Like any good first-person shooter, Medal of Honor European Assault has guns. Lots of them. As you run through the game, you'll get weapons from your fellow OSS squadmates, find them scattered on the ground, and even pry them from the cold, dead hands of your enemies. There are a variety of weapon types, too, including pistols, machine guns, grenades, and even a few kinds of rocket launchers. We got a chance to check out some of the weapons available to you, and we've got descriptions of each and every one of them on the following pages.

2. Model 12 Trenchgun

Originally created as a sporting shotgun, the Model 12 was designed by Winchester and was first used during WWI, when the US military added a bayonet lug and a heat shroud, making it perfect for close quarters fighting. It's a reliable and strong weapon, particularly when used in urban areas or dense brush, and it's feared by the enemy due to its amazingly destructive power. Weighing 7 pounds 8 ounces and firing a range of 12 gauge shells from an internal magazine, the Model 12 was not terribly common in the European Theater of Operations.

3. Colt .45 M1911A1 Automatic Pistol

One of the most famous weapons in the world, the Colt .45 was originally designed by John Browning, and is commonly called the ".45 Auto" One of the finest automatic pistols ever created, the M1911A1 was the standard issue pistol for members of the US Military for over 70 years, and US Forces still use variants to this very day. If they could get their hands on them, British Commandos chose to use this pistol in WWII, a true testament to its excellent design.
