a title but nothing else......very frustrating!  I worked on little bits of sewing while away but spent a lot of time reading instead, which I really enjoyed.  There is something nice about being in the motorhome when it is pouring with rain (and it did rain rather a lot) reading a book and knowing we didn't need to go out - unless Lola needed a wee of course!

I am currently working on putting an edge on my travel EPP project.  My plan is to add a wide border and attach it following the points of the stars (my guess is I will have to do that by hand?) But I also have no idea what colour border to use.  But I am a little way from that point as yet and then of course should I hand quilt it of machine?

I have also put a few more rows on the jumper I am knitting for Faye.
I am linking up to Kathy's blog for some slow Sunday stitching.  I haven't quite mastered the link side of the new blogger yet but the button on the side bar will get you to the right place.  Take a look it is always worth it!  Have a good day!

EPP

After last weeks disaster with placing the bird four rows too low I am back up and running!  I am going to use this months to celebrate my ruby wedding anniversary (hence lots of red going on this month).  I will at some stage add our wedding date and year but as yet Im not sure what colour threat I am going to use for the initials.  The other part to August is a branch nearly identical to the one already stitched above, so I might add something different in its place.

I have been inspired by Karen's hexies and decided to dig out my 60 degree star travel quilt.  I completed another row and have put together a further row which I plan to attach this afternoon (most of the stars where done I just needed to finish them off).  I've also cut up a pile of diamonds to start filling the gaps around the edge and at the bottom.  It won't be a huge quilt but it has been in the making several years so I am ready to see it finished.  I am linking up to Kathy's blog for some slow Sunday stitching so hop on over and take a look!

Knitting and fabric

Faye and I went fabric shopping yesterday.  I've turned this fabric into a table cloth (a request was made for it to be elasticated so fingers crossed it will fit the round table ok) and then I thought I would make four napkins to complement it.

And this fabric is now two masks for Faye
It is hard to believe considering the heat wave that is currently hitting the south of England at the moment but I have been knitting! Its a lovely chunky wool but has 2 different cable patterns going on at the same time....one is six row repeat and the other is 32 row repeat. Lets just say there has been considerable swearing going on and some ripping back. But I think I have at last got the hang of it!!

I have done a little cross stitch on the linen and thread project but yesterday I discovered I had put the bird four rows too low, so that had to be ripped out and I don't have the energy to look at it again at the moment!  It was my own fault I got a bit big headed yesterday and announced I hadn't made any errors on this project - that will teach me won't it!!!!

Slow Sunday stitching

I've been doing little bits on the roof of the bird house over the past week.  There are a lot of colour changes so it does take time, but its those frequent colour changes that make it so gorgeous!  As usual I have too many projects on the go but for my SLOW SUNDAY STITCHING I will probably do some of the Linen and Thread stitch a long which has just published Augusts section.

Hop on over to Kathy's blog to take a look at what others are stitching today.
