EA is gearing up to release a new downloadable content pack for Madden NFL 10 on September 24th, which will introduce a distinctly retro feel to the game. The AFL Legacy Pack will hit both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and will add in old-school referee outfits, a football card-like interface and grainy broadcast visuals.
The eight original AFL teams will be represented by name and wear their historic uniforms, including the Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs (as the Dallas Texans), New England Patriots (as the Boston Patriots), New York Jets (as the Titans of New York), Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers and Tennessee Titans (as the Houston Oilers).

The 15 AFL Legacy Game matchups during the 2009 NFL regular season will include the Legacy Pack presentation in the offline Franchise mode, as well as during the Play Now, and Superstar modes. Historic AFL uniforms can be selected in any mode – offline or online!
The AFL pack will include new achievements and trophies and will cost 560 Microsoft Points or $6.99 for PSN users.

Bryn says: LOL at John Madden's awesome hairdo. Seriously, I think this is a great addition to the game. The images we've posted really convey a sense of the game from back in the day, and I would imagine that football gamers will get a real kick out of playing as the classic older teams.

You might even be able to convince your dad's generation that gaming is cool!
