Alpha Better Hologram

A big welcome to all of my new followers that found me through girlscene or my giveaway, thanks for following me! Today I have a very pretty layering mani for you guys. I showed you this polish a little while ago and since everyone really liked it I decided to swatch my other Shaka polish (Hologram Nude) as well. Because these holos are not very opaque I decided to layer it over two coats of Essence - Alpha Better Gamma (wich i'll show in the end of this post). Here's the final look!

more sunlight, yay! no flash.

a bit blurry (sparkles!), no flash.

Sem-kittypic!

I love holographics. This is just a perfect pretty pinky polish. In normal light only a little bit of the holographic rainbow is visible, but in sunlight...wow! Such a pretty effect.
So what I did was apply two layers of Shaka - Hologram Nude over two layers of Essence - Alpha Better Gamma from the Class of 2013 LE. Here's a picture of that one on it's own:
daylight, no flash.

another Sem-kittypic!

ABG is a very cute salmony pink, really girly! When I saw this one at the store I immediately knew I wanted it because I don't have any polishes like this one and erhm well I'm an addict..woops. Anyways, I really like the colour of this polish because it's just sooo cuuuute :D

MAX - Rouge with China Glaze - Stone Cold

A nail post, yay! Today I have a very fashionable and fall-proof mani for you guys :D I saw THIS post on Lucy's Stash and I absolutely loved the colour combination so I tried to change it up and bit aaaand here's my result:

daylight, with flash.

daylight, no flash (colour accurate)

Luna-kittypic!

Mila-kittypic!

So as a base I used 2 coats of MAX - Rouge, a jelly dark red. These polishes only cost about 50 cents and the quality is great so I love these! Then I used tape to create the little triangles with China Glaze - Stone Cold from the Hungergames collection, a very pretty matt polish. After all of this had dried I used a thick layer of topcoat and voilà, all done! I love the result. It's like a half moon mani...only with a triangle! Ofcourse, it's not perfect but this is actually the first time I tried a mani created with scotch tape. Anyways, if you want to try this out and post it on your blog too, please link Lucy for the wonderfull idea :D

Fly the Hologram Sky

Hello everyone! In my last post I showed you the polishes I bought in Italy, and today I made a little combo with two of them. First I applied 3 coats of Deborah Milano - Fly High, then 2 coats of Shaka - Hologram Sky.

kittypicsss!

Isn't that amazing? The holographic effect is soooo bright, but ofcourse not quite a bright as GOSH - Holographic! I am loving this combo.
Here's a little pic of Fly High on it's own:
daylight, no flash.

Luna-kittypic!

This combo worked out great imo, the colours work perfect together. Shaka - Hologram Sky is really sheer and not that holographic when you apply it over your nude nails, but with a bright basecolour..KABOOM!
Today I found the new Essence bottles in my local drugstore and bought 2 of them, I simply couldn't resist buying these:
06 cookies & cream (from the nude glam collection) and 120 cookie love (colour & go)

See how I stayed in the cookietheme there? LOL!

Superstar - SoHo Chic

Hellooo! Again, I'm really sorry for not posting this week.. It used to be so easy to make blogposts but I've actually pretty much swatched all of the polishes I have now and I find it harder and harder to make good posts for you, all my freaking' 233 amazing followers! I think I'm just going to go from 2 posts a week to 1 post a week because of that reason.. I feel really, really bad about it but there's just nothing I can do about it :( I've been so busy witch school and work and all that stuff that I just don't have time to do my nails and make pictures, and when I do have time it takes me ages to find a polish or a combination I can make... So, I'm going to do my best to keep posting, and maybe some weeks I will have 2 posts for you and I am definitely going to try to just post those 2, but for now it'll be just one and maybe some kitty-updates... (I have some kittynews for you at the end of this post!)

Today I'm going to show you a polish that I won in a giveaway by Lucy and I have actually used this polish before, but as a stamping polish in this post. Now I just applied 2 coats and no topcoat. SoHo Chic is a light pink metallic foil. Purrrretty!

close-up!

in sunlight, no flash.

yaaaaaawn - kittypic!

As you can see, a very pretty, shimmery pink foil. I really like foils, and especially this one. It looks bad-ass and elegant at the same time, depending on what you wear with it!
On to the kitty-news! We have finally decided on what the names for our new kitties (click!) will be. But....I'm not going to tell you until we have new pictures. And yes, those pictures will be on my blog soon since we're visiting them this Tuesday :D

Catrice Million Styles - Return Of Space Cowboys

Hello cuties! Today I rushed my butt to the Kruidvat to get some of the Million Styles polishes from Catrice, and found the two I wanted :D I got Shake It! Flake It! and Return Of Space Cowboys, wich I will be showing you today. It's a duochrome turquoise glitter and I applied 1 coat over my favourite black, MAX - Black.
normal daylight, not too sunny (as usual), no flash.

a bit moven, sorry, with flash.

kittypic! purrrr...

I LOVE THIS. It's all pretty and blue and duochrome and wiiiiiiii! The base is a dark gray jelly and it contains silver and blue glass flecks. Isn't that amazing? Drying time wasn't amazing but it wasn't too bad.. We'll see about the removal with this one, I hope I'll be able to get it all off haha!
So, what do you think? Do you own any of the Million Styles topcoats?

Fuchsia and Endurance

Happy valentines daaaaay! My valentines day was rather boring, I didn't get anything and nothing really happened as usual. For my mani I used two polishes I got from Lucy and layered them. For the base I used Barry M - Fuchsia and it took me two coats to get it opaque:

daylight, no flash.

normal light, with flash.

In the first picture it looks at lot like a cotton-candy-pink but it's a bit more purple in real. After this, I applied 2 coats of China Glaze - Endurance, a sheer pink-glass-fleck-shimmer.

daylight, no flash.

close-up in daylight, no flash. GLASS FLECKS!

kittypic!

Unfortunately this took ages to dry and before it could dry completely I messed it up by going to work. Yeah, sucks.. Anyway, back to when it still looked pretty. I like the glass flecks and the combination of these two, but I guess I'm just not a pink-girly-girl. I can't get used to it, it's so not me, you know?

So, did you get anything voor valentines day?

Moustache Mani Monday!

Hey guys! I saw this post (http://www.thetracefacephiles.com/2011/11/moustache-mani-monday.html) and knew I just had to do it :D I used Essence - Can't Cheat On Me as the basecolour and then added moustaches with MAX - Black..

kittypic!

So.. I kinda failed making the moustaches but well, it still looks quite cute right? :D I'll also send this picture to Traci so she can post it next monday!

Here are two pictures of Essence - Can't Cheat On Me without the moustaches.. It took me 3 coats to get this polish opaque.

normal light, with flash.

in shadow, with flash.

Prettyyyyyy! Such a shame it has been discontinued..

Will you grow a moustache this Movember?

Catrice - New York (Big City Life LE)

Last week I went to our local drugstore and noticed they had the Catrice Big City Life LE! Except for the palettes, wich I was pretty bummed about because I wanted to buy the Berlin palette. Anyway, I only bought one nailpolish, New York. It's a blue-ish grey polish and very pretty! For these pictures I applied 2 coats and no topcoat.

just a quick bottle pic, isn't it ADORABLE?

normal light, with flash.

normal light, no flash.

kittypic!

I tried to KONAD it with a light silver and the flower pattern from M61 but it didn't really show up.. Here's a paw-pic to show you how it looked (with flash).

Isn't that last picture cute? I love it <3
Application was good, but was it me or are the brushes of the nailpolishes different from the normal Catrice polishes?
Edit: I just checked, the brush is definitely different. It's a lot more short and thin than the normal ones! It didn't make the application amazing, but it wasn't awfull or anything.
Do you own any of the Catrice Big City Life LE polishes?

PS. Amazing news! I won the "Birthday giveaway" from http://www.lucysstash.com :D I'll write a blogpost about the prize as soon as I get it. Aaaaaaaah!

Rimmel London 60 Seconds 610 Pompous (again!) + Silver crackle

Hello again! So this is my second post of Rimmel Pompous, a purple glitter-ish nailpolish. Enough talking lol, let's move on to the pictures!
In sunlight, no flash. Look at those red and blue sparkly glitters!

In shadow, no flash.

In normal daylight, no flash.

I think the last picture is most colour accurate.. Pretty, right? The application is amazing because of the wide brush. LIKE!
I've been dying to try the new essence crackles since I got them, and what better colour to try the silver crackle over is Pompous?

Normal light, no flash and no topcoat.

kittypic!

I'm very surprised by this new crackle, the formula is awesome and the finish is just gorgeous.. The blue crackle cracks a bit different though, I think you can expect swatches of it soon, too!

Do you own any of the new essence crackles? And what do you think of this combo?
