Royal Lily tutorial

Hello All,

I am back with a tutorial for a lily that I made in my post.

I have ever since had people ask me how to make it, so here goes. It is 12:30 am here, so I won't write much text but I hope things will be clear from the images. Maybe, I will edit the text a bit later :-)

And this is my entry to Anything But a Card challenge and Make it Dimensional challenge! :-) I don't even know if I qualify! :)

Take a quill pill challenge

Hello,

I came across the Quill Pill challenge and well, I had the components ready with me! I love making different flowers with colour combinations I have, and as luck would have it, I had them all on hand! :-) Here is my entry to the challenge :-)

There are so many firsts with this challenge! I have used a fringed flower in any project (so far) for the first time! I never seem to have confidence with it, somehow. The purple royal flower in the centre is a first as well which I learnt from Amna's video tutorial. :-) I owe so much to the online quilling community! :-) My fringing is largely inspired by Inna's enviable blog entries. I had my Rangolis in my head when I made these, THAT is one thing I so miss here - making Rangolis! And with festive season around, my heart literally aches! :-(

Happy Quilling

PS: If my posts inspire you to create something on similar lines, I feel highly flattered. But please, do respect the effort I take in conceptualizing and executing, please give a direct link to my work when you are inspired by mine. Thanks for understanding........:-)

Quilly Nilly Lily!

Hello All,

When I got this order for a simple card, I thought ok, let me try something new. I hadn't made lilies ever before and trying my hand at them was exciting. It's actually much more fun when the people who order state their 'flexible' and 'inflexible' requirements. I knew I had to quill white lilies but otherwise, I had the freedom to weave a pattern around it.

I wanted to try the lilies Nelika had made in her post. I didn't want the white to remain utterly white, so I sketched little yellow and green at the base of the petals. I promise, I will post a tutorial to this one soon, it is SO simple, everyone ought to try it!!!!! I made a few leaves and multi-colour scrolls (nothing like the ones Suganthi and Nelika make though, hehe) to complete the ensemble.

And here goes!

Details:

Base: 250 gsm off white card paper
Oval: 80 gsm printing paper with the greenish oval and wish printed on it
Lily: 200 gsm white scrapbooking paper
Leaves: 80 and 120 gsm green shades paper
Scrolls: 120 gsm quilling paper from www.skapamer.se

Happy Quilling :-)

Quilled Frog Pond

And well, here comes my first (informal) professional work.........a quilled pond. I love the way it is turning out. I like the frog, the lilies, the insects (though I must admit they look rather large to me!).........the progress........

I will post a final picture once I am through with making the entire piece :-)
