Hello friends! Melon was an elusive color until I looked up in my dressing room above my vanity and saw this little shoe.
I hope melon isn't elusive for you and that you have fun finding it. I think I had more fun editing this one because I added the texture. I LOVE textures and haven't been using them much lately because I have been doing so many portraits of people! Check out some of my latest work on my Facebook Fan Page. Doesn't that sound so much more fancy instead of just saying 'my Facebook'? Lol!
Have a great week!

B-L-U-E, I can spell BLUE, I can spell BLUE {Kendall}
School has begun! Can you tell? Cole, my four year old is LOVING it. He can't wait to learn new things. Kyler, my 9 year old, would rather do just about anything besides go to school. Our days and nights are so fun during the school year. Run here, run there, do homework, eat dinner, bathe, go to bed, wake up and do it all over again. But I love it and have been fortunate to have spent the last few months home with the boys. Sure does make me appreciate the two and a half hours I have while they are both gone!
Blue was so easy. It seems like all of our other colors have been something funky and then we get plain 'ol blue.
I took my boys out for a photo shoot a few weeks ago and they were both wearing blue! I just ordered prints of these two and can't wait to get them!
I hope you all have a good week as I know many are heading back to school soon. My kids are really handling it well...I should have prepared myself more for it!
Happy Color Hunting!

Cadet Blue {Kendall}
Hello P64 friends! How are you today/tonight/this week? School starts this week for us so I have been cramming in last minute things. My oldest son is going to be in 4th grade and my youngest will be in Pre-K. I am not sure I am ready for my baby to be in school. I almost cried when I saw his name on his classroom door at Meet the Teacher night. It made it all too real!
Cadet blue seemed like a weird color to me...as many of the colors do, but my find jumped out at me almost immediately. I love when that happens! I got a new 50mm lens today so I had fun playing with it. I think I love it!

I found this and two other coffee cans in my great-grandmother's attic about ten years ago. I just knew they were going to be filled with money or something important when they were the only thing in the attic...but alas, they were empty. I treasure them anyway. I love the colors!
I hope your Cadet Blue jumps out at you too!
Have a wonderful week.

Forest Green {Kendall}
I have loved having the summer off with my boys...but I will be ready for school to start so I can get back on track with lots of things, including my P64 posting!
Here are a few Forest Greens:
This is my youngest son and my best friend's new baby. She has stolen my heart.
Here are a few Forest Greens:
My crazy boys. They were supposed to be helping me check the lighting at a photo shoot and they were being normal instead! I really love this one. Ha ha!

I have been making a lot of custom invitations in the last few weeks and this is one of them. I thought the green matched pretty well. John Deere is definitely not my thing, but I think I made it work!
Enrolled my baby in Pre-K today. I don't know if I am ready for him to go. But his school is only two hours and forty minutes, so I don't think it will be too traumatizing for either of us. I will let you know after next Thursday!
Have a happy week!

Raw Sienna {Kendall}
Hello Friends! I decided to do something different since I have had zero time to photograph anything. I decided to do a little scavenger hunting for Raw Sienna.
This was my first find upon visiting Etsy. I wish I could have a whole wall of these drawers. I just love the way they look!

This was my first find upon visiting Etsy. I wish I could have a whole wall of these drawers. I just love the way they look!
Love this too. It would look awesome on the wall in a mix of picture frames:
I love this painting and I think it has the perfect color of Raw Sienna and a little Burnt Sienna too!
I hope you enjoyed seeing some other people's stuff! And if you haven't ever been to Etsy, where the heck have you been hiding? It's awesome for shopping and for some great inspiration!
I have had a lot of things come up over the last week that has prevented me from doing much of anything...but the main, most time consuming thing, has been our adoption of two puppies. TWO! Yes, two. We are crazy and they are currently sitting here at my feet biting my toes. They are sweet and ornery. I will do a photo shoot with them soon, while they are cute and post them in the next week or two.
Enjoy your week (and your sleep without having to wake up and take puppies out every few hours).

Wisteria {Kendall}
Hello P64ers! How is your search going for this week's color? I am loving the Mac n' Cheese entries.
Here is my entry:
Here is my entry:
I got some fun little triptychs so I thought I would try one out. I kind of like it.
Since it's summer and I am hoping some of you are leading a more leisure-like life, are you reading any good books? I am always looking for something new. I like random books... Water for Elephants, The Millenium Series, and Jodi Piccoult books. I am currently reading A Stolen Life: A Memoir by Jaycee Dugard. It is intense, painful, and fascinating. It is so crazy that this outlandish story is actually true. Jaycee Dugard is a survivor. I am amazed by the grace she has shown. I am halfway through the book and the one thing I can say to everyone, and I know you will agree, is you never know when you walk out the door if that will be the last time you say goodbye to your children, your spouse, your friend. Be sure to let them know you love them. Jaycee's mom left without kissing her goodbye on the morning of her abduction. That moment was painful for each of them through the years she was missing. I am using that as a reminder to let my friends and family know that I love them.
Ok, that's enough of that! If you have any book suggestions, send them my way. I love to read and I am making myself take time to do it.
Happy Snapping!

See Green {Kendall}
Hello friends! How was your holiday? Any big events? We played it pretty low-key this weekend which was nice! I love being able to do things at our own pace instead of rushing around to be at 3 places at the same time! My boys had a great time doing fireworks, we just wish it had been a little cooler here! When it's still 90 degrees at night, it's too dang hot!
So, I completed my whole post just thinking the color was plain 'ol green. Then I get to the bottom of my post and am about to publish when I realize the color is SEA green. Hello, Kendall! So, I decided to change my color to See Green. You know, like I SEE GREEN everywhere I go. It's late and I don't want to redo pictures!
Anyway, here are my submissions for my imaginary color of the week. When we went on our mini-vacation, we visited the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial. I had been to the memorial before at various times, but this was the first time to take the boys and to visit the museum. If you are ever in the Oklahoma City area, I recommend that you visit. It is an emotional visit, but is well worth the tears.

This tree is called the Survivor Tree. It was damaged by the bombing, but still stands today.
I hope you all have a wonderful week and enjoy finding this week's REAL color!

Red {Kendall}
The color this week is easy for me! I have red everywhere. It's our favorite color. When there are color choices and red is one of the colors my whole family always picks red. We have it in our living room, our bedroom, and our whole kitchen is red...complete with a red KitchenAid mixer.
This morning all three of my guys (my husband and two boys) were collecting all the Lego men from the house and putting them together on their new Lego baseplates. There were several red and I thought they would make fantastic pictures!

Of course since I was taking pictures of his Legos, my silly little helper had to have a picture too!
One more...the new cookbook I got my husband for Father's Day. We like Guy Fieri so I would have bought this book without the cover, but I am a sucker for good packaging and I do judge books by their covers. I love this cover. The lettering is fun and all tattoo-ish. Even the pages on the inside have awesome design work.
I hope you all find red as easily as I did. It seems to be everywhere in the world around us!

Goldenrod {Kendall}
Hello P64ers! It's good to be back! Thank you to all of our guest bloggers. It was fun to have some different peeps fill in last week.
So this week is Goldenrod. Looks a lot like yellow to me!
Summer is in full swing here. No school, sleeping in, going to the lake, and playing outside. Today, my boys and my husband went outside and painted a few canvases. It just so happened that my oldest son's canvas has the perfect color of Goldenrod!
I really love this painting because I love splatters and abstract and anything my baby boys make. This will go in their 'Man Cave'.
Last week we took a little three day mini-vacation and had a great time. We went to this cool little pop shop on our way home. They had all sorts of different soda. I got some cool shots and this photo, even though it's orange soda, looks like Goldenrod on the top too.
I hope you all have a great week and have fun hunting for Goldenrod. I love when colors show up in our every day lives when we least expect it!

Salmon {Kendall}
Hello! Salmon is not a favorite color, I have always thought it was a little too close to peach! And now that I am typing this, I should have taken a picture of the sushi I had last night with salmon in it!
This picture is just a snapshot and no work of art...but it has my two favorite boys plus another favorite boy waiting at the hospital for my new favorite girl to be born! This was their way of passing the time. Thank goodness for electronics.

My very best friend had her first baby on Friday morning at 2:32am. Her pregnancy and labor went very well, but when Layla Evyn was born, she was not breathing. It has been a long few days, but tonight around 8pm, they were able to remove the ventilator, and after much prayer, she is breathing on her own! Hopefully mama will get to hold her tomorrow. I know how difficult it is for me not to touch her, I can't imagine how she feels!
Keep posting your asparagus! I love seeing all of your entries!

Yellow Orange {Kendall}
Hello! It has been a long week for me since my post last week! I kept feeling like I was forgetting to post, but it wasn't my day yet!
I had no idea where I was going to find my yellow orange, until it appeared last night! I am in Oklahoma and the weather has been wild. It's really not so unusual, but still not fun. The sky looked AMAZING last night with so many different colors. And it just so happened that a little yellow orange showed up!
I hope none of you are dealing with severe weather. My heart is heavy for all the families who have lost loved ones and their homes. If you haven't done so already, I hope you will take a moment and pray for them.
Have fantastic week!

Asparagus {Kendall}
The last week has gone by in a flash! I couldn't believe it was already Tuesday again. My photos are of my sweet little t-ball player. I actually dislike the color of his uniform, but it works for the color this week! His coach apparently has an affinity for this color of green because he coaches a soccer team and I did their team pictures and they were the same color. Blah!
I love this second one because he is wearing his sunglasses. They are meant for serious ball players only! And he wore them the entire game and in the team picture too. It's hilarious.
I hope you all have fun searching for your asparagus. I am enjoying the cerulean photos. Do you pronounce that sir-u-leen? Just curious since I am pretty sure I have NEVER heard anyone say that!
Have a fantabulous week,
Kendall

Hi. I'm Kendall, and I am...
Really, extremely, crazily busy! I am currently in my last week at work. Shutting down a business is a lot of things, but exhausting really fits best. Physically and emotionally! Say a little prayer for my sanity and that I can get some rest soon...or at least for a week, because then I have jury duty!
I had to dig in my files to find a color because this is honestly the first time I have done something other than edit sports photos at my computer in a week! I have been working, going straight to take photos, and then to my son's baseball games. I was hoping for a rain out tonight just to have the evening off...but my rain dance didn't work.
This is a picture of my sweet baby when he turned four. I love this kid like crazy. And his big brother too. They make my life a lot more interesting!
I know I said I would do random facts this week, but it is currently 1:39am and I need to go to bed so I can get up in 5 hours! Next week will be better, I promise!
I hope you all have a fabulous week...and keep posting those Tumbleweed entries.

{Kendall} Getting to know you...
This post is really just a place holder... I am hurriedly finishing up some wedding invitations for a client that is picking them up tomorrow. I should be done in an hour or so and will post my real post then. Until that time, here's an answer to a question no one asked... What shows do you have on your dvr that are a must watch? Young and the Restless, Glee, Army Wives, Grey's Anatomy, and Jersey Shore (but don't tell anyone).
So here is my real, updated post!
I was thinking this week's color was a little boring, until I found the PERFECT subjects.
This is my Department 56 replica of Graceland! In case you didn't know (have you been living in a bomb shelter?) this was the home of Elvis Presley...whom I love. I have often thought I was born in the wrong era because Elvis and the Beatles are tops to me. I have introduced my children to the Beatles, thanks to The Beatles Rock Band game and they love them and can pick out one of their songs any time they hear it. Makes me proud. Elvis is next on my list to introduce to them, but I am not sure they will appreciate his music as much. But who doesn't love a little Burnin' Love?!?Here is my second find, which actually sits directly next to Graceland.
This was my great-grandma's phone. Her name was Clara and oh how I loved her. If I had a daughter her name would be Clara. Makes me tear up thinking about it. Anyway, I spent hours and hours playing with this phone as a child. It sat on my grandma's desk and I would pretend I was spelling things out on it...apparently I knew texting would be a phenomenon in the future. I attribute my ability to text on a regular phone to this phone, which taught me what letters correspond with what numbers. Even now when I look at this, I am always tempted to spin the dial around. I love the noise it makes.
Now to the questions!
Scrappy Grams asked if I had a studio in my home. I WISH! I usually just make my own little faux studio here for shots of inanimate objects. And all of my portraits, at this time, are taken in natural light.
Cindy from WyTography asked how often I washed my hair!?! When I first read the question I laughed out loud because on that particular day, I was actually on day 3. And I have never before gone three days without washing my hair...well at least not when I planned to be seen in public. But now, I am pretty much a solid every other day hair washer. My hair is longer than it has ever been in my life and I enjoy NOT having to dry it every single day.
Cat @ No Wooden Spoons asked what one of my favorite dates with my husband was. Well, this is going way back...like 11 years ago. We flew to Houston, Texas to go to an event. Now don't laugh...we went to a WWF wrestling match. The Rock was supposed to be there and he was our fave. It was the first time as young adults we had travelled alone and the first time my husband had been on a plane. It was a great time. And now you know that I used to love the WWF. We haven't watched it in years, with the exception of the night The Rock came back on. I have two boys who DO NOT need to learn those kind of wrestling moves. They have enough of their own.
Side by Side asked when I first started snapping photos and what kind of camera it was. I was about 7 and it was a Kodak 110. I was obsessed with Cabbage Patch Kids and took my babies with me everywhere. Most of the pictures I took were of my babies with various people. One year, I took pictures of two of my babies with my my Grandma and my Great-Grandma and then made them picture frames with a picture of them and my babies in it. I think their heads were half cut off and I wrote "To the world's gaetest Grandma," but I know they loved them. My great-grandma had hers framed. I have it somewhere but can't find it at the moment to post a picture. Thank goodness I have come a LONG way from those photography days!
I am glad this is all the questions that were posted or you might be reading for an HOUR! I was going to post random facts about myself too, like Brooke did, but think I will save that for next week.
Happy snapping. And have a fabulous week!

Red Violet {Kendall}
Hellllooooo! I hope you are all having a wonderful day today. I am. It is good to see the sun after a few days of gloom. It is amazing how much weather can affect your overall mood.
Ok, let's be real, most of the color that we have had so far have been weird. We associate their names with a totally different color than what they are. It is sometimes WAY off! This week is a little weird too.
Here is my first shot:
My Christmas present to myself. I love her. I am sure it's not right or ethical or whatever to love inanimate objects, but who cares. I love her. I have a lot of purses and my favorites are Coach purses. My husband always threatens to have a purse party at our house....a purse party where he sells my purses! Really?!? Who thinks that is a good idea? Not me. I do have to admit though, while I do love Coach purses, I have never paid over $100 for one because I love a good bargain!
Here is another photo and it actually matches almost perfectly:
I did this lovely girl's senior pictures on Saturday. We had a great time. Sometimes I wonder if the color of an object I choose is really close to the color so I will check this handy little site that has the color codes on it. It helps me to figure out if I am on the right track! Sometimes I am...and sometimes I am WAY off.
Ok, enough of my babbling, I have a little curly-haired boy and a husband that are waiting on me for lunch. I look forward to your questions! I will answer them all, even embarrassing ones, so ask away!
Have a great week!

Magenta, a Droid, and an iPad
So Brooke challenged us with using our phones this week. Well, I have an Android that I love immensely but I can only post one photo at a time, so I am using my iPad to write this post and edit and upload my photos. These photos were taken with my Samsung Mesmerize.
This photo is of me...and my magenta hair

Edited with Photoshop Express on my Droid. I made a few Adjustments to color and saturation and then added a nice little border.
This next photo is of police lights. Random, I know, but we had some excitement a few days ago. At 2:45am, someone ran into our neighbor's car and pushed it 57 feet into the back of my husband's car. The best part is that after totaling our neighbor's car and causing a couple thousand dollars worth of damage to our car, they drove off...but left their front bumper behind. We live in a very small town, so chances are, they will be sitting in the back of this police car soon!

I used PhotoPad on the iPad to edit this photo and add the border.
Hope you all enjoy finding your magenta. Have a great week! And don't forget to post your Burnt Sienna.
Kendall
P.S. I think I could have loaded this on my phone...because I am adding this now via Blogger-droid.

Spring Green {Kendall}
Wow! Who knew it really be so hard to find spring green now that it's spring! Green is becoming my go-to color now but I still don't have a lot of it around the house.
I did find a few things:
One of my favorite things...my Kindle! So appropriately named. I love the top of the screen because it says Kendall's Kindle! If only they had spelled it correctly.
And my other entry. The bag I store my Kindle in. It's from Thirty-One. I had to come up with something sassy for the embroidery. I have a makeup bag with this same material and it says Foxy Lady on it! I wanted to put something about loving fake eyelashes, but there is a limit on letters. Go figure.
I hope you all have a great time finding Spring Green. Every week I think it will get easier to pick a favorite out of your photos, but every week it gets more difficult! You all are amazing and I love seeing all of your pictures. Thank you so much for sharing. Don't forget you can still link your Tickle Me Pink pictures.
Have a great week friends!

Tickle Me Pink {Kendall}
Good evening! Ok, as I was getting ready to post this blog, I began thinking what a strange name Tickle Me Pink is. I don't remember it being a crayon name when I was a child. And I knew crayons! So, I did a little Google search (something I do often), and in case you needed some useless knowledge, Tickle Me Pink came onto the scene in 1993. I know you feel smarter knowing that!
Now, on to the pictures. Here is my first and probably my favorite.
And here is another. Anyone know what kind of flower this is? I thought it was so cool because the edges were torn looking.
Tickle Me Pink kind of reminded me of a bubblegum pink. It is a color I don't have much of around here at the boy asylum.
Keep uploading your Scarlet photos. And if your brand spankin' new to this site and you want to join in on this craziness, click here.
Thanks for playing along with us! Hope you are all having a super week.

Scarlet {Kendall}
I was excited when I heard scarlet was an upcoming color. Maybe I was more excited because I love the name Scarlet. My favorite movie is Gone with the Wind and if I were to have a daughter, I would have considered Scarlet as a top runner in the “Name the Baby” contest. Not that anyone in my family would have agreed to it, but it is still a favorite.
Anyway....this past weekend, I went to the Dallas Arboretum and was able to see the first flowers of spring! It was a cool place and I imagine it will be even more beautiful in the coming weeks as everything starts to bloom. I got some great shots of flowers, mostly tulips. There were all colors, but these looked pretty darn close to our scarlet. We colored on a piece of paper and took it with us for comparison!
(I would also like to say that this is the first time I have really taken photographs of flowers so it was an all new experience. This challenge has taken me out of the box and I love it! I hope it is getting you to step out of your box too.)
I am thoroughly enjoying every single one of your plum posts! It is getting harder and harder to pick a favorite each week!
