What? Wednesday! - week #17

Happy Wednesday Friends -

How is your week so far? 

 

Was your Easter FABULOUS?

I made homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast... Yum!  The boys did not want to share.. hehe

My darling DIL and I made Lemon Bar 'muddy buddies'... she was smitten... hehehe  Her favorite girl scout cookie is the Savanah Smiles and these taste just like them.  Wonderful recipe can be found HERE!.

 

 

Then I made some homemade oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and dinner rolls... The dinner rolls really are not picture worthy, but oh well.  They were tasty.

 

We had an egg hunt in the house.. hehehe... the rain prevented an outside hunt for our little ladies but they had a wonderful time looking under couches and inside closets.

After all the running around looking for treasures, it was time for a movie and popcorn.  Snickerdoodle thought it was hilarious to put popcorn on Pumpkins foot and watch it fall back into the bowl. (Yep, she is in her Jammies again - Costco rocks for Jammies)

 

Sweet Violet had a wonderful 1st Easter with lots of Giggles and Smiles.

Uncle Bran was exhausted from all the 'watching' so took a little nap with Violet.

WHAT has happened to PumpkinSpice?  {smiles}  I know the blog has been less active the past few weeks.  This is what Pumpkin & I have been up too...

During Pumpkin's spring break we played with a lot of Lego's

 

Reorganized some product

Received some new product...........

 

 

Lots of scanning to minimize all these binders of paperwork...

1 done so far... lost count of how many more

Today we had a chance to start Pumpkin's Easter classmate gift.  Can you believe Easter is just 4 days away? 

This Spring is just zooming by. 

And of course I have been busy with everyone's favorite task... TAXES!

Pumpkin and I are going to make some changes to the weekly line up... 

Starting Tuesday the 22nd, a new series will begin.  I am going to keep this one a secret for now but I just know you will enjoy it.  It will surely bring a smile to your face.

Wednesday's will turn into What is PumpkinSpice doin?  This will be a more personal glimpse into PumpkinSpice.

Friday's are going to start including a new series, Weekly Product Focus along with the Freebie Friday.

What? Wednesday! - #11

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Ok, I love these corny questions... they make me smile and who doesn't love to smile.
This one really made me 'tee hee hee' because I have been in theaters were it is just my hubby and me... and the trailers are already playing before we get there... so I think they do play it even if no one is watching...

If nobody buys a movie ticket, do they still show the movie?

I am trying to finish the Divergent book this week, my son gave it to me over the weekend with instructions.  'Get it done by Friday Mom, so we can go see the Movie on Saturday..'  lol  My children know me to well... I must (if possible) read the book before seeing the movie.  I do make exceptions..

I am so addicted to the story line, I ran to Costco on Monday and purchased the rest of the books... he is reading the second one.. so I want to get caught up to him and surprise him.

What? Wednesday! - #9

Happy Hump Day Everyone,

Do you remember calling Wednesday day Hump day in elementary school?  I do!!  Did I just reveal my age? (hehe)

I surprised Pumpkin with a Pajama party last night at Grandma's house.  We had a blast.  Stayed up a little late but it is always so much fun catching up with Grandma and Pumpkin loves playing with Dahli (dolly - the dog).

Conversations went from dog treats to real estate agents to children to everything in between.  No wonder my hubby just shakes his head side to side when the two of us get together.  It is difficult to keep track of the topic we are on.

What does this have to do with What? Wednesday! you ask.

Well.... my What? question for the day is WHO is your best conversation buddy?

My hubby and I can talk till dawn about financial stuff, aspirations, big dreams and house stuff but Mom is my conversation buddy for all that trivial stuff.  The best laundry soap, what is on sale at Target, what to do with the kids when you can't put them in a time out anymore.... you know, all that stuff the hubby wants to give you a fix for but you really just want to chat about.

My hubby laughs because my conversation buddy when I was in my teens was my cat 'Buttons'.. I know that is crazy huh!?  but Buttons and I would walk to the back part of our property and sit under a tree and I would just tell her my 'world problem' of the day.  She was a great listener.  Every once in a while she would give her opinion on a topic, but sadly I did not speak meow.  But she didn't mind, she would just continue to listen to my problems and occasionally lick away a stray tear.

So, WHO is your conversation buddy?  (2 legs or more - hehe)

What? Wednesday! - #8

Hello Everyone,

I hope your week is going great... not too much snow or cold weather.

Pumpkin and I escaped the cold for a few days and went to visit hubby at work in Irvine.  It was wonderful.  We visiting the Santa Monica Pier and LEGOLAND and just relaxed in the hotel.  I actually took some time off and played!  It was wonderful. 

Pumpkin was so intrigued watching the taxi driver 'rub' the credit card for payment.  (no POS terminal) I was trying to explain what the technique was similar to and the Cuttlebug came up.  She immediately recognized that name and then totally understood how the process happened.

Love how she can relate to crafting tools.  Then the conversation turned to.. "lets craft when we get home.. " :)  And that is exactly what she did.  Just after changing into her jammies... she pulled out her glue stick and scissors.  hehehe   She made a 'frame' for a picture her daddy said he wanted to keep with him in his briefcase.

Ok, my What? Wednesday! is What is your favorite tool???

Pumpkins - Cuttlebug and I think TAPE... I seem to be running out of it quickly now a days.
Mine - Oh I have so many favorites but I have to say... I really love my Cameo and Ink.  I just need to learn how to use ink for more than stamping.

Hello Friends,

How has your week been so far?

Ok, my What? Wednesday! is going to be short.  Pumpkin has been battling fevers since the 2nd and the dr's can not tell me what is going on.  I am sleepy from round the clock temp taking and medicating to keep it below 104. 

Anyhow, I saw these today!!

What would you use the stencils for?  I can definitely visualize several fun cards made with these.

I love the sentiments... especially "Hey Girl!"

What? Wednesday! - #6

Hello Friends and Family,

How is your week so far?  I hear another storm is headed toward the Northeast... boy oh boy... Hopefully spring will be here soon. 

With all the commotion of the Superbowl, I missed Ground Hogs Day... yikes...

So Seattle Seahawks won their first Superbowl... the whole city is excited!  They are planning a parade through downtown Seattle in celebration tomorrow. 

This gives you an idea of how excited we are for our Seahawks...

Pumpkins school district and elementary school sent out a blast emailing explaining how attendance is important and you should considered 'day as usual' tomorrow.  However, here is the phone number or email address to let us know ahead of time if your child will not be attending classes tomorrow in order to participate in the festivities...

WHAT???? 

Pumpkin came home wondering why she was NOT going to a parade tomorrow. LOL

Oh, don't get me wrong.  I have 'hookie' days with Pumpkin about once a month so her and I can just reconnect and chill out for the day.  Daily lives now seem to be so hectic and FULL, no time unscheduled.

BUT, I thought it was incredibly comical that the schools were inadvertently encouraging a 'hookie' day.

WHAT are your thoughts? 

I personally think 'real life' events are as much of an education.  With all the time our little people spend in front of computers, other digital devices, books and such... Interpersonal skills are being shadowed.  So maybe skipping a day of the "3R"'s and putting on your 'Colors' to go yell and scream with the best fans ever is a great memory and a learning experience in coming together as a community.

Anyhow, Let me know your thought.  I would love to hear them.

What was your favorite memory from YESTURDAY?

Mine was going to the grocery store with Pumpkin after a long day of looking at numbers.  It was refreshing to spend 10 minutes deciding on what cookies she wanted for lunches.

What? Wednesday! #3

Happy WHAT! Wednesday Everyone!

Ok, so my question of the day has nothing to do with crafting.  Something I noticed for the umpteenth time yesterday and I am curious if anyone else experiences this strange situation.

The strange situation is FINGERNAILS!  Do you notice that when you start "Taking care" of your nails they all the sudden decide to break?

So normally, I am not one to take the time on my nails.  Hand lotion is about all they see and at that it is not daily.  Then when I notice my nails are starting to grow, I get all giddy and excited, I then sit still for 10 minutes and put on some cute nail polish.

Then what do you think happens... they retaliate.  That is the only way I can explain it.  Its like they are thinking... 'see, we got your attention didn't we? Should have paid attention to us before we had to beg... hmmmm'

I just don't get it.  Give them a little TLC and BOOM... chip, break, crack, GONE!!!

Of course I don't think it helps when Pumpkin sits on my lap and bends them backward.

Do your little people do that?  She really isn't even thinking about it, watch a movie or I am reading to her and she is holding my hand bending my nail this way and that... I guess relaxing for her, like twirling your hair.. IDK.. half the time I don't even notice.

Ok Ok...so what is the WHAT? Wednesday! Question?

How do you make your flowers, opps... 

I mean Fingernails Grow?

Did anyone else do that when they were pre-teens, or was that just me?  I guess it could be considered one of my first CRAFT projects.  LOL

What? Wednesday! - #2

Hello Everyone,

Can you believe we are already a week into the new year?

I have to say... I am loving 2014 so far.  Ok.. Ok... maybe not the freezing temperatures.

How is everyone doing in the storms?  Hopefully safe and warm.

Pumpkin, Spice and I are pretty blessed, we prepared in November for this cold stuff and we are not nearly as cold as other areas.  The Hubs is enjoying 76 degrees while we bundle up in our sweaters and winter gear.  Do you think I feel sorry for him? (hehe).

Pumpkin is actually looking forward to some "White" stuff so she can break in her New Snow Boots!  I must admit, I am too!
(I hope I don't end up handing them down unused.. lol, yep it has happened.)

Spice is getting bored of scrapping her car in the morning... I can't say I blame her.  But she did get a pretty nice scrapper for Christmas. :)

Has everyone been following the Manufactures 'Sneak Peeks' of the new products they will be showing off at 2014 Winter CHA?  There are so many beautiful designs out there.  My favorite 'reveal's are the new tools.

I am really excited about the MME Record It! lines.

6 design lines, following the concept of Project Life, but with amazing coordinating embellishments.
Pretty Things is my favorite in the line so far... but it really is a hard choice because I can see using every single line.  You can see all of the lines here

I am also pretty excited about these new 2 x 2 pocket pages from Simple Stories, 6 x 8 size.  Won't they fit fabulous in a Daytimer?

Oh my... I think Webster's Pages made this line just for me!!! "Hello World"

EEEKKKKK... This one is definitely going to be on my crafting table. Love IT!!

Webster's has 6 lines coming out... So far.. I want them all!

Happy 2014 - WHAT? Wednesday!

Happy New Year!!

I am so excited for 2014... why, you ask?

Well 2013 was an amazing year and I was able to share time with some amazing ladies on the Pumpkin Spice Design Team... they inspired me so much in crafting and other areas of life as well.

So needless to say, I was very sad when the decision was made to not have a Design Team for 2014 and I pouted for a few days (and some tears where shed) but then I put on my big girl pants.

What is WHAT? Wednesday!?  This is the day of the week that I will ask you your thoughts on something.  It could be a new product, an old product, something in the news, or just a thought.  Pretty much anything that could get us all chatting about the topic.

So here is to our 1st WHAT? Wednesday! together.

It's January 1st of 2014, we all made resolutions last night before midnight (well most of us), What is your "this is happening in 2014" resolution and what is your "It would be nice but there is always next year" resolution for 2014?

My "This is happening in 2014" resolution is 

FIND SPACE

We moved in November from our very loved home of 8 years, to a rental home, while we wait for our New Home to finish.  

The rental feels much like this cute little playhouse.

So finding room for all of us and our treasures has been a REAL challenge.  Closetmaid Cubeicals have become our #1 piece of bedroom furniture. lol

So my goal this year is to FIND SPACE, whether by purging or creating, I will FIND SPACE in 2014.

My "There is always next year" resolution is

WEIGHT LOSE

It is there on the list every year and every year I find a new fad or gimmick to try and fail.  This year I am not going to do any gimmicks or fads, I am just going to rely on my knowledge.  I have read so many books on the subject, from the 'mind over matter' to 'fasting' to 'body building' to 'only eat green'.

What I know is that "I love Food" and I love feeling energized.

 I don't like to count calories and I don't like 90 minute workouts.  My days are packed, so my workouts need to be 30 minutes or less from the time I put on my shoes to the time I take them off.

So I have 2 resources I am going to use January through March - Gorge Cruise's 8 minute workout (love this guy and his books) and a new book I started by Rachel Cosgrove Drop Two Sizes.  

Both run on the principle of building lean muscle.
