Spellbinders Guest Post | Candlewick Classics Collection by Becca Feeken

Hello, everyone!
I am excited and honoured to be guest designing on the Spellbinders blog today! I am here to share some projects that I’ve made with the absolutely delightful Candlewick Classics Collection by Becca Feeken.

The Candlewick Classics Collection is a perfect addition to the Candlewick Sampler Collection by Becca Feeken. Mix and match between the two for an amazing collaboration! The inspiration comes from the Candlewick embroidery design, a type of elegant white-on-white embroidery with its hints of dotted motifs and knots. Add them to your etched die collection!

I have three cards to share with you today using the Candlewick Classics collection, so let's get started!

The gorgeous doily was my inspiration behind creating this card. I wanted to design my card in such a way that the doily remains the highlight of my design. I die cut the Nestabilities Doily Round Etched Dies using my
Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine from White Cardstock. I did not pierce out all the intricate bits from the doily and let them be as is because I found the doily looked pretty even this way. I adhered this doily on a circle die cut from patterned paper.

The doily added a nice, feminine touch to my card, and I did not want to use too many embellishments which would cover up the design, so I simply die cut a circle from the Nestabilities Candlewick Circles Etched Dies and adhered it over the doily using foam dots for dimension. I stamped my sentiment in the centre of this circle and added white pearls all around the circle frame for added interest.

For embellishing my card, I used a pink poppy flower along with coordinating rose buds, mini roses, and fillers. I used the Candlewick Rosebud Etched Dies to add foliage to my card.

I added some bows of white satin ribbon to this arrangement and mounted the panel to a foiled patterned paper, which was then adhered to a top-folding card base made from Pearlescent White Cardstock.

The doily border is such an elegant die design and I decided to use it to create the background for my card. I die cut the Shapeabilities Doily Border Etched Dies twice from Gold Mirror Cardstock and twice from White Cardstock. I adhered them all on my card panel using the Journey Craft Glue.  Next, I die cut the delicate squares from the Nestabilities Candlewick Squares Etched Dies from White Cardstock and layered them to create a frame.

I stamped my sentiment on another square die cut to create the focal for my card. I created a rose using the Candlewick Rosebud Etched Dies and also die cut the leaves and foliage from the same die set. The flower petals were coloured using the Bubble Gum True Color Fusion Ink Pad while the leaves were coloured using the Sweet Pear True Color Fusion Ink Pad. I added some additional flowers and fillers to complete my arrangement. I mounted this panel to a top-folding blush card base.

This card has tons of layering and I really enjoyed creating it. I started by die cutting the rounded corners from Gold Mirror Cardstock and Cream Cardstock along with White Fun Foam. I adhered the die cuts in a way that the gold would peek through from the sides giving it a regal look. Then, I die cut a circle from another piece of Cream Cardstock using the Nestabilities Candlewick Circles Etched Dies. I adhered another die cut in the centre to create the focal for my card.

Once the basic framework of the card was done, I started working on the embellishments for my card. I added a pink anemone and several small filler flowers and foliage to create my floral cluster. I also tucked in some die cut vines, mini roses, and rose buds to complete my arrangement. I added a small sentiment tag below this arrangement and popped it on the panel using foam dots.

I matted this panel to another panel of Gold Mirror Cardstock, then a patterned paper, and lastly, Cream Cardstock. This was then adhered to a top-folding card base.

Other Supplies:
Neenah Solar White 110 LB cardstock, Cream Linen Textured 12 x 12 Cardstock, Light Pink 12 X 12 Cardstock, White Pearlescent 12 X 12 Cardstock, Iris 270 GSM Cardstock, White Fun Foam; Pattern Papers: Papericious 'The Wedding' Collection, DCWV Blush Collection; Inks: Versafine Onyx Black Ink Pad; Adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam Squares, Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue, Double Sided Foam Tape, Mini Glue Gun; McGill Inc. Paper Blossoms Tool kit, Micro Roses, Pollens, Rose Buds, White Satin Ribbon, Pearls.

I hope you loved the Candlewick Classics Collection and my cards using them! These dies are truly exquisite and a must have in your stash. If you would like to see more of my work using Spellbinders dies, do follow my Instagram page.

You are amazing!

Hello everyone!
I have a card to share today which I made for the Papericious July Challenge. We have a Moodboard challenge for you this time to be inspired with. You can check out all the details HERE on the Papericious blog. Here's my card inspired by it.

(I was inspired by the colours as well as the white mulberry flowers, the woodgrain background and the mesh from the Moodboard)

I have used the Papericious - My Golden Garden paper for the base, then layered it with the Papericious Wooden collection and finally used the Papericious Infinity Collection papers for die-cutting that doily.
The flowers are from my stash and I have added some Stickles on them for adding some shimmer. The leaves have been colored using Inka Gold which were die-cut from a Sizzix die. The bow is  made using Creme Seam Binding Ribbon. The hat-pins are from my stash again.

I have added a crotchet lace and the Martha Stewart Doily Lace punched border for layering. The sentiment is from the Altenew - Sentiments & Quotes set which has been heat-embossed using Ranger Gold Tinsel Embossing powder. I added a small butterfly from Martha Stewart to finish off my card!

I'm entering my card in the Lulupu - July Sketch Challenge ( I have flipped the sketch upside down) , Peek-a-Boo Designs - Layers Challenge, Card-Mania - Lace and Pearls, Happy Little Stampers - Anything  goes with Dies

I hope you liked my card. Please do leave me your comments/suggestions. I love hearing from you :)

An Altered hoop and a Tag !

Hello, everyone!
Today I have two projects to share with you all. These projects were created for the Papericious blog to introduce the new Adhesive buttons/flairs that have been released this month. I really enjoyed using these buttons on my projects. :)

So, here's a look at what I created using these buttons. The first one is an altered hoop and the second one is a Mixed media tag!

For this hoop, I have used the Pattern Papers from the Papericious Grey Bloom collection and the Wooden Collection. The pink flowers and the leaves are fussy cut from the Grey Bloom collection paper and mounted on square foams for dimension. As you can see, I have used these buttons for the centre of my bow as well as a part of my sentiment.  These make very pretty centres and look great on cards, layouts and mixed media projects!

Here are few of the close ups!

I am entering my altered Hoop for the PPS challenge : Inspired by a song. I was inspired by THIS song from Francesca Battistelli.

Moving on to my Mixed Media tag :

I first created a burlap flower using the Tim Holtz Tattered florals die and layered it with some tulle and fabric cotton laces and finished it off with an adhesive button. Isn't it gorgeous??
I have created the background of the the tag using embossing paste and a stencil from Tim Holtz with Distress Stain Sprays.

I am entering this tag in the Stamploration Mixed Media Challenge.

Thank you for your time and have a nice day everyone! Please do not forget to leave your comments/suggestions. I love to get feedback from you :)

You are awesome!

Hello everyone!
I am back again to share a shabby-chic card with you all. Love this style of card making and can't stay away from it for long. :P
Recently, I have been getting quite involved with the mixed media trend and I guess my card does incorporate a bit of Mixed media this time around! Here's a look at what I have created :

The base of my card has been made using three different patterned papers. The light pink striped pattern paper is from Graphic 45, followed by the blue one from Prima Marketing Cigar Box paper pad and finally the alpha one from Prima Marketing Coffee Break Paper pad.

The small butterflies were paper pieced from Prima Marketing Forever Green paper pad. For the base of my floral arrangement, I have used a Prima Marketing Doily Die #1 and popped it up on foam dots and colored with Distress ink- Tattered Rose.

I have created a shabby-chic card so to create the look, I have distressed all the papers using a paper distressing tool and have inked all the edges of the papers with Distress ink- Tattered Rose. The flowers are all from my stash and I have Gesso-ed the edges of the flowers using Heidi Swapp Color Shine- Tropicana Teal Mist mixed with Gesso and painted using a paint brush to give that light blue colour to the flowers. The Gesso gives the flower a very nice texture and colour!

The sentiment has been stamped and paper-pieced and popped up on foam dots to give that raised look. I have used a lot of rhinestones on my card to add the bling factor to it. :D

Hope you all like it.

Supplies used :
Base cardstock- Campap and Fabriano Brustro.
Dies- Prima Marketing Doily Die #1.
Patterns papers - Graphic 45 (RAK from Piali), Prima Marketing A4 Cigar Box Secrets paper pad. Prima Marketing Forever Green 6 by 6 paper pad,  Prima Marketing Coffee Break Journaling Notecards - 4 X 6.
Flowers- Stash and few were RAK from Priya.
Stamps- Technique Tuesday Incredible stamp set.
Inks- Versafine Onyx Black ink pad, Distress ink- Tattered Rose.
Heidi Swapp Color Shine- Tropicana Teal Mist, Lindys Stamp Gang Hottie Pattotie Mists. (Used to colour the flowers).

Hi Friends,
I am so happy to share that i have been invited to do a GD post at LESSology for their current Challenge Are you a Cover Girl!....For this challenge you can get creative with covers by making the cover of  a box, a jar ,a book etc...Totally up to you and use one upcycled item in your project!...So I decided that I would go with the cover of a box..And here's what I come up with :-

And this is how it looks when it is opened :-

And a few different views :-

This is  the box looks before it was upcycled :-

To upcycle this box I first peeled out the original paper then I Mod Podged it with plain Tissue paper... To do this I took plain white tissue paper and covered the box entirely with it and coated it with Mod Podge...This helped to stick the tissue paper thoroughly and also gave a nice texture..Then I painted the box in a light creme color both  inside and outside and then I measured up the sides, bottom and top and cut out my pattern paper, distressed the edges using Scattered Straw Distress ink and glued it..Then I embellished with various dies ,ribbons and flowers!...

Hi Friends,
Doing a quick post today as I wanted to share a card I have made for this time's Tuesday Trigger at the Moxie Fab World ...Cath has  put up an very beautiful inspiration picture for this time's trigger and the moment I saw it I wanted to give it a try ...but have ended up doing it at the last minute though :( !!.... Just Have a look at their inspiration picture to know what I am talking about :

Isn't it just gorgeous :) ...Have a look at my card based on this inspiration !

I have handcut the heart and added a slight shimmer to the edges and stamped the X's using Fiskars alphabet stamps in two colors ..Then die cut a window and embossed the white panel using Marraine designables folder and have scored the blue  background   paper  behind using a score board to reflect the wood grain in the chair  in the inspiration  picture... Lastly stamped the sentiment with distress ink   and added  an mulberry flower to complete the card:) ...Making a CAS card after ages ...But I felt this inspiration would not look good with layer's that I generally use in my cards ..And believe me it was tough restraining myself from adding more embellies here :)
