BUSY! BUSY! BUSY!

Now for more pages from the wedding album.

I did so much so fast that I did not stay organized with what they were for and I am really paying the price now trying to back track and figure things out.  I would have been so much better off if I had kept a list rather than counting on the tabs to still be open on my computer...but...I have never been good at making lists or using them...so I will just do my best.

Here I used the August 15 sketch from over at Stuck?! Sketches-

I opted to rotate it 1/4 turn to the left.

and a close-up of a bit of the stitching!-

Next from Let's Get Sketchy August Week 4

and mine-

I am having such a tough time locating everything I worked from...hopefully by the end of the day I will be able to make a bit more sense of things!

I hope you have enjoyed viewing a few more pages from the wedding album.'

Please leave a comment letting me know you were here and what you thought about what you saw!

GOING BACK IN TIME

Tonite I created a layout using photos from a play that my youngest son Thomas was in back in January 2007.  He was only 8 years old and in the Second Grade at the time.  I chose my photos for the Colorful Creations Song Challenge which was to use something from the lyrics of 'Private Eyes' by Hall and Oates.  I chose the phrase 'watching you'. This was a big accomplishment for him, being so young and landing one of the lead parts that had lines that needed to be memorized in only 3 days so I am entering it in the Scrapping Everyday Miracles Main Challenge #31 which called for creating something that was about an accomplishment. I embossed a tag for Top Tip Tuesday which I colored with Distress Inks and Distress Stains and Adirondack Paint Daubers and placed my title on it.   My tip is to start by using Distress Inks to edge everything and over the top of the embossing.  Next I dab a bit of stain and bit of paints on my non-stick craft sheet.  I use a cosmetic sponge to dab them in various places on the tag.  I also sometimes add a bit of Perfect Pearls on top but this time I chose not to as I wanted to be sure that my title would stand out.  I am entering it in the Kaboodle Doodles challenge #184 Music and the Arts, Kraft Journal challenge #133 Sew So Simple which called for using Kraft paper (heart and star on tag) and sewing and the Whoopsi Daisy challenge Show Us Stitching! I have also entered this in the Scrapbook.com Multi Pic Challenge calling for 3 or more photos.

And finally, here is the layout:

I really enjoyed doing this layout and remembering seeing him in the show.  I hope you have enjoyed sharing my proud Mommy moment!

SENDING HUGS & PRAYERS

Today's card was done in this week's colors from the Play Date Cafe, challenge #147 and you leave me in stitches at Our Daily Bread.  I used a background cardstock in olive green and a black and white printed paper which I inked with Distress Inks in the other three colors.  I added a doily which was inked in the evergreen and smoke and stamped with a sentiment from Our Daily Bread. I stitched down the one side with evergreen thread and I finished it off with a crinkly ribbon from 3 Girl Jam.

Here is the color palette:

and here is my card:

Hope you have enjoyed my card for the day!

Beautiful Creation

Scrapping Everyday Miracles Challenge #18 was to create a layout showing God's wonderful creation in any way you see it.  I see God's beauty all around and felt that nature was a good way to showcase it in a layout.  I went on a nature hike and took some photos.  I found beauty in the design of a tree stump, the majesty of a crane, some wild flowers, a fungus that looked like a flower and a tiny little insect.  Psalm 90 Verse 17 says 'And let the beauty of the Lord Our God be upon us.' and I felt that was a good fit.  The twist to the challenge was to be sure to incorporate some stitching so I added some scrolls up the side of the page using a green thread that resembled the green in several of the nature photos.

Here's my layout:

I hope you have enjoyed my creation showing a tiny piece of God's mighty creation.
