Today's Daily Inspiration Post–Cheryl Card

Hello!   This is Cheryl from Shestamps.  I have another card for Mother’s Day to share with you today.

Although I always love October Afternoon’s paper collections, I especially love Woodland Park. Since I had the papers sitting on my desk after making this card for the Pumpkin Spice blog hop, I decided to see what else I could create.

2013-05-04 PSS Mom hex butterfly card WM_thumb[1]

I created my chipboard letters by adhering kraft cardstock to a piece of cardboard from a cereal box before using alphabet dies to cut them out. This is a cheap and easy way to have chipboard pieces that match any project. You can see the Bazzill Basics card stock carried by ShopPumpkinSpice here.

You still have plenty of time to celebrate National Scrapbooking Day and join in the fun we had at the Pumpkin Spice blog. Challenges are open until 6 pm Friday, May 10th. Each challenge winner will receive a $20 GC to ShopPumpkinSpice.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great day!

Today's Daily SPS Inspiration from Cheryl ~ Card

Oh my gosh! I’m late! This has been a bit of a crazy week and I lost track of the days. I hope you don’t mind if I keep the post short and to the point.

Once again I was playing around with some fun papers and chipboard from Pumpkin Spice. I so love making cards like this now. With a few extra added accents you have a fabulous card that is pretty fast to make.

2013-04-24 PSS Favorite wm_thumb[1]

These beautiful papers and chipboard pieces are from the For the Record 2 – Documented collection from Echo Park. I just love these colors. For my card, I layered a couple of chipboard pieces to give it a bit of extra dimension. To add a little something extra, I used liquid pearls to accent the center of the flower.

Check out the 6x6 paper pads and coordinating chipboard and embellishments at Pumpkin Spice for great prices and fabulous customer service.

Today's Daily SPS Inspiration with Cheryl ~ Card

Hello!  Although my crafty mojo has been on a bit of a hiatus lately (I think it is off looking for spring), I couldn’t help but be inspired by the beautiful, warm colors from Echo Park’s For the Record 2 collection.

2013-03-27 PSS Good Luck WM_thumb[1]

In my original idea for this card, I was planning on having more of these beautiful floral papers showing. I love the pink and orange together. But, the doily on my desk some how made it’s way on my card. Once again, I used some coordinating chipboard. I jazzed it up a bit using some liquid pearls on the flower centers.

Don’t forget you still have time to join challenge #12 – Lucky (your interpretation). To link up your “lucky” project or to see the challenge details, stop by the Pumpkin Spice blog.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great day!

Some Pumpkin Spice Daily Inspiration from Cheryl– Card

Hello! This is Cheryl.  For my project today, I created a card that fits the current Pumpkin Spice challenge, “Time”. We would love to see your project with either a word or element that implies time.

I have to admit I was a bit stumped by the challenge at first. I could only think of clocks and watches, but I didn’t have any stamps that would fit. I finally had my “Ah ha!” moment and thought about looking up a quote about time. I found this quote from John Lennon that I really liked and the idea for my card grew from there and these beautiful Pebbles Inc. papers.

I love these new papers from Pebbles, Inc. The colors are so bright and cheery, I had to use them to chase away the spring gloom we have right now. I love each of the 18 patterns (2 pages of each) included in the 6x6 pad.

Today's Daily SPS Inspiration with Cheryl: Card

Hello! This is Cheryl from Shestamps

This week’s challenge is to use X’s and O’s in your creations. Denine further challenged the DT to see what we could make with the focus on designer paper and only use stamps for sentiments. This idea popped into my head immediately. (Gosh, I love when that happens!)

2013-02-27-PSS-X-O-WM_thumb

On the back side of my top layer, I measured and marked where I wanted the die cuts. Although I used metal dies, you could do the same thing with your die cutting machine. The pieces of designer paper are adhered to the back side of the white piece so it shows through the negative spaces. I think there are so many possibilities to this design. You could use other words or shapes to fit any occasion. I finished off my card with stitching because, well, I almost always use stitching. I couldn’t resist adding some coordinating bakers twine.

I hope you will join our X’s & O’s challenge. You can find all the challenge details and link up your project here.

Today's Daily Inspiration from Cheryl–cards

Hello!  This is Cheryl.   I hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day yesterday.

While scrolling through the Pumpkin Spice shop, I noticed the great prices on the Christmas/Winter themed paper pads. The fun colors and patterns on so many of the pages could be used for just about anything. So I pulled out the “12 Days of Christmas” paper pad from My Mind’s Eye and set to work trying to make some cards.

2013-02-15-PSS-Birthday-Wishes-WM_th

Since I never have enough birthday cards on hand, I thought that was what I would try first. I started by punching out butterflies from several of the many patterns in the pad. From there, I moved them around my card until I had an arrangement that I liked, added some stitching and stickers, and, “Ta Da!”, a birthday card!

Since I also need a congratulations card for a friend , I thought I would see what I could make with the same paper pad. I really love how this card turned out.

2013-02-15-PSS-Happy-4-U-WM_thumb1

(In real life, the glitter on the “U” is more similar to the aqua color in the paper.)

So what do you think? You can make some fabulous, non-holiday cards using holiday themed papers. In fact, you can purchase the 6x6 paper pad I used, My Mind’s Eye “12 Days of Christmas”, for only $3.35 at Pumpkin Spice. Also check out My Mind’s Eye “Winter Wonderland”, which is also only $3.35. I have it sitting on my desk right now because I love all the cute striped and polka dot papers.

While you are there, check out all the Christmas themed items HERE and the Winter themed items HERE. If you are already starting on your Christmas cards for 2013, you can pick up some stickers, chipboard and other items that coordinate with the papers so you can make some easy and cute cards.

Today’s Daily Inspiration Post–Cheryl Cards

Last week I created a 6x6 layout using Echo Park This & That Graceful paper pad from ShopPumpkinSpice. When I was done, my desk was a total mess with the left over stickers, papers, doilies, etc. and I had about an hour before I had to start making dinner. I knew if I put everything away, it would probably be a while before I dug out these gorgeous papers and stickers and put them to use again. So I challenged myself to make as many cards as I could, primarily using the materials on my desk, before I had to start cooking. This is what I came up with.

2013-01-30 PSS Card 4 WM_thumb[1]

Card #1 uses one of the sentiment stamps from Love You Mulberry Wood collection available at ShopPumpkinSpice. I used a handy tip that I picked up somewhere. If you have a sticker that you want to make un-sticky, dust the back with cornstarch. (Be sure to tap off the extra and even brush it off with an old brush. Anything else the cornstarch gets on will also become no longer sticky.) I did that on the blue flower so that I could pop it up on dimensionals.

2013-01-30 PSS Card 2 wm_thumb[1]

On card #2, I trimmed down the flourish/stem sticker so that it would fit my card. Again I used the corn starch trick and popped up the flower.

2013-01-30 PSS Card 1 WM_thumb[1]

I love this hot balloon sticker, especially with the sentiment.

2013-01-30 PSS Card 3 WM_thumb[1]

This one is my favorite. I love this sentiment sticker because I used to sing this song to my daughter when she was small (and she still liked my singing). I matted the sticker with a piece of scrap black card stock.

I made all four of these cards in about an hour with the bits and pieces on my desk. It really showed me how versatile stickers can be and how quickly you can make some cards. I think I usually consider stickers as something to use primarily in scrapbooking. ShopPumpkinSpice has a large variety of stickers you can use in your crafting available HERE. Pair them up with some matching papers and you are ready to go to make a stack of cards. (Note that after these 4 cards and my 6x6 scrapbook page, I still have plenty of paper and stickers to play with.)

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great day!

Hello!  Happy Friday!   This is Cheryl from SheStamps.  I hope you are having a wonderful week.  Here in Wisconsin, we haven’t had much snow, but it is COLD!   To break out of the winter doldrums, I decided to make a card using this sweet image from Mulberry Woods and pretty paper from Crate Paper.   The flowers on the paper and the stamp make me think of summer.
