Frontiers is the second PlayStation 2 edition of the popular online RPG EverQuest Online Adventures series. Venture through a living breathing online world complete with huge cities, dungeons and underground lairs. Continually added content and new events will expand the gameplay and make the range of things to do virtually limitless. Create custom characters from a vast list of ten races and fifteen different classes--including the newly added Alchemist--each with specific abilities. Back in February of this year, SOE took a bold step forward and broke the mold with the very first (truly) MMORPG for a console -- EverQuest Online Adventures. EQOA served up a streamlined MMORPG experience on the PS2 which was much more accessible than its heavy-hitting PC counterpart. And although some skeptics wondered about the feasibility of crafting a successful MMORPG game on a console -- both in terms of its business model and the gameplay experience -- SOE has managed to hold its ground pretty well. Large competition is, however, looming for SOE, as Square-Enix's upcoming FFXI is set to hit the PS2 next year. And so this brings us up-to-date.
