60 degree diamonds

I don't have a lot to show for two weeks worth of sewing because two weeks ago I started working part time in a garden centre coffee shop! And it's all been a bit of a shock to the system.....it's been 18 months since I last worked! But it's good fun, the people are really nice and it is only until Christmas.

I have done a few more diamonds and started to sew together a second group of stars. Slow progress but some progress is better, I guess than no progress.

60 degree diamonds

Yesterday we finally got a good down pour of rain. We needed it so much. Unfortunately it was timed with me loading the car up with garden waste to take to the council tip! Still never mind, that's a job done for another week! Today there is a chill in the air (not an unpleasant chill after the heat we've had) but I noticed when I walked the dog through the wood this morning how many leaves are already on the ground - Autumn is on its way!

Last Sunday I did some more 60 degree diamonds for Slow Sunday Stitching and I think this week I may well start joining them together. My EPP bible 'Quilting on the Go' suggests doing that every eight stars. That way it frees up more templates. There could of course be a flaw in that plan because at the moment I'm picking out my all time favourite fabrics which means I might be left with the ones I'm not quite so in love with!

The binding also went onto the little sewing kit and I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

Tomorrow I will link up with Kathy's blog for Slow Sunday Stitching to see what other people have been sewing!

Have a nice day.
