The Silent Hill series has long been known for its disturbing imagery, complex plotlines, and excellent graphics. Konami's latest addition, Silent Hill 4: The Room, looks to offer more of what fans of the series love while bringing a few new ideas to the table. Most notably, the sequences that take place in the titular room are played from the first-person perspective, a first for the series. In my short time with the game, it's these areas that seem most interesting.

That said, Silent Hill 4: the Room is quite a looker on all fronts. We were recently given an early build of the game and I'm happy to deliver to you several movies, including a widescreen version of the game's intro sequence. Click on the links below to grab the movies from FilePlanet.

Silent Hill 4 -- Intro Cinematic [16x9]
This is the complete intro sequence from Silent Hill 4: The Room. It's disturbing, yet beautiful. That's par for this series.

Video #1: This Place is Alive!
This clip shows off one of the game's disturbing locales. Beware of wall demons, giant insects, and various other roaming atrocities.

Video #2: The Room
As previously mentioned, the sequences in "the Room" are played from 1st person. The environment is beautifully rendered and highly detailed.

Video #3: I'm Not Alone
At times, your character will be joined by an ally. It'll be interesting to see how the extra help affects combat and, more importantly, the game's puzzles.

Video #4: Wandering Through the Darkness
In this footage, you can get a sense of how some of Silent Hill 4's outdoor environments are constructed. Often times, enemies will ambush you from nowhere!

Video #5: To Kill a Phantom
At times, you'll be faced with enemies that are capable of teleporting about the room with ease. This makes it especially difficult to defeat them. Take a look.
