Craft Stamper Inspiration

Every now and again I get a guilt trip about my collection of magazines (do like a bit of eye candy!!) that I read once and do't try out anything. Rather more frequently I have an even bigger guilt trip about all the stamps I have that don't get used. Looking back through my blog it would seem I am not as much of a stamper as my level of supplies would suggest. So looking for kick start here's a card and tag made following a tut in January's Craft Stamper. The colours really called to me.

I didn't follow the instructions exactly (well, what did you expect?) but pretty pleased with them all the same. So then I did my own version in different colours. Like these too.

One thing I did decide after all this time is that I don't like working with inks direct to my card blank. However careful I am to clean as I go I always get ink all over the back and then the finished project looks a mess. So in future I will do all my inkwork as a topper and then mount on the card blank. Looks much better. Oh and the blogger photo thing is still not resolved . I have managed however to get the photos the right way up but does mean I can't edit anything I want to publish as I think that may have been why they were turning around. So much more careful initial framing is required, not just my happy snap that I crop later. That can only be a good thing right? LOL see ya soon.

Ruby Wedding Card

Just wanted to quickly share a ruby wedding card for a friend. I had made a rich red background with DI's and a bit of gilding flakes and thought it would be ideal for this project. I have been waiting to use this adorable LOV image for a card and frankly, I'm a bit fed up with all those layered weddingy embossed pearl cards I've been doing. I don't care if it's a 'young' image, I like it!! (And they must have been together since they were about that big!)

I can't decide whether to put a '40' on the front - inside it says their name and  'Congratulations on your ruby wedding'. Whadya think? Or is it rubbing it in LOL?

Here are a few tags put together with some of  those bits n bobs that were in my WIP pile, odd images, bits of inky paper and backgrounds that looked promising etc. Quite pleased with these.

That's all for now!!

Beach Huts

I made this card for my best friend who has a findness for beach huts - in  fact when I saw this Michael Powell stamp a couple of months ago I bought it with her in mind.

The stepper effect was a bit of a challenge (as ever) so after a couple of attempts I decided to go with the Debbi Moore school of card making - I was watching her the other day and she said   'I never measure' . So abandoning the wonky ones I just did it by eye - and voila it worked. Not sure it would help with the boxmaking though.

Backing paper is Crafty Individuals, colouring - promarkers.

Bye for now, Cindy

TioT - Bingo Card with a twist!!

This week at Try it on Tuesday we have a bingo card challenge.

The twist is that you have a butterfly on your project as well as  following one of the lines.

I've never done one of these before but here is my attempt for the DT. The line I chose was the diagonal one, 1 Diecut, 2 Backing Papers, 3 gems. I realised afterwards that a bit of ribbon crept on there too  but close enough I think!!

Would love for you to come and join in with us, you can make any type of project as long as you follow the Bingo card instructions - let us know which line you choose!!

Please remember that if you want to be included in our Monthly Prize Draw and be eligible for Top 5 you must only link your project to 5 challenges in total including TioT.

Other than that, it's up to you!! Can't wait to see this week's entries.

What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday #153

I know we all say it, but Wednesday again? Really? Yes it is, and that means it's time to hop around the crafty blogroll that is hostedby Julia Dunnit at Stamping Ground each week. Everyone posts a piccy of their workspace and invites you in for a look... Pop on over and join in the fun if you dare!!

Not too much 'me' art this week, have been fulfilling commitments, decorating (yuk yuk double yuk) and finishing off commissions so the desk hasn't got a lot new on it. The bodyform thingy must have been there 6 months at least, I think it's rooted. I have at last got my velcro dots so I can sort out my ink blending pads - that box is just a mess!! Next week's priority job I think!

Because of the restructure at work we have a rake of VRs and retirees all leaving at once and I have been asked to make some of the cards.
Just thought I would share this one I am working on.

Here's the brief:
- feminine
- loves Provence
- loves flowers
- can you put a duck on it somewhere
- and a Dodo. Just a little one. Somewhere.
- oh, her name's Pam.

The dodo is going inside, in the corner of the insert.

Job done?

PS. I am very late. Scheduled post failed to post. C'est la vie, but I'd written it so I'm posting it!! Cindy x
