Bright and Cheery

Hello lovelies and wooohooo, it's the weekend at last.

So I thought I'd show you another bright and cheery card I made using the newest set of showcase dies ....

... these here.
It's the same set that I used for the bee card yesterday but this time I used one of the 4 flowers and I went with the daffodil.

Wouldn't this be a nice set if your were making cards for Marie Curie - I only just thought of that!!

So firstly I made my background by just taking a piece of watercolour card, dropping some of the ink from some Nuvo Aqua Flow pens, spritzing it so that the colours ran and leaving it to dry.

Once it was dry, I cut out a piece to go across my card. I added a narrow strip of black card and a lace border in black, cut from the Luxurious Lace die set.

For the daff,  I cut out the backing piece in white and the main design in back and glued them together.

I used alcohol pens to colour in some detail but them I cut another flower from the leftover watercolour card and paper pieced the other areas. I wanted the add a bit of texture as these parts would be raised higher as the card is thicker.

You can't really see it here but IRL you can.

Then I just stuck the flower onto the card.
I love that the colours really pop here.

And there we are, all done.
I've added my affiliate links below and I'll see you soon.
Till then, take care and please stay safe and well and enjoy your weekend xxx

A Bit of Colouring For a Change (no, really, it's been ages).

Well, it's been a while, it's true.
But I  woke the pens up at the weekend, and also the Polychromos pencils!!

I figured that seeing as I had 2 new eyes, I might as well try them out. And I'm delighted to confirm that I can now really actually see to colour, wooohooo!!

And this is what I did.

The gorgeous image is a Polkadoodles Gnome  and he is the North Pole Gnome (jeez I adore Nikky's images). And this one is on offer at the mo so check it out my lovelies!!

He is so easy to colour and I have to confess that I cased Nikky's colours from the packet lol.

I used a mixture of Copics and Polychromos pencils to colour him and these are the Copics I used -

Gnome -
C00, C01, C02, C03,C04, C05,C07, C09, R02, R05, R17, R27, R59, W00, W01, W03, W05

Holly -
R05, R17, R27, R59, YG0000,YG00, YG01, YG03, YG95, YG99

Grounding-
C00, C01, BG00, BG01, BG02

Once I'd finished with the pens, I just added some depth using the pencils. I'm planning on doing a video for this technique soon so stay tuned. It just adds a little something extra to your images I think.

I made the cute little pine cones using one of the dies from the Tonic Studios Designer Choice 13 - Luxurious Lace, and there is a vid coming within the next week on how I did these - hope you like them.

I added a bit of glitter to them and you can just see it catching the light.

IRL it looks quite pretty!!

That beautiful border is again made with the Designer Choice Lace set. I added some faux stitching to the border, paper, image and sentiment to kind of bring it all together.

Those papers - swoon - are Polkadoodles Christmas Holidays Blessings and they are part of a 6x6 paper pack. They work so well with the gnomes. And the sentiment I used is from the Polkadoodles Christmas Fishes stamp set.

So that's my first colouring all done and I suspect that more will now follow 😀.

I missed it so much but honestly, before the eye ops I literally could barely see to use die cuts, let alone this.

Right I better be off.

I hope you like the card and I'll see you again very soon.

Take care, look after yourselves and stay safe and well xxx

Morning lovelies and hope everybody is safe and well today.

Friday 13th!!!

Ooooerr, I'm not a fan if I have to be honest.

Anyway I'll move away from that thought and tell you about the cards I made today. They were made using this month's Designer Choice from Tonic - Luxurious Lace.

And they are the prettiest lace border dies and LOADS of potential with these.

So this is the set I used.

It's a mix of verso dies which means that you can cut your pattern into the cardstock and leave it there, like the card with the bows below, or you can add an outside edge and cut it completely out of the card,  like the rosy pink heart one above.

So for this card, I used the die shown by the arrow and cut it straight into the card a few times.
I like the pattern it made.

And for this one ....

... I cut the narrow die first so that it stayed in the card, then I cut the larger scalloped edge die below it.

And then finally

..I used the scalloped outside edge here to cut it out of the cardstock so that I was left with a border, which I then stuck onto the card.

I didn't waste the card left over either, because that's what I added to the top of the card.

I hope you like these cards and as always, I've added my affiliate links below so you can have a mooch.

Take care and stay safe and well and hugs to all xxx
