I finished this little charming ornament
as promised the other day.

And my stuff...

I brought Cheri's "soot&ashes" with me.

I was debating between the green/olive thread
and the black for Feather stitches.

Here is what I decided to go with -
black thread.

I have three more rows to go!

I love Feather stitch.
It's so relaxing...

There are still quite few of wool bits
need to be added.
They are leaves and berries, mainly.
The above is a Cheri's version.

And this is my latest Schnibble finish -
"Cindy Lou Who?" by Miss Rosie's Quilt Co.

Well, I originally started this one about a year ago
with the Fat 8th bundle of "Colonial Christmas"
by Judie Rothermel I purchased at
Quilter's Coop in September of 2009.

I quickly discovered that
Fat 8th bundle doesn't quite go further
to the borders.
What a sad news! lol
So I had to stop right there.

I found more of this line at
Fat Quarter's Quilt shop while we were there
and got more for the borders.

I just fell in love with this retro/vintage look
and can't stay away from them!!

My Twister is also made from the same line
with some extra addition from others of Judie's.

I'm hoping to quilt this one
to enjoy during this holiday season.
We shall see how it goes...

soot&ashes Block #13, #14 & #15 and more

"soot&ashes" Freebie
Block size: 5" sq finished

I finally got back with this lovely quilt last night
after the turkey fiesta time at our friend's.
Look!
I even got to the wool applique blocks, too :)

After I had a nice chat with Wendy
later in the afternoon,
I got a great motivation to keep up with mine.

Thank you Wendy!
I still have to cut out more wools
for the vines and such,
but I decided to make the blocks first,
then I will go from there for the rest.

The below is Cheri's finished quilt,

and this one is mine,
just being laid out.

I used Aged muslin
for the sashing and borders
as well as the background of
the wool applique blocks.

I just love this stuff!!
You don't see the effect of
how the way it is dyed in my pics,
but it has a look of the vintage/primitive.

BTW, It's Black Friday today.
Have you all gone for shopping already?

I have never done this
since moved to the U.S. xx years ago-
- I usually try to stay away from the crowds,
but today, my friends and I are going out
to our LQS to enjoy the shopping spree
in this afternoon :)))

Oops #2

This wool applique mat was also left out
while showing off all others the other day.

I've been burning fall scented soy melting tarts
since last month.
It smells sooooo good in the house :)))

"Changing Seasons"
Bits & Pieces by Joan

I love stitching pumpkins so much on anything,
but our time is running out
and it will be soon to be changed to
Christmas decoration after Turkey Day...

The rest are still sitting there to be finished.
They are all Hardanger pieces with
some drawn work techniques.

Fabric: Wichelt linen 40ct Natural
Fiber: AVAS 100/3 Creme & #500

This ons is a companion piece of the below.
I stitched up the first one
a couple of years ago,
then found out I had a little problem
finding the embellishment- extra small beads.
I finally finished up and framed it
about this time of last year
with some great helps by my blogland friends
Emma and Sanae in Japan.

They both saw and liked mine first,
then finshed theirs even before I did mine.
What's up with that? lol

Thank you both and it's that time again
to pull out from the closet to show off!
Right: "Moonlit Garden" Loose Feather #22
by BBD
Fabric: Lakeside Linens 40ct Vintage Dill
Fiber: WDW- called for the chart

I finished my fall house
even before putting my blog on vacation.
That was really fun while our weather
here in Arizona was still extremely warm!!

Then I started another fall project
as I really liked my fall house.
It's Fraidy Felix in black linen with 30ct.
Yes, 30ct in black is not something
I'm used to...
Here is a lovely antique looking pincushion
I made as a class project last month.
Linda Danielson@ Samplers Remembered
had a workshop at my LNS.

We learned how to embellish the pincushion
with the lace trim with the antique MOP buttons.
It was such a fun class learning and stitching with
all other participants,
some of us were even from out side of the state!

I've heard she is going to give another class
in early January as it was so popular
between the two classess she's already had.
"Petals for Penny Table Mat"
by Primitive Gatherings

And the last one, but not the least,
I'm also stitching this wool applique mat.

Wool applique is such a relaxing project
without any hustle.
I almost feel so sorry to finish the project
towards the end of it as it's that much fun!!

I think that's about it for now from here.
See you again some time...

Hi there...

freebie by quiltsbycheri
Fabrics: "French Quarter"
 by Paula Barne@ Marcus Fabrics

How are you all doing?
It's been for awhile
since I put my blog on vacation and
now I'm slowly coming back this way.

While I was away form the blogland,
I still had some fun with stitching and quilting
as some of you may have seen my tweets
on Twitter :)
And here is some of the finishes
to share with you.

The first one is a Cheri's miniature quilt
I absolutely had to make ;)

It looks so small in the picture by the dining set,
and it actually fits in 11" x 14" frame.
Here is a close up of the frame.

I really like the idea of framing
the doll size quilt without quilting.
I'll eventually be good at quilting though!
Then I also framed this lovely quilt
from my friend Kristine.

It was sitting on the ezel for the longest time,
then now since I've been in the great mood for
framing everything,
of course it caught my eyes and
 got to get framed!
It looks so much nicer
with others in our living room.
I love the frame with small beaded feature.
This one is 16" x 20".
Kitchen Towel
with fall wool Applique kit

I bought this kit
during our visit to Southern California
back in late August.

It was just perfect to play with :)))
Fun, easy and fast!
I have a couple more of these towels to stitch
for the holiday season.

I'll see you again soon!

Sunday's Pleasure #3- Wool Applique

"Old St. Nick Table Mat"
Size: 18" round

Ok, back to the applique now.
I prepared this wool project
to take along with to the class
we planed to join at Temecula Quilt Co.
during our trip.
And it got done shortly after
came back from there!!

Here is a picture of the close up
of the homespun plaid backing.

And two together with my pumpkin mat
made last year...

I'm ready to enjoy the fall air!!
