50 Plus! & My Weekend Endevors

I am so amazed at the wonderful response Sherri and I have had regarding A Year of Schnibbles.
It seems that we all agree... that it will be fun! I will be adding more people to my list on the sidebar today. I think we have about 50 people signed up! 50!@!#*! That is- so far! We are still taking sign ups for the club until Sept. 1st. We are going to have the best Schnibbles Parades! Of course you don't HAVE to finish your Schnibbles every month. But, I think we will because they are pretty easy & not very big.
So, I have been working on my first Schnibbles pattern that I will reveal on September 1st to kick-off the start of our club. I wish I could show it to you, but since I can't I will have to show you what else I am working on.
(Maybe I can give you a sneak peak latter this week)
Here are a couple of "travel size" pillow cases that I made. I used the border print from Roman Holiday... I loved that group!
I made this little table runner with Arcadia by Moda. Jill and I both made them... I thought I was doing good until I spoke to her and she told me that she had already quilted hers and had it on her dinning table! Arg!
Here is my little loot from Cottage Quilts. Just a few fun patterns... I think I already have the Little Acorn pattern. Don't you hate that when you buy a pattern twice? It was on sale though. I also picked up my Mill House Inn charm packs to start working on the Fig Tree Club shop sample! I love this group... and the little polka dot dessert roll that goes along with it!
The class I taught at Cottage Quilts over the weekend went "okay". I had 2 people come without sewing machines though... maybe I wasn't explicit enough on the class supply list???

Sewing Room Activities

I can't resist showing you my new lamp. It came to me last week, and I "heart" it! However, Saturday morning came and it was the first time I got to see it with the light coming in the window and reflecting off the glass... I had little rainbows on the walls of my living room! Right then, my love grew deeper. So silly, but really, it's so true.

As the weekend progressed I did get to visit my sewing room here and there and made some more progress on my Confetti blocks. But my attention got diverted and I was feeling the need for some instant gratification.
Okay, I confess here... I fused this! But I'm talking instant gratification, so fusing seemed okay. For those of you who know the pattern, I know that you will see some "backward" details. I have that worked out too. I'm left handed, so my sash should tie on the other side! I still need to put in the wording (handmade) across the top. Maybe I can get to that some evening this week.

But that's not all! I still needed bigger instant gratification! I still had out my Shangra-la fabrics that I used for my Dresden's and thought I would try to use up some more of that line in a sweet little pattern from Camille. I have left the stitching around the
fused pieces, again, for a mid-week project.

I was happy with my play-time. We still managed to go visit my dad and his wife and go out to dinner; visited with some friends of ours at brunch; and Todd & Jill came over for dominoes & dinner on Sunday... and Jill did the cooking!!! I love that girl!
I ran over to the LQS to talk with Donna, the owner during my lunchtime today. I snapped a few pics of her store samples that I thought I would share:

Enjoy! Thanks for stopping by!

One Step Forward, Two Steps Back (or more)

I taught a class at Cottage Quilts over the weekend. It was a lot of fun... nice people! One brand new quilter in the bunch... we did our best to be a bad influence on her. The newbe and two of the other girls even signed up for my retreat! Whoohoo!
I couldn't help myself when I found this pattern over the weekend! I had seen Sherri at A Quilting Life working on this and it looked like fun. I had some Aviry fabric in my stash and was able to get it all ready to go... because I am almost done with the Fig Tree Turnover project.

I just need to get these rows sewed together and the borders on and wha-la!
Here is another project spinning around in my head that I want to get to. It's Pam Kitty Morning's new purse pattern. I thought I would like to try it out in some of the vinyl covered fabric in Shangra-la and the coordinates to it. I can see that it will be cute in any fabric group!

I don't know what I am going to do with these yet. I started collecting the pink and just added a little to it with some fat quarters that were on sale at Cottage Quilts. I'm kinda of leaning towards basket blocks... what do you think?

Here's a little bundle that might work for the purse pattern too!

A plethora of directions to go in! I have this sweet charm pack of Bunny Hill fabrics that Cottage Quilt made up. A Snibble might be the answer but I am really getting into the Dresden Plates also... decisions, decisions!

So as the weekend ended... I was ahead with my Fig Tree shop sample project but I seem to have a bunch of projects to add to my list!
