Welcome to my blog, a happy place where I post about my handmade creations as well as inspirations and other bits and pieces. I love cross-stitch, sewing, crochet and crafting and own my own small handmade business - Plushka's Craft. Being of the Russian heritage I treasure handmade crafts and love spending time creating things by hand. I cannot imagine my life without hand-stitching, hot chocolate and Mr. Plushkin, bright tights and suede shoes (in no particular order).
Founded in late 2009, Plushka became a label for handmade felt toys, unique gifts and home decorations, all handmade in a little corner of our living room that we lovingly call Plushka's HQ or studio. Plushka creations are not only for the little ones but also for their parents who appreciate having handmade, practical and unique pieces as a part of their everyday life.
Here is a little story behind Plushka's brand:
Creating from felt is my passion and I enormously enjoy making toys. It's not easy creating a perfect design and sometimes it takes me 6-8 months to perfect one pattern but it's is such an enjoyable process and the result is so rewarding!
I was also lucky that the first toy that I made - baby owl - became very popular and it gave me a boost of confidence to create other toys like penguin, rabbit, frog, hedgehog and elephant. I recently released a new toy - Fox, that has a great response and I am having fun experimenting with new colours!
My felt collections creations:
"For your craftroom from Plushka" - a collection of felt pincushions that I am planning on extending in a full line of goodies.
Although, I consider felt toys as a first and most popular range, there are other creations that I love including in my collections like crochet items - baskets, coasters and flowers.
However, long before the toys, crochet and felt creations, the love for cross-stitch got me into making things. I learned this craft as a child and would love to see it coming back in fashion. I am a strong believer in cross-stitch one day becoming more popular then other types of embroidery. I try to use it as often as possible in my creations that include key rings, notebook covers and New Year decorations.

It's been an enormous leaning curve for me since I've started Plushka's Craft. There were ups and downs but I am so happy and grateful that I have the opportunity to do what I love. It's only the beginning and I cannot wait to see what other year will bring!
