Konami is back with the next entry in their DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION series for the Playstation 2. DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION EXTREME has everything the previous entries have plus new bonus modes, new songs, and additional mini-games for eye toy fans. The concept of DDR began in arcades. Basically, players step on arrows in time to the beat of a song. The more arrows they miss, the lower and lower their life bar gets. As the levels get higher, more complications come in, like hitting two arrows at once or holding down arrows for a period of time. The fun, addictive game has gained popularity since its release and has even been recognized as an exercise option. DDR EXTREME has the traditional game mode where players dance through three songs to earn a high score. Training and lesson modes are available, and a workout more is available for those that are looking for some exercise. Other modes include challenge mode for two players, a mission mode with certain scoring requirements, and party mode. Party mode is the newest feature here, featuring seven mini-games. Half of the games require the eye toy to play, making players hit arrows on the screen with their hands or guide a ball through a maze. Fans of the previous DDR games will enjoy the new songs and mini games, especially if they own an eye toy. Newcomers, here's your chance to get in on the craze and see what DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION is all about.
This version of the retail package includes a dance pad controller to play the game with.
