Reindeer, Snow People and a Party

First off, a card and a color combination that goes a bit "out of the box"!
I used the Colour Q challenge for my card along with some Hero Arts stamps.  The color combination says "halloween" but I wanted to see if I could adapt it to a Winter/Christmas theme.
I am in love with this cute reindeer and his purple sweater!
Here is the Colour Q combo.
I also wanted to play with a brand new sketch blog, CAS(e) this Sketch.  The thought would be to keep the card simple so I tried to do just that.
I interpreted the sketch as having some kind of a design that goes across the bottom edge of the card.  I did this by stamping the Paper Smooches dot border stamp twice, it was inked by rubbing a Distress Stain directly to the stamp.  I adore Kim's snow people so this guy seemed like the perfect accent.  He is a simple addition since he is supposed to be white making for a limited amount of coloring needed.
 Here is the CAS(e) Sketch.
This card puts to use The Play Date Cafe combination.  I have wanted to do a card with some long banners on it so I used that look to put the colors together on my card.
Instead of a plain white background, I used a stencil and just put color in a few places on the card.
Here is a close up of my little banners.
And, here is The Play Date Cafe combination.

World Card Making Day and some Cards

This is the day that just plain makes me happy, World Card Making Day!
A day set aside just for all of us who LOVE making cards.  Of course, I want to share some cards with you.
I created this card around The Play Date Cafe color combination. This was the combo for last week so it is too late to add it to the collection on their blog but I still love the colors and how my card turned out.
The zig zag is a Hero Arts stamp.  I stamped it in the Plum and then colored the background with an orange stamp pad. The label shape and the leaf sprig are cut with the Cricut and the butterfly is from Pebbles.
Here is The Play Date Cafe combo.
Next up, I wanted to play along with the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger.
I chose to use numbers for my card instead of the alphabet letters that are in the Trigger.
The number stamp is from Kaiser Craft.  After I stamped it, I colored the background with a variety of stamp pads and spreay inks because I wanted a mix of colors since the Trigger has several different colors in it.
Next up, I used the challenge at A Blog Named Hero - to use white cardstock only.
All of the stamps are by Hero Arts.  I stamped the plaid background stamp on the white cardstock with a brown ink and then colored that with stamp pads and spray colors.
The little line of children, the phrases and the chevron border are all stamped on the piece of paper that the plaid background stamp was stamped on.

Comfort - Pull up a chair and get your coffee cup

Some fun projects to share...
I used this amazing chair stamp by Gourmet Stamps and the color combination at The Play Date Cafe.  The little red square border is a die from My Favorite Things. I cut extras of these and they are sitting on my desk. I seem to be reaching for them for so many projects!
The sentiment is also from Gourmet Stamps. I love this little combination.
Isn't this The Play Date Cafe combo amazing! I want to use it over and over.
Now for my card for Card Positioning Systems blog with My Favorite Things as our sponsor.
The girl stamp and the hexagons shapes are die from My Favorite Things.
Here is the CPS sketch.

Balloons, Flowers and Squares

I love sharing new creations.
First up, the card I created to go along with the Card Positioning Systems sketch.  My Favorite Things is our sponsor for the month and so I used this adorable little girl stamp.

While I love coloring in these images, I also love the "less is more" idea of leaving her mostly black and white.  I outlined the black stamped image with a very light blue and added some lines to the balloon for a plaid look.
This is the CPS sketch.
And, since I love using color challenges, this card is for The Play Date Cafe challenge.
I am in love with this die from My Favorite Things stamps so it seemed like a great way to use the soft and wonderful colors in the combo.
Here is The Play Date Cafe combo.
Now for my last card, I used another sketch from the past at Freshly Made sketches
The flowers are a stamp from Verve, colored with Copic markers.
This is the Freshly Made sketch I used.  (Not sure how I did this again, but I missed the cut off for adding this the FM web site)
And for some photos...
One grandson is playing football and this one is playing soccer this season, so that is where we were on Saturday.  Let me tell you, he keeps up quite the pace.  You get tired just watching him.

Can you see that I caught both of his feet off of the ground! Pretty cool.

Some Stamping Time

Time to play...
Weekends tend to be rather busy with all kinds of activities, but I still love to find crafting time.  I so wanted to play with this wonderful The Play Date Cafe color combination.  It ended up being a simple bit of this and that.
All of the really dark colored pieces are a navy blue, they look rather black in the photos.  The sentiment is a stamp by Ali Edwards and the other stamps are by Hero Arts.
Here is The Play Date Cafe combo.
And, I want to share my Card Positioning Systems card for this week. Once in a while a sketch becomes an instant favorite and this is one of those.
I was sitting, playing with a set of stamps from Wplus9 Designs and this was one of the little combinations I came up with.  Cutting it in a circle and using it for this sketch was just right. I accented it with a bit of Liquid Pearls and the white cardstock is embossed with my Cuttlebug.
Here is that great CPS sketch, you should try it.
And for a couple photos...
Part of our busy weekend included being at one of our grandson's football game. He has to be the best looking football player ever.  I would say he is cute but don't tell him that!  He might be getting too old for those words.
He is #42, right there in front. I loved how seriously he took his responsibilities as being part of the team.
 Here is one action shot.
This big smile has to do with a great game, 30-1, his teams favor!

Stamped images

I wanted to share a couple cards with you today.

I used stamp images to create my cards.  First off, some great medallions from Wplus9 Designs. I love "doily" style images.  I used the simple color combination challenge at The Play Date Cafe for my card.
What is fun is that I really could have made this card any color after I stamped the two shapes of the medallions. I did emboss the images with clear embossing powder.  That makes the image stable for using water, etc.  I used a watercolor crayon and scribbled that in the middle of the images and then used a water brush to finish the look.  I then sprayed the entire card with Shimmerz Paintz Coloringz.  It was the exact color to work with the color challenge.
Here is The Play Date Cafe combo.
Next up, my Card Positioning Systems card for this week.  All month long our sponsor has been The Stamps of Life and my main focus was her great hexagon stamp set.  The sentiment and the second sentiment are from another set by her.
I just love the different patterns she has for her hexagons and I used one of Stephanie Barnards Colorbox stamp pads too.
Here is the CPS sketch we are working with.
