Thrift Store vs. Antique Store
I have a thrifting win to share with you today!
This is Denver's largest antique mall. It's over 50,000 square feet and has almost 300 dealers. I can always find some good Pyrex here, but the prices aren't cheap!
I stopped there today to hunt for Christmas gifts for my antique-loving friends, and while I was there I saw this {I always see a few sets of these when I'm there}:
A complete primary fridgie set for $75.00.
This is a very typical price for antique stores, I've found.
But today was a WIN for me, because before I stopped in the antique mall, I ran down the street to Savers. I have a problem with passing a thrift store, I HAVE to stop in to see what I might find.
I'm sure some of you can relate...
Anyway, I immediately checked the "Pyrex shelf" as I always do first thing when I enter a thrift store. Sadly, there was no Pyrex in kitchen ware today.
BUT, when I turned the corner and went down the knick-knacks aisle,
I FOUND THIS!
Sure, it was one red 501 short of a full set, but I didn't care! I snatched them up and ran for the registers to make them officially mine.
They even have the old style lids:
So this is an old set--which made it even more exciting when I got them home, washed them, and inspected them to find...
They are mint! Not a untensil scratch, not a chip to be found. Even the corners show no wear whatsoever:And now, at the risk of making you all completely green with envy,
check out these prices!!!
That's right.
$0.99 for the 501.
$1.99 for the 502
$2.99 for the 503.
GET OUT!
I could kiss the person who priced these.
So that's my major win.
The antique mall down the street wanted $75.00 {including the 2nd red 501} but I paid a whopping $6 for my happy little set.
And we all lived happily ever after...
The End.

Spring Cleaning is certainly working in my favor! I am finding more pyrex than I can keep up with!
Hope you found some good things over the weekend!

this past weekend's pyrex finds.
I had an awesome, thrifty weekend.
I got this set for THREE DOLLARS!
YES!
snowflake space saver 2 quart casserole for $8
butterprint fridgie for $5.
I hope the good luck lasts, I'm hitting up a new (to me) flea market this Saturday :)
To see the other things I found, check out my blog post, here.
Find anything good lately?

Snowflakes in May!
Found this beautiful aqua and white snowflake divided casserole dish today at GW for $2.99 and snatched it up to add to our collection! Hubby loved it too - he's always so supportive of my crazy Pyrex-ia!
Picked up this set of four Pyrex Spring Blossom/Crazy Daisy mugs this weekend while rummaging. Available for trade through my Flickr account, as we already have this pattern and all of the place settings/etc. These are the milkglass mugs with the Pyrex stamp on the bottom (not the Corelle coordinates).
The next two items I'm hoping someone can help me with pattern names.
These are two large Pyrex milkglass mugs with D-handles with a green leafy floral design. Anyone able to name it?
And then there's this 043 oval casserole in bright yellow. Not sure what line it goes with? Daisy maybe? I bought it because I need the lid for a snowflake casserole of the same size in my collection that's missing this lid...
Gotta love all the pretty colors!

Gonna be a bright, sunshiney day...
Even though it's overcast and rainy outside!
My dear mother found this thrifting and I was so tickled!! I think it's a fridgie, but there was no lid. That's fine because it's in such wonderful shape and I think it's too cute!! So another fun piece to add to my collection. It makes me smile and think of sunshine- what could be better!
PS- Can someone please tell me what this is "officially" called? :) Is it a fridgie? Still learning! It's a 503, on the bottom. Thanks :)

Newbie to the Collective!
Hi there, this is my first post to the Pyrex Collective II. I've been following (and drooling) all of the gorgeous pieces for quite a while now and I finally decided it was time to join you!
My name is Tara and I blog over at Scarborough Seashells.
For my first post I decided to share with you some of my most recent aquisistions.
These are currently the pieces I have waiting to find a home in my quickly shrinking cupboards. The pieces were all found over the last two weekends.
Promotional seemed to be the word of the day yesterday. I'd never seen any of these patterns before, so I promptly came home and hit up Pyrex Love to see what I could learn about them.
I found these two 045 2 1/2 qt. Golden Grapes(?) oval casseroles. ($5 for the lidded one, $4 for the non lidded)
The 575-B 2 qt. Golden Pine rectangle casserole WITH it's gold leafed cover. ($5)
This 043 1 1/2 qt. oval casserole which I think is called "Bramble". ($4) No lid and some paint scratches, but as you can see by my curtains in the background, a perfect match for my diningroom.
This Spring Blossom (Pyrex by Corning) butter tub- which had no lid and I definitely want the lid so I will have to be on the lookout! ($3)
And this tiny yellow bowl ($2), which reminds me of some of the larger hostess pieces I've seen, but I've no idea to which set it belongs. Any guesses?
If I've ID'd anything incorrectly, please let me know! I posted more photos of some other recent finds on my blog if you are interested in checking them out. Nice to meet all of you!
