It was our first Sampler Sunday meeting
this year at my LNS yesterday.

It's always so nice to see the members
as well as the visitors who share
our passion for the samplers!!

Homework time

"Autumn Song - Needle Keep
Loose Feathers #27 by BBD
Fabrics: Lakeside Linens,
Unknown colourway scrap 32ct
Fiber: Belle Soie, Cranberry

It was Sampler Sunday at my LNS yesterday
and got reminded of the up coming class
next month by Linda @Samplers Remembered.

She is going to teach us
how to embelish the pincushion trim
with beautiful antique buttons.

I knew I'm supposed to finish a pincushion
prior to the class date,
but hadn't have decided what I want to stitch.

As talking to Linda yesterday,
I asked what chart she used
for her class sample and found out
I may have that same exact chart in my stash!!

Boom! Sure enough,
it was sitting on the shelf in my closet
with other unstitched LF charts...

And a sad thing is
I've even never bothered looking
what's on the back side of this chart
with such a lovely thing on it!
Sigh...

I stitched a little last night and
just finished the stitching part.
Now I will have to finish it
as a pincushion before the class...

It will be a lot of fun!!

Sampler Sunday - July

It was Sampler Sunday on last Sunday
at my LNS.

This month, we had Vicky as a guest speaker.

She gave us very interesting lecture about
what she recently discovered
while processing of her research
of the antique samplers.
It was about needlework education
as offered in the nineteenth century.
She brought and showed us
many antique books like the above
and the samplers,
but I'm afraid I can't share all the pictures here
as she is still working on another airtlcle
for SANQ magazine with them.

It was my second time attending to the meeting
with having her lecture.
Every time when she does that,
she brings us some charming gifts
for the attendees!
This time, a vintage looking envelope
with  the reproduction card.

This framed sampler was one of hers
featured on SANQ magazine.

Now time for show and tell!

Tedra's pretty needleroll.

Heather's needle case.
Is this a workshop piece?

She told us she had an opportunity
to get together with her friends
to dye these silk thread
to match with her needlecase!

Beautiful!!!

Sheila's huge red sampler has been just finished
the day before Sampler Sunday.
(Sorry, I didn't catch the name of this sampler,
but it is desgined by Sampler Cove.)

Gorgeous work!!!

What is John stitching?

And other ladies were also working on
all kinds of beautiful things...

Debbie's CHS.

Janet's CHS.

Then Linda showed me her kit
for Merry Cox Weekend in November.

Ohhhhhh, I can smell like Merry... lol

Shopping time next!!

Would you like to see what's inside of
this gorgeous cabinet?

It's filled with all sort of needlework smalls!!

I found a very interesting shape
of the pincushion...

This pincushion is for a class model by Linda
which is scheduled in early October.

She will teach us
how to make the lace trim with
the antique buttons.
There is a secret of this lace trim.
Can you tell what it is?

Everything in the shop was very tempting as always...

We had such a bad heat wave
(Is there any good heat wave anyway?)
on that day...
But we all had such a wonderful time!!!

Now guess where I'm heading to?

Yes, another fun place with
fun people for our monthly
SSQSG meeting at my LQS ;)

Sampler Sunday - May

It was Sampler Sunday on last Sunday at my LNS, The Attic. It's always very nice to see all the stitcher's getting together. But you know how dangerous could be!?

The topic of this month was French Samplers. Yes, there are many stitched in my favorite color red!

Show & Tell is also a fun part of our meeting.

Walking around the shop is a brave thing to do!

As we've all heard about the sad news of Kathy@ CHS is going to be retiring, I'm sure we are going to be very busy with shopping her charts! I've bought three of them so far and still thinking about a couple of more. It's that time again!

And more and more goodies.

I'm in the mood for the Halloween stitching lately, but trying to behave for another month or two.

Our treat was Triple Chocolate cake@ Cheesecake Factory. It was a huge piece ;)
