You Say Goodbye, I Say Hello!

This is it for 2013!

One of my favorite fabrics I played with this year was by Lakehouse.
Pam Kitty Morning has the sweetest fabric lines!

I made these two quits, Strawberry Social and Butter Mints.
They were made with PKM Picnic.


I had the honor this year of putting together a blogger's choice group for Fat Qaurter Shop.
(Anothe rhighlight of the year)
As you can see... there were several Lakehouse and PKM fabrics in the group.


Don't you think Pam would have to be so sweet in order to come up with
such adorable fabric?
This is the next pattern I want to make with the PKM collection...




But today....

I thought I would have a one day giveaway for these two patterns.

Hello 2014!

Did I Mention?

That I was able to finish one more quilt this year?
I think it makes #13 (in 2013)!
It ended up being 90 x 94.

I had it pieced earlier this summer but I wasn't happy
about the quilting... so I ignored this
project until the last minute, out of frustration.
Finally I ripped out the quilting and
took it back to the LAQer.
I don't think the quilting really shows up in the photo
but I am much happier now.
And better yet, so is the person I made this for!

I had to copy Thelma's tree topper from last year...
I found it on Etsy and
it arrived a few days before Christmas!

I think it just makes the tree a bit more whimsical.
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and
are still enjoying the holiday!

The magic of the season is here!

I hope you enjoy the last few hours of rushing, cooking, wrapping, 

and remember to enjoy each moment.

Not Too Shabby

I always seem to forget the quilts I finish and focus on the ones 

that didn't get completed... and in some cases, even started.

But I am going to take a moment to breath and 

take a look back at my year.

My latest finish.

Nantucket. 

Midwinter Reds by Minick and Simpson.

I can't wait to get this one quilted.

   

These are a couple of samples that I made for FQS, the top one is Strawberry Social.

This one is going to my grand daughter. Then there is Butter Mints... so cute! Both quilts are made with Pam Kitty Morning fabric. I have to admit... I am addicted to PKM fabrics. As if two quilts aren't enough... I have plans for two more quilts using her latest collection!

And then there is Ms. Thimble Blossoms little (I mean little) 

but way too cute to pass up making!

This is the Summer Wind pattern by Miss Rose's Quilt Co. using 

High Street... a project I did with Ms. Cupcake.

I really had fun with this one!

This was a super fun and fast quilt I made using the Missouri Quilt Co. 

You Tube video. 

This one is on it's way back to me.

It was a sample I made for FQS using Minick and Simpson fabrics.

I can't wait to get this one in my hands again.

I think this was my favorite for the year. 

It is Shine. Pattern by Sherri at A Quilting Life.

A fun little hexi quilt. It was an easy pattern.

I wanted to get the binding on so fast... that I forgot I had wanted to

make the border scalloped! Dang it.

A quilt that I got done using my my Blogger's Choice bundle from FQS.

I finished in time to have it entered into my local quilt show.

A sweet finish hanging behind my new sewing table made by my son.

Wouldn't this quilt look good in holiday fabrics too?

I got to make Swoon... which I love, made out of 

fabric by Carrie Nelson!

 Then there was a few Schnibbles that got made!

MIdweek Mosaic: Decorating the Tree

This tree was quite an adventure from the beginning!
I managed to get a 9' tree inside my car to start with.
I didn't want it on top because it was dark and I was afraid to have to fix something
in route on my way home. But that is only the beginning. Getting it out of the
car was a whole other story! I nearly met my match! I am so glad no one was watching...
or listening, when my butt hit the horn! I tried from the front seat, then the back seat...
which was interesting... then finally pulling it out from the back of the SUV.
Then, when I had it all decorated with it's 15 strands of lights....
I took a break for a few, and when I came back into the room...
90 percent of the lights blew out!
Ugggg!
Two days later, I was back on track!
Did I mention that I pulled my back out while this was going on?
But it was all worth it!

Thanks so much for helping me find that pattern of Jovial in my last post! I am tickled pink to have it in my collection... and to top things off I saw the new fabric from Sweetwater today!
It might just be the perfect fabric for that pattern!
Woohoo!

I have been looking for the perfect new 

Christmas CD. I like a wide variety of music

and each year I purchase one new CD.

My inspiration for putting up the decorations

and setting the theme of my holiday.

This year there were some very good 

artists with some beautiful music...

but I found one that had a lot of swagger 

in it. 

This artist is new to me...

but probably one you have heard of.

At least you might have heard of it if you

like the Big Band Era and Swing.

The name of the band is Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.

(I am guessing that they originated from New Orleans).

I need some of these to add to my ornament collection!

My new vow is to purchase at least one of her creations every year!

I'm so sorry for the parade delay! 

I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday weekend!

Mine started out perfect... lots of food and family. 

And it's so fun to have little ones here under foot during the kitchen kayos.

An added bonus for a growing family.

My DDIL and I did take the leap and drive to the big city

to partake in the shopping madness... however, the last couple of days

have had me down with the flu and feeling less than human.

I think I have it kicked now though... aside from the aching bones!

Sherri and I are not announcing a project for December. 

I think that we usually do this. Things are busy enough for everyone!

We will announce the next Vintage Schnibbles on January 1st! 

 We have a beautiful day with clear skies... So let's start this parade!

Morning Jo. It just sparkles!

Nancy made sweet version of version #1 here with the fabric group Giggles!

This is one I would love to curl up under!

Patty at A Stitch In Time blog made a lovely 4 block version that she is calling Snowflake!

Isn't is so sweet? Did you notice the color placement on each block?

It's very pretty with the controlled palate.

Paulette (no blog) made a beautiful version of Morning Jo using

a soft and sweet color palate.

It is stunning Polly! She found a nice grey flannel for the backing to make it extra cozy!
