True Love

Morning peeps and a very happy Sunday to everybody.
I hope that you are all having a nice weekend : )

It’s time for our first Card Challenge of 2015 over at The Ribbon Girl blog and this week our theme is

Romance

Our challenge is sponsored by Lili Of The Valley ….

… and The Ribbon Girl

There are some absolute corkers on display today – drool worthy doesn't come close – so if you get a sec, go and have a mooch.

So …

... this is what I did.

The pic here doesn’t really show how the card is put together but basically it’s a tent fold card and a panel attached
to the first part of the hinged bit at the bottom.
Hope that makes sense!!

I stamped the sentiment which is from the Lili of The Valley SET 42 - Statements – Congratulations set onto acetate.
Instead of using ink I used a glue pad.…..

… one of these.
Then I doused it in red glitter.

I die cut various circles from pieces of card and built the card base up that way.

I trimmed the outer aperture with  15mm Venetian Red Fine Cotton Lace.
The inner one was trimmed with
15mm White Diamond Guipure Lace – both from The Ribbon Girl

The bow is made from 38mm Red Faux Silk Ribbon and topped with a Heart Shape Sparkly 2-Hole Button.
I cannot tell you how lovely that ribbon is to work with.

A mixture of Ribbon Girl bloomage here.
I used
Mixed Dahlia Raspberry Delight Flower, Darjeeling White Blossom Flowers and Sweetheart Red/White Blossom Flowers.

You may be able to see here how it’s all put together.

And I lifted up the ribbon tail up here so you can hopefully see the hinge at the bottom.

So that's it from me today. I hope that you have a fab day and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Before I go, I have to say a huge congratulations to my youngest on getting herself a new job. She is staying within the NHS which she loves and which is so important to her (as it is the rest of us)  and starts her new job on Monday. It has been a very difficult and trying time for her and her work colleagues who all do a job that not many would want to do but is important and valuable nonetheless and I know how stressed she has been over these last few months.

Well done Em – you sooo deserve it love xxx

Huggiest of hugs to all xx

A Little Busy Bee :)

Hi there sweet peeps and hope you are all OK today.

Well be careful what you wish for because today we have ……… light!!! It’s a cold one but full of nice clean white light – woohoooo. Yesterday was so miserable and this gloom really does get you down (or is that just me??)

Anyway, without further ado, let’s nip across the pond and join our friends over at the Simon Says Stamp challenge and this week our theme is

Black/White + a Splash of Colour

The DT are using products from C.C Designs this week -  you don't have to of course, but if you have them we would love to see them :)

As always, our lovely Heidi is giving away a fabulous …

… for one lucky winner to spend …

… right here :)

So ….

Picture 011 copy

… here’s me card!!

This super sweet image is…

Picture 015 copy

…  CC Designs  Honey Bee-Trice and she is so cute – even if she does have a bit of glitter in her hair (ooops!!)

Once again I gave her the Tim Holts Distress Inks  treatment (in answer to Marianne’s question, the inks I use are the pads chick which I dab onto some acetate and pick up the ink from that – hope that helps).

These are the colours I used -

Skin - Tattered Rose & Vintage Photo
Cheeks - Worn Lipstick & Tea Dye
Hair – Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Wild Honey & Rusty Hinge
Clothes – Pumice Stone, Black Soot, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade & Wild Honey

I’m still practising with them lol!!!
I wonder if I will ever go back to
Copics now?

Picture 014 copy

The papers are Bo Bunny Crush and Bazzill AVALON 6 x 6 Paper Multi-Pack

Picture 012 copy

 Picture 013 copy

And that’s the card all done peeps.

If you get a sec, nip over and have a look at the DT cardage – wowwza  :)

Thea’s little nose is looking much better and she seems non the worse for her ordeal – I just had to go and see them last night as I was worried about her (yes I know I am a soppy old sod but they are my world those kids). . She was all pink and rosy from her bath and smelled gorgeous – oooh I could eat her!!!

Kyla is getting super excited about tomorrow as it is her birthday and she will be 7. I say it every year but I still cannot believe we have her. That child was a gift to us I am sure, and she has brought us so much joy. Well they are all gifts really  and it really is a shame that not all parents see them like that. It makes me so sad when I see them giving their kids a slap for the most silly things (I saw one do that once because her little one of about 2 had dropped her sweeties – errr what????). She is having her party this Sunday – 10 pin bowling with 19 of her little pals – ands we are just having a little birthday tea on the actual day. She doesn’t know it yet but on Friday, Em is getting her from school and they are going straight to Manchester to see The Lion King. We’re going in Feb so she can give me all the info :)

Right I better go. I'm typing this early and I haven't had me brekkie yet so the old tum is starting to rumble. Have a fab day and I’ll see you soon as soon.

Huggiest of hugs to all xxx

(bright and zingy alert btw peeps!!)  ….

Picture 001 copy

... this is what I did.

I LOVE the sunny colours here – really cheery.

They are courtesy of the delish papers from this …

*Bo Bunny 12 x 12 ALORA Collection Pack CPA449

Bo Bunny 6 x 6 ALORA Paper Pad

Aren't they fab!!!

As I said before, the DT this week are showcasing the new Simon Says Stamp exclusive dies and I’ve  used 2 on my card.

Firstly, I used this  …

*Simon Says Stamp ALLEGRO CORNER Craft DIE S106

Allegro Corner Die

I cut 4 and put them together with the corners pointing to the inside.

Picture 005 copy

It makes a lovely pattern and it doesn't matter if the corners don’t meet in the middle because the sentiment panel in the centre covers it up.

The bloom was made using ….

*Simon Says Stamp BELLA BLOOM Craft DIE S103

  .. this Bella Bloom Die.

    Picture 004 copy

As always, I cannot leave well alone and stuck little spots of grey onto the petals, really just to pick up the colour from the paper. But it makes them look a but funky I think.

Picture 002 copy

Picture 003 copy

So that’s my card and if you get a sec, nip across and check out the challenge and also what the other girlies have been up to :)

I’ll be back soon as soon so until then, have a great evening and huggiest of hugs to all xxx

This Card Is Just Like Me :)

Picture 005c copy

Good morning lovely peeps and I hope that you are all okay today.
It's the middle of the week and time to nip across and check out what's been happening at the
Simon Says Stamp Challenge, and this week our theme is

Clean and Simple

So a bit like me really!!!!

As always, the lovely Heidi is giving one lucky winner a whopping ….

… to spend ….

… right here :)

The DT are showcasing LA LA LAND and LAWN FAWN stamps this week and there are LOTS of amazing stamps and stamp sets to choose from! PLEASE check out the huge selection at Simon Says Stamp Superstore!!!

Of course you don't HAVE to use LA LA LAND or LAWN FAWN stamps to join in but if you have them we would love to see them used :-)

So ….

Picture 006c copy

… this is what I did.

I really love this colour combi - it always looks striking and even though black is a dark.colour, I think when it's used with plenty of white, it somehow manages to look clean. Sounds weird, but I hope you know what I mean lol!!!

The image is by La-La Land and is called Heart Balloon Marci. I coloured her with these Copics -

Skin – E000, E00, E11,  E21, R00, R20

Hair – E42, E43, E50, E51, E81

The rest – Black, C04, C07, R02, R05, R17, R27, R59

And the paper is from the Bo Bunny Crush 6 x 6  paper pack.

Picture 004c copy

Where would I be without  me SAFMAT Self-Adhesive Printing Film!!!

I love using it because you can add text directly to your cards and it's practically invisible.

Picture 007c copy

The punched mat is made from  the Martha Stewart PATP Deco Fan Shells set btw :)

Picture 008c copy

So that’s me done for today.

This card is actually for somebody and I need to get in the post tonight, even though it's late already!! I won’t say who it's for but to be honest, if I’d sent it to her on time, she would probably have fainted with the shock and we can’t have that!!!!

So take care me darlins and I’ll see you back here tomorrow.

Have the fabbiest of days and huggiest of hugs to all xxx.

Not Like Me At All!!!!!!!

Good morning loveliest of peeps and I hope that you are all OK today.

Before I get onto today’s card, just a couple of things to tell you. Firstly I’ve been asked how long the baby jumper should be. Well mine is 26cm from the edge of the bottom rib to the top of the neck. But I guess that if you are using 4mm needles and DK yarn, then it’s going to be in the right ball park and if it’s bigger or smaller then it really won’t matter because the babies will all be different sizes.

And once again, hugest of thanks to everybody who has emailed me and  who is busy knitting away for these little souls  or who is tooting away on their blogs or forums for me – mmmwaaahhhh to every single one of your fabulous peeps xxxxxx .

And just to remind you that there are still a few days left to enter Mary’s Ribbon Girl Sparkly Easter giveaway ….

… so if you fancy winning this beautimous pack of goodies, nip over and check it out me darlins )

Righty-oh then it’s  back to today’s card and it is of course my card for this week’s Simon Says Stamp Challenge and out theme is

April Showers Bring Spring Flowers

This week the Design Team are showcasing Bo Bunny and/or Basic Grey products so if you have either of these two products, we would love to see them in your projects this week but if not, please come and join us anyway !!

As always the lovely Heidi is giving away ……

…. a mahoosive voucher which one lucky girlie will get to spend …..

Simon Says Stamp

.. right here in the store.

Now for a change, I thought that I would not use an image for this card which isn't like me but I do like to try different things for this challenge and I think it’s good for your creativity.

So this……

Picture 001c copy

… is what I did.

I used a Bargello technique which is easy peasy to do and a great way to use up any little scraps if paper you have left over. The papers I used are from Bo Bunny’s Crush Collection and this is how I made it. -

Firstly, cut up strips approx 22mm from your 6 x 6 pad – for this I used 5 different patterns

Glue them next to each other onto a piece of paper or card and make sure that all the edges line up

Now turn your paper through 90 degrees and cut strips that are 22mm wide. You will now have strips with little blocks of patterns on them

Now glue these onto another piece of paper or card and stagger them so that the patterns are really mixed up  - hope that makes sense.

I then trimmed this so that I had a piece that was  4 squares  x 5 squares

And that was then matted onto red card and then again onto black card.

By playing around with more strips or different patterns, you can get some lovely effects. If you want to see this technique  in more detail,  Split Coast Stampers have a great tutorial – you can see it here.

Picture 004c copy

The big bloom was made using the largest Spellbinders Rose Creations dies  (I love this set of dies) and I popped a brad in the centre which you can just about see!!!!

Picture 005c copy

A bit more detail for you :)

This technique is much easier than paper weaving I think!!

Picture 002c copy

Ooops, the flower is sort of folded in so you can see the white underside of the paper in this shot.  You can see that I used my fave Magnolia leaf and swirl die … just for a change and soooo not like me lol!!!!!!

Picture 003c

And that’s the card all done.

I’ll be back tomoz with my usual sort of card ie one with an image and coloured with Copics no doubt and also another Blast From The Past which I forgot last week - doh!!! So I’ll see you then and have a fab day.

Huggiest of hugs to all xxx
