Picture 005c copy

Morning sweet peeps and what a lovely Spring morning it is here in Chester. The sun in shining and the birds are singing and it’s gorgeous:)

And speaking of gorge, I am so pleased to tell you that on the third Tuesday of every month now, I am having a oh so fab candy prize giveaway which the lovely Mary & Andrea  over at ….

ribbon girl logo

….  have given to me .

We all love a bit of ribbon and you can’t have too much in my humble opinion. In fact I don't think I make many cards without ribbon it it somewhere. So as it is indeedy the third Tuesday of March today, it’s time for my first giveaway.

This month I thought I would be ever so predictable and go for …….

kit_fuschia

… PINK :)

So if you fancy your chances at winning this delish pink ribbon kit, all you have to do is leave your name with old Linky at the end of the post and I will draw the winner next Tuesday and the hugest of thanks to The Ribbon Girl for their sponsorship xxx

Now as it’s Tuesday it’ s time to nip over and check out what’s happening with the Papertake Weekly gang and this week it’s time for a game of Bingo and here ….

bingo march 2012

… is the card.

If you get a sec go and have a mooch cos as always the DT have made some fab stuff to share with you.

I also mentioned a sneak peek and today is the first day of the sneak peeks for the brand new Lili of The Valley release which will be on sale on March 28th.

So here ….

Picture 001c copy

… is one of the brand new never seen before images.

It’s  called Patchwork Butterfly and how sweet is that little poppet bunny!!!  I coloured it with these Copics-

B0000, B000, B00, C00, C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, R85, RV0000, RV00, RV10, YG0000, YG03

The papers are what I had left over from the Tulip pack I used the other day.

I went for the centre line across on the bingo card,   ie ribbon, free and punched shapes.

The ribbon is the same  15mm gingham that is in the Ribbon Girl giveaway kit and the punched shape I used was made from a  Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch. As for the free, well it had to be my new toy, the Martha Stewart PATP Deco Fan Shells set.

Good old Martha :)

Both punches are from Simon Says Stamp.

So that’s me all done.

Ohh did you guess right re the killer in Corrie then?

I have to say that I sussed her out ages ago. They don’t call me the Miss Marple of Saughall Village for nowt peeps!!! I assumed it had to be a minor-ish character as none of the main ones were seen to be leaving.  I did consider the new girlfriend at one point  but my money was always on Mummy Dearest' Foster. Shame she didn’t take silly Sally and even dafter Kevin with her – what a pair of twerps  they are (see, I think it’s real!!)

And what about poor old ‘Hev’ in Easties?  It’s been a bad week for death in Soap-land!! In fact, if you consider John Barton in Emmerdale as well, it’s been a bad year all round so far …. and we are only in March!!!!

Anyway I better go (and get a life by the looks of it) and I’ll see you tomoz.

Take care and have a fab day and huggiest of hugs to all xxx

What’s Happened To Her Hair??????

Picture 006c copy

Hi there peeps and Happy Friday to all xxx

Today over at the Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge, it’s the first one of the year and the turn of Team B

This week it’s our Special Monthly Challenge with the theme of

Anything Goes

and there is an option of  Happy New Year and/or use something new on your project.

There is a fabulous prize as well …..

of a Simon Says Stamp $25.00 voucher.

So …

Picture 001c copy

… I went for a new stamp.

I used one of the Tilda’s from the new collection. She is very sweet but I am not sure that I like her barnet like that. This maybe because I have bad memories of having a similar hair do when I was a teenager – more later!!!

So old curly Shirley here was coloured with Copics in these colours -

Skin - E000, E00, E11, E21, R11, R20

Hair - E35, E41, E42, E43, E50

Clothes etc - BV0000, BV000, BV00, BV02, BV04, E41, R11, R32, R85, RV0000, RV00, RV10, RV29, YG03, YG95

The papers are from the Oh The Possibilites Collection over at Nitwits

I had a fiddle with the bloomage here and it’s a bit mix and match which I kind of like.

The main flower is for a Marianne Design Creatables die but I don’t know which one (doh!!) and this was topped with a rolled flower. Then I threaded a small ivory aster through a small paper flower and added some 5mm closed rosebuds - the asters and rosebuds are from Wild Orchid Crafts

I wrapped 2 lengths of 25mm white flat lace around the centre panel to make one really wide piece – you can’t really see it in this pic – and then wrapped a piece of  15mm Heliotrope No 7 Berisford Satin ribbon round to hide the join :)

Both ribbons are of course from Mary &Andrea over at The Ribbon Girl

You’ll notice that the sewing machine was hauled out again but don’t worry sweet peeps cos  I will get bored of it soon lol!!!

The Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch which I got from Simon Says Stamp  was used because of a ‘happy accident’ in the corner.

It  wasn't the only ‘happy accident’ on this card – the image was matted onto some lilac card and I stitched the edges,  but made a cods of it so it was trimmed down  and now has no mat behind it nor any stitching!!!

That accident wasn’t happy at all :(

So there’s the old card done.

Now why I have got a bit of a downer on old Tilda’s frizz then?

Well, it’s because of these here ….

sa1085

… they are the Hair Bear Bunch,

When I was just into my teens, I had very long hair, past my bum, and I pestered my Mum to let me get it cut into a feather cut, which she reluctantly let me do (she cried when it was chopped off, aww). Anyway a year or so later it had grown a fair bit and I then decided that I wanted a curly perm – very Kevin Keegan!!!. And bless her, she let me have that as well. I liked it for about 10 seconds and realised it was a big mistake, but I brazened it out and went to school the next day feeling slightly concerned about what my friends would think. Well the girls were fine – they must have felt my pain, nay shame lol!! But the boys had a field day – they were so nasty and they kept calling me Hair Bear. I didn't know why, but then I went and found out and have to say that they were right – cry cry :(  I was the one on the left  btw lol!!)

Anyway I was mortified and ended up so unhappy with it that my poor Mum paid for me to get it straightened again (or relaxed as they called it!!). I will never forget sitting in that hairdressers for ages with this gunky stuff on my hair which smelled of depilatory, puke bluh!!!

So on that lovely note I’ll say toodle pip and see you soon if not sooner.

Have the fabbiest of weekends and hugs to all xxx
