Bombshell + Gauche Alchemy = One Hot Hop!

Hello dah-links!

GA & Bombshell have teamed up this month for a major-mojo-lifting super-hot hop!  The theme this month is 'Some Like It Hot' - and that obviously fits both companies to a 'G'!  (Yup, no typo there... think, 'String'.... Bwahaha!)

So what'd I come up with?  This:
This will be heading to my shoe-fiend best friend for her 25th birthday.  I used Bombshell's 'Girl's Ruin' set; I'm not thrilled with how nylons turned out... but it was 3am and I was NOT starting over!  (LOL)  The shoe is covered in Fruit Punch & Black Diamond Stickles.  And pulling double-duty here, there are a few bits & bobs from Gauche Alchemy's Pink Parts & Black Out colour kits.

You can carry on the rest of the hop by following the links!

Bombshell Stamps - July Hop!

Hey all!

Thanks for popping in today - hopefully you enjoy another Bombshell Hop! Today's theme was 'She's a Firecracker, Alright!' - and to play along, we wanted to see something that is at least one of these things:

- red, white & blue
- Firecrackers (Bombshell Pin-Ups, for example)
- Military themed, or
- Sparkling like a firecracker!

Gee, bet you can't guess what I went with!

Why, sparkles, of course! I guess blue, white & pink kind of fits, too - it's close enough to red! =) Mermaid Treasure & I thought so, anyway!

I did the unthinkable (for me) with this card - I did what the card wanted, and not what was logical. What am I ever going to do with a card that says 'looking for my prince'?! For one thing, I've already got mine!

Anyway, I've babbled enough - you better run along & check out the rest of the hop!

Laters!

Hey all!

Welcome to a special edition Bombshell hop! Us DT girls thought we'd get together & create some ATCs for a DT-only swap, using our fave Bombshell stamp. The main attraction here is that eventually, I'm going to take one of each & create a special little Bombshell black book for our head hottie, Shannon! (Psst - forget you just read that, Shannon... LOL!)

Anyway, my fave is definitely Cherry Bomb... and when I asked Scott & Emily which of my Bombshells they thought was most 'me' that's who they chose. (Awwww.... lol!) This little hunny is coloured up with Copics & Smooch (Pink Taffy) on her outfit, shoes & cherry (and on this one in particular, her lips. Looks like crap; didn't do it on the others!). Behind her is some of the waxed paper that I usually put on my work surface when spraying things with Glimmer Mist... but this one also includes a bunch of Smooch Spritz & Shimmerz Spritz, all in various colours. The base of the ATC is also spritzed with the same wacky concoction of spritzes/mists... and I added a few nail gems (got a zillion off EvilBay forever ago; this link is just to show what I used, it's not where I bought them) on the top right-hand side of the black layer, as well as in the centre of her flower.

Oh yes, and I wanted to say a quick thanks to all who participated - all of the ATCs look awesome! Mine have gone into THIS totally kick-ass tin our DT Captain Kathi made just for me - SUPER thanks, Kathi!!!!! (Said in my best childish voice: *neener, neener, I got pretties made just for me, and you didn't*....LMAO!)

And now that you've (hopefully) been inspired, head on off to check out what the other chickies were up to - lots of yumminess to see!

Bombshell June Hop!

Hey all!

Welcome to Bombshell Stamp's June Hop! The theme this month was to create something with a dude in mind... and the Monthly challenge is to create a memory box of sorts... so I combined the challenges & created this trinket box for my Mr.

I used Bombshell's 'Rise & Shine' set for the image, as well as some parts from Gauche Alchemy's 'Winter Slush' and 'Scarlet Fever' colour kits. I found the metal mesh in a local shop & the box is from Stampin' Up. (I bought a gazillion of them on clearance... lol!)

Anyway, best carry on the hop & see what other greatness is out there - peace out, dudes!

Mojo Monday # 128

Slippin' this in under the wire....

IRL, the yellows in the image (from Bombshell Stamps - Hula Girl set) truly do match the yellow papers.
(Look - my 'mantra' worked! I cranked out 4 cards yesterday, and should have more time to play today, too!)

Oh, Alice! Challenge #1 - Glam It Up!

(If you haven't yet, be sure to enter my blog candy here!)

So I finally got my entry made for the the very first ever Oh, Alice challenge. I have to say, again, that it's not my favorite. I had the image coloured (and I DO love it) however, once it was done, I had no idea what to do with it! All that shimmer you see isn't really that chunky and weird looking; it's Spica pen, so IRL its very subtle. Lots of shimmer & shine on this one... and if you're wondering how this is related at all to the inspiration piece, it's all about the caterpillar.

And yes, I know I already posted this as part of the Bombshell Hump Day Hop, but instead of overloading that post, I'm just reposting this here. It's glam, it's blue (Alice's dress is the inspiration there) and black (the makeup case is where that's from). And, it follows PaperWorks Co's Sunday Sketch #21. In case you didn't see/aren't planning on looking at the Hop post, the deets are:

silver tin, painted with acylic paint; Doodlebug Sugar Coating glitter sprinkled on when the paint was still wet; old BoBunny paper - I think I bought something like 20 sheets each of the pink, blue & green designs, because I love them so much (I will definitely cry when I run out); Bombshell's Mermaid Treasure set; and blue rhinestones.

Can't hardly wait for the next Alice challenge! Thanks for stopping by!
Steph

Bombshell February Hop!

(If you haven't already, don't forget to enter my blog candy here!)
Welcome to the February Bombshell Hump Day Hop! The challenge for this month was

'Momma Said Knock You OUT'!

Ms. InkyButton wanted us to break out our punches and/or Nesties this month, so here's what I came up with:

This actually uses an old PaperWorks Co. Sunday Sketch (#20), where we were to focus on frames. I used my rectangle Nesties to create the frame out of Chocolate Chip cardstock, and then stamped on that with the SU! Sanded background stamp and Chocolate Chip ink. That whole piece is popped up from the base of the card, and the frame itself is popped up from the image, also. I threw in a piece of acetate, to mimick the look of the plate of glass that normally accompanies a framed piece of art. Throw all that on top of some wallpaper-y looking background paper, along with a gold brad & some gold twine, and you've got yourself a framed image on Grandma's wall...which, btw, will be used for my mil's birthday card this year. Oh, and in case you're wondering, that pretty little bird & banner are from the 'Til Death set.

And since I've decided I really, really, really am not happy with this card, check back around 9am CST - it's midnight now, I'm in the middle of a way cooler project, and I'll add it in the morning, once there's sunlight! (All the better to photograph you with, my dear...muahahahahahaaaaaaaaa.....)

ETA: Here's the new project - this time we're using PWCO's Sunday Sketch #21 (the current one) and Bombshell's Mermaid Treasure set - the same set that is in my blog candy. (Not THE one in the candy...lol, that one is brand spankin' new)

It's a little SU! skinny silver tin (also like in the candy); I bought something like 50 of the suckers, so it's time to get using them! I painted it with two coats of acrylic paint, and while the second coat was still wet, I sprinkled on some Doodlebug Sugar Coating glitter that was the same blue. Then I PUNCHED two 2" circles and one 2.5" circle, coloured & cut out my mermaid & attached everything with Tacky Tape (yum!). And of course, I couldn't forget the bling!

Now - go check out what the rest of the Bombshell DT & everyone else that joined in have been up to!

Diedrich Dare #23

(If you haven't already, don't forget to enter my candy located here!)
So The Great Randi is hostessing the challenge over at the Whimsical Wednesday challenge blog this week, and is therefore to blame for this offering. It's a tribute to her work, but obviously, it's done my way (and doesn't come anywhere near the grandness of hers!).
The challenge was to use Light Olive/Avocado, Hot Pink/Raspberry, Pink/Rose and Sky Blue/Light Aqua... so I did - {pink in the pearls, seaweed & her tail; olive on her tail, in the seaweed & pearls; blue along the bottom, in the seaweed, the pearls, & the flower in her hair; and last but not least, hot pink for her hair, in the seaweed & the pearls} . And since I have no Glimmer Mist (oh, how I covet thee...) I just painted the whole freakin' front with Angel Wings Shimmerz. And that glittery blue streak on the bottom? It's this funky Elmer's Glitter Paint Art Glaze stuff that I found in the kids crafts/office section at Zellers. Fun! Oh, and of course, pearls. Always pearls with my pretty Bombshell Mermaid!

Bombshell Nose Art

Ok, so the photos suck, but I had what I feel to be a stroke of genius the other night - just in time to add to Scotty's Valentine's Day present.

I used Cherry Bomb again (IMO, she's the most versatile...but what do I know?) and the 'No Regrets' banner from the Girl's Ruin set... a little bit of Glossy Accent for the circle, with the intention of having it look shiny like paint - I would have used paint, except my paint is still in Brandon, and I didn't really want to drive 3 hours for paint. Maybe I'll redo that part later... Oh, and the 'metal' is tinfoil. The rivet lines are made with a CutterBee pokey thingy that I found in one of my desk drawers... I don't even remember buying it!

It's not totally done, because I'm going to build a frame for it...but thanks to the snow, I can't get to the garage. It'll just have to wait; I'll re-post this in the spring sometime, when I can complete it.
(As an aside, it's done to look like it's a piece of the aircraft, torn from the nose area, where the Nose Art would have typically appeared.)
Laters,
Steph

PS - Don't forget about the blog candy!
PPS - Don't let the giant devil face in the Cherry Bomb set scare you off - check out Nicole's use of him here.

Bombshell February Sketch Challenge...

which is almost the same sketch as shown at CPS this week... So I'm entering it for both, although I'm following the BSS sketch closer; it's the more detailed of the two.

Just because...

Hey all,

Here's my first go at using SU!'s treat cups....but since I wasn't sure how the recipient would feel about various edible candies, I decided to put in some crafty candy instead - a random mix of clear buttons.

And, since I didn't want her to have to tear the card to get the buttons, I made a removeable insert instead...which now can double as a bookmark - no sense in wasting paper! =)

(Front - above)

(Back)
The cherries are all glittered...and I sprinkled some more glitter in the Mod Podge, too. The white ink on the monogram smeared a bit...but I think I like the effect. There was some glow-in-the-dark glitter on the monogram, too - but who knows if it's still there. (I'll test it later!)

Oh, by the way - the funky pointing hand and the cherries are from Bombshell's Cherry Bomb set.

It's February...

And that means I'm the Monthly Pin-up for Bombshell Stamps!

My challenge for this month is to get
Wet & Wild!!!!
My sample:
(using the Mermaid Treasure set)

It's built like a tank; it's about 1/4 inch thick, and the mermaid & treasure chest are both popped up. The fish & seaweed were heat embossed with holographic powder... and the front cover looks like wet glass...

Everything was stamped on a shimmery sapphire blue paper...

And the sea floor is a 1/2 inch wide strip of red-lined tape, covered in microbeads & crystal fine glitter... there are some pearls added to the treasure... and to the mermaid's flower...

There's a funky key from my stash to unlock the treasure chest...

And although you can't see it, there's lots of extra sparkle thanks to the Spica pens used to accent her tail.

Let's see what you can come up with - enter it on the Forum {HERE} and get yourself an entry into the draw for this month's prize package!

Later,

Steph!

Bombshell Notebook

Holy Bombshell, Batman!

Obviously, I've been on a Bombshell roll - gearing up for my stint as Ms. February! This is just a composition notebook that I altered in about 10 minutes. The cover was already the B&W checkerboard print, and I already had most of the image panel done from an impromptu class I taught to my sister-in-law & her friends back in...October? Anyway, all I did was add the bottom shimmery aqua mat, and the 'Bombshell' tag, and then slap it on the cover of the book.

Ta-daaaa! Easy.

Bombshell's January Hump Day Hop!

Hey all,
We at Bombshell have decided to quit the weekly DT-Only Hump Day Hops.... but not to worry - we've switched to a monthly-everyone-welcome Hump Day Hop instead! (YAY!)

Check out the info here.

Anyway, my Alter-native Medicine project is this plastic intended-to-be-photo-storage case, which not only received a little Bombshell love, but also is now doubling as a gift package. (And now, Mr. Roboto by Styx is playing in my mind....'secret, secret, I've got a secret....')

That's it from me, Ladies & Gents...now go check out what the other Bombshells have done!

Bombshell January Sketch Challenge

Hey all,

This is my entry for the January Sketch Challenge happening over at Bombshell stamps:

I know it's SUPER bling-heavy...but I had fun, and I suppose that's all that really matters. It also fits Ms. January's Valentine Challenge, but I have another card to use for that (I'll post it later). I did the inside of this one, as well - thanks Nicole, for the inspiration to stop being lazy and actually do this - I think I'm starting to like it!

That's all, folks.
