When Is A Tree Not A Tree????

Hi there sweet peeps and hope you are OK today xxx

it’s that time of the week when we head across the water and catch up with our friends over at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge and this week our theme is …

Merry Christmas

wooohooo, it’s nearly here!!!

This week we are showcasing the very wonderful SIMON SAYS STAMP EXCLUSIVES .  If you have them we would love to see them but it's not compulsory to use them if you want to join in :-)

As always, our lovely Heidi is giving away a fabulous …

… for one lucky winner to spend …

…right here (lucky girlie!!)

So ….

copy copy copy

… this is what I did.

The title of the post today is when is a tree not a tree and the answer is when it’s a star!!!
It could even be a snowflake as well :)

I used this die here ….

*Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember™ MOD TREE Craft DIE S127

.. which is a Simon Says Stamp MOD TREE Craft DIE and I just cut 6 out, chopped off a bit of the trunks, glued them together in pairs and arranged them to make a star (or snowflake) shape.

copy1 copy

The centre is made from part of a Simon Says Stamp BELLA BLOOM Craft DIE.
I have to say that this is such a quick and easy card to make and put together and is perfect for posting because it is quite flat :)

 Picture 002 copy

 Picture 003 copy

It does have somebody’s name on it but I can’t say who!!!

Now if you want a treat, nip over and check out the challenge because the cardage is amazing. I mean,.it is always fab but I think today that the girls really have done justice to these wonderful dies and there are loads of ideas there for you to feat yer peepers on!!!

So that’s me done for today but I thought I’d leave you with another bit of Chrimbly hittage and this is another one of those that gets played whist I am doing the sprouts etc on 25th. And yes it is another one that will get me dancing around the kitchen!!

I am not really uncool, it’s just at Christmas when it all seems to go out of the window. The rest of the year I am well and truly down with the kids!!!!

Right enjoy the super talented Mike Oldfield and I’ll see you soon as soon.

Hugs to all xxx

Mind Yer Retinas Girlies (And A BFTP To Get The Toes Tapping!!)

Picture 006c copy

Morning lovely peeps and hope you are all OK on this nice Spring day :)

Today over at the Lili’s Little Fairies Challenge it’s all about

Transport

so time to dig out those LOTV images and seeing as fairies have wings and they are a form of transport, it’s fine to use your fairy stamps too :)

We are sponsored by the one and only The Ribbon Girl and this ….

kit_blue

.. is what’s up for grabs :)

Now bright and bold coming up peeps so watch those eyeballs!!!

Are you ready ….?

Picture 001c copy

See, told you.

A blind man on a galloping horse wouldn’t miss this would he lol!!! It’s as bright as bright could be,  but I love it.

I used Birthday Fairy and coloured her with these Copics -

Skin – E000, E00, E11, E21, R00, R20

Hair – E43, E50, E81

The rest – E25, E29, E35, E50, Y00, Y02, Y15, Y17, Y38, YR04, YR68

And the papers are from the FQB - One Birdie Lane Collection from Nitwits :)

Picture 005c copy

There’s a bit of good old Tilda Lace.

And the double bow is made from 15mm Gold Yellow No.37 Berisford Satin ribbon from The Ribbon Girl

Picture 004c copy

A little arrangement made from beautiful bloomage from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I feel like I haven't used these flowers in ages as I seem to have been punching and die cutting the little beggars recently!!!

Picture 002c copy

Picture 003c copy

So that’s the old card done and I hope your eyesight is still intact lol!!!

Now for this week’s BFTP and it’s another happy clappy toe tappy sort of thing this week. It also features Kate Pierson who was on here with old Stipey chops  last time but this week she’s in her own band.

Have you guessed yet?

Ay, it’s one that gets us all up dancing (or maybe that’s just me). I cannot believe this one was originally released in 1989 – jeez I feel old thinking about that.  I have happy memories of dancing round the kitchen to it with my 2 when they were younger. Poor kids – they must have longed for a normal mother that wasn't singing her head off and boogieing about the place every 5 minutes.  And I think I told you about our Riverdance shenanigans. If I didn't, I will one of these days.

We did have a laugh lol :)

So be happy and get your dancing boots on cos it’s time for a bit of Love Shack.

I’m bang bang banging on the door and the front porch is glittered as we speak.

Awesome!!!

Have a great day and huggiest of sunny hugs and see you tomoz xxx

Twisting My Melon Man!!!

   Picture 003c copy

Hi there lovely peeps and happy Saturday to y’all :)

I’m a day late with the old card because I had to take his Lordship for physio and it took longer than we thought and  then we got ‘Kyla’d’  so it all sort of went out of the window yesterday.

So anyway this is my card for this week’s Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge and this week our theme is

Springtime

We are sponsored today by the best ribbon gals in the biz and of course I mean …

.. so nip across and have a mooch if you get a sec :)

Picture 001c copy

So this is what I did.

I went for Spring colours and thought I’d do something different from my usual 6x6 and so I went for a twisted easel card. Well twisted was about right because they are the easiest peasiest cards in the word to make,  but I simply  cannot take a decent pic of them to save my life. By the end of it my lot were very nearly calling the cops because I was quite frankly incensed with it lol!!!

So apols lovely peeps  :(

I used Watercan Tilda and coloured her with these Copics -

Skin -  E000, E00, E11, E21, R00, R20

Hair – E42, E43, E50, E81

The rest – C00, C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, G99, R85, RV0000, RV00, RV10, YG0000, YG00, YG03

The papers are all from Nitwits .

Picture 006c copy

I used a Magnolia Lovely Fence Die and chopped it up … like you do!!!

Picture 002c copy

The butterfly was made using 2 Memory Box dies.

The bottom layer is Darla Butterfly and the top is Vivienne Butterfly. They look nice together I think and these dies cut like a dream. All the dies here today are available from Simon Says Stamp.

The beautimous bow was made 38mm Pink/White Striped Grosgrain from The Ribbon Girl :)

Picture 004c copy

Ohh this pic is dreadful.

So much cloning going on in the background to hide the paper joins that it looks filthy, cry cry!! But hopefully you can see how it is all set up.

Like I said,  taking these pics really was twisting my melon and majorly!!! . So I thought that I’d share a bit of melon twisting  Happy Mondays with you seeing as it’s Saturday and the lovely Miss Marcea does her Music Saves My Soul thing today. So I’ll leave you with a very young Sean Ryder and if you get to about the third minute you’ll see a very young Bez  complete with shed loads of specs (why??? who knows – not even him I suspect!!) strutting his stuff.

I love Bez and I’ll let you into a little secret here …. many moons ago when I was a fair old bit younger than I am now, I used to do a very good Bez  impression when I’d had a few!!!!! Truly it must have been a sight to behold (not)!!

I tried to teach Kyla to do the freaky dance thing when she was about 2 but she just used to look at me like I was completely off my rocker :) Mmm well she may have had a point there!!

So enjoy the Mondays, even though it’s Saturday - at least we got the ‘happy’ bit right!!

See you next week  loveliest of peeps and have the best weekend.

Huggiest of hugs to all xxxx

     Picture 005c copy

Morning sweet peeps and what fabulous weather we are having at the mo!!
It was like a summer’s day yesterday and today is looking like more of the same – wooohooooo :)

So before we do anything, I have to let you know who won my ribbon giveaway – the post is here – and that
lucky girlie is ………………………………………..

Doc2

Well done to you and if you email me your deets,  I’ll pass them on to Mary & Andrea and hugest of thanks to them for a beautisimous giveaway xxx  Thank you also to everyone who took part and there will be another one next month :)

So what do we have today then?

Well it’s  Tuesday so it’s Papertake Weekly time and as it’s the last one of the month, it’s sketchie time  as well.

And here …..

sketch #66

… is the bad boy. We’re sponsored today by Heidi over at …..

Simon Says Stamp

Simon Says Stamp so if you get a sec, nip over and have a moochio :)

Picture 001c copy

And here’s the old card and I’ll be popping it on ebay later on :)

I’ve done another sneakie peekie of one of the new release – not long now girls – and this one is called Close Your Eyes.  It’s ever so cute :)

It was coloured with Copics in these colours -

Skin -  E000, E00, E11, E21, R00, R20

Hair – E25, E35, E43, E51, E81

The rest -  E25, E29, E35, E51, G99, R85, RV0000, RV00, RV10YG0000, YG00, YG03

and of course the papers are all from Nitwits.

Picture 004c copy

I got these gems from the NEC on Saturday from The Hobby House – absolutely bargainous peeps!!!

I also thought I’d add a bit of  Magnolia Lovely Fence Die for no other reason than I just love this die. You can get it from Simon Says Stamp of course.

Picture 006c copy

I did the inside of the card to match the front.

Picture 002c copy

Picture 003c copy

And there you go.

Well what a fab time we had at the NEC on Saturday. I went with my Nikkie and we had a good old bead shop :)

All we have to do now is make something with them lol!!!

I love going  to the NEC but not for the shopping.  For me, the best bit is catching  up with lovely peeps who started out as blog buds and ended up as friends, and  we had a very nice lunch in Wetherspoons.  A highlight this year  for me was finally getting to meet Mary & Andrea from The Ribbon Girl. and they are both every bit as nice as I imagined they would be. The usual gang were there including Kim Piggott and her gorgeous daughter Claire who had a good old non crafty chat with Nikkie, my cyber twin Kath (love ya Mrs K xxx) ,  Heather (who looked fab following her illness last year) , Jo, Tab and Kim Dellow.  Thank you one and all for a super couple of hours xxx  MIA though were Mummy Fairy Jacqui and Chris Dark  but hopefully next time girlies cos I really missed you xxx

Well did you see the final of DOI then? Not a shock that Matthew won cos he was pretty awesome.  I did feel a bit sorry for Chico when he nearly dropped Jodeyne – that could have been really nasty!!! But that’s it for another year and I do hope that for the next series they replace Christine Bleakely – talk about smug!!! It may be me but Phil doesn’t seem to have the same chemistry that he had with Fern or Holly.

So now it’s  time for BGT.

Ohh my life, what about that young lad then? It actually made me cry when he sang.

If you didn't see it peeps, here’s a little clip …..

.. is he amazing or what!!

And you just know that he’s had a hard time of it because of his weight so if he ever was bullied – and to be fair, it didn't say that he had been but I did wonder -  then it’s one in the eye for them now isn’t. I’m sure that this kid will do really well.

Right I’m off to get some work done and then later I am baby sitting Miss Kyla cos Emma has parents’ evening. She wanted to come with us on Saturday but my nerves would not have stood it – I’d have been terrified of losing her.  I had to drop her off bright and early so we missed the baking thing but I’m sure we will make up for it next week.

Have a fabulous day and see you tomoz and huggiest of hugs to all xxx

Here Comes The Hot Stepper :)

Picture 006c copy

Hi there me darlins and hope you are all enjoying this lovely Spring day today :)

It’s that time of the week when we head on over to good old Papertake Weekly and see what’s happening, and today we have one of our

Anything Goes

themes for your with the option of adding something shrink plastic. I bet loads of you have a pack of it somewhere in your stash, so why not get it out and see what you can do with it. Of course, you don’t have to peeps if you don’t want to cos it is only an option :)

We have a fabby voucher from Lili Of The Valley up for grabs so if you get a sec, check it all out :)

So ….

Picture 001c copy

… this is what I did.

I went for something a bit different from my usual 6 x 6 card base. I used one of the gorgeous Elegant Step Card blanks  which the lovely Paula from Which Craft UK sent me to have a play with. They look like you’ve spent hours on your card but in fact they take very little work and you end up with something quite special I think.

The image is one of the new Lili Of The Valley releases -  she is Dainty Dancing and very sweet indeedy.

I coloured Miss Twinkle Toes with these Copics -

Skin – E000, E00, E11, E21, R00, R20

Hair – E42, E50, E81

The rest – E81, RV0000, RV000, RV00

The papers are from the Grin n Bear It collection from Nitwits

Picture 004c copy

I used the Magnolia Doily Flowers from Simon Says Stamp to make this bloom and topped it off with one of those pretty little pink two tone blossoms from The Ribbon Girl.

Sweet :)

Picture 005c copy

This is where the shrink plastic comes in.

I punched a heart (oooo errr!!) from the plastic then coloured it with Copic RV00 and then shrank it down.  Then I attached it to a double bow made from cream vintage seam binding and topped it off with another blossom.

Picture 003c copy

3 things here which I love a LOT -

Ivory pleated Satin ribbon, topped with some cream tiny ric rac, both from The Ribbon Girl and a bit of paper lace (no I won't do the Billy Don’t Be A Hero thing again!!) made from my well used and much loved Tilda Lace Die from Simon Says Stamp

Picture 001c copy

I’ve had a pack of doilies for years.

My mum gave me them a long time before she died (and that was in 2003!!). I knew I had them but could not finds them in the general melee that is my craft room,  then whilst looking for something else, I found them!! So they got the glitter treatment round the edges – you can’t really see on the pics – and on one went!!

So that’s today’s card done peeps and I’ll be back tomoz with my Simon Says Stamp card.

Here, have a little sneakie peekie ……

sp

… now I wonder what image that can be lol!!!

Well did you see DOI on Sunday?
Thank the good Lord that Chico listened to me and sorted his wig out. Talking of  hot steppers, he was a bit ooooh la la and raunchy-o wasn't he (if you missed it I’ve put the YouTube thing on for you :) so today we’ve had Dainty Dancing and a bit of Dirty Dancing as well (shocking, Miss Piggy!)

Now I have to say that in no way do I find him attractive. He is far too oily and smarmy for my liking, BUT his little bootie shake at the beginning was a sight to behold and he clearly looks after himself cos you don't get a bod like that by eating cream cakes and sitting on your butt watching Jeremy Kyle all day.

Clearly that is where I am going wrong.

I have to confess that I do watch JK  but only to see if there is anybody on there with a full set of teeth  :(   I sometimes watch it whilst eating cream cakes as well sadly, which explains a lot!!!

Anyhoos I thought Sunday was fab – especially the team bits near the end. The girls got my vote but I did like the old YMCA thing as well. I have to fess up that Louis Spence is growing on me cos I didn’t used to like him but he is quite funny in his own way!!  I still can’t pick a winner this year although I’ll predict a Jorgie / Matt final.

So I’ll be off on that note but I’ll leave you with Chico-time and his ‘Sexy And He Knows It’ bit (and check out his ‘sexy’  kex!!!).

Enjoy your evening and huggiest of hugs to all xxx

Woooo-hoooooooo :)

Picture 006c copy

Morning loveliest of peeps and a very Happy Saturday to y’all today xxx

Well I thought I’d scheduled my post for yesterday but being true to my dopey dozy self, I hadn't – doh, ya pillockess Dawny!!!

Anyway it’s nice to be in the Land of Blog on a Saturday even if I am now 2 days late with this post. Talk about away with the fairies. And actually, that’s where we are heading right now,

So over at the Lili’s Little Fairies Challenge this week. it’s all about

Afternoon Tea

and it’s quite appropriate today  as me and my Kyla have been baking this morning – as we do most Saturday mornings – and although the cakes are made, she had to dash off to her swimming lesson so they are un-finished at this moment.  But we will indulge ourselves in a spot of afternoon tea later and before they disappear, I’ll do a pic and share with you. Bless her, she is quite a good little baker :)

Anyway enough of the boasting granny bit, here …..

Picture 001c copy

.... is my card.

I used Cake Glorious Cake ( I quite agree!!)  and gave her the  Copics treatment as follows -

Skin -  E00, E000, E11, E21, R00,  R20

Hair – E42, E43, E50

The rest – E41, E43, E50, r RV0000, RV00, RV10

If I did this again I would add a bit more colour to the skirt and shoes as they looks a bit wishy washy. But hey ho!!

The pretty papers are all  from Nitwits

Picture 005c copy

Gorgeous colour this – it’s 16mm saddlestitch ribbon from the lovely Mary & Andrea over at The Ribbon Girl. I topped it off with a sparkly button :)

Picture 002c copy

Picture 003c copy

So there’s the old card all done – better late than never.

I noticed that my fab friend Miss Marcea has her Music Saves My Soul post on today so I thought I’d  join is seeing as I’m about lol!!

The reason I chose this one is because it  was the Brits this week and one of my fave bands were featured so this song was in my mind. It’s  one of my fave Blur songs ever ever EVER and I have loads of memories of jumping about and singing this very loudly in an ever so slightly drunken state (surely not I can hear you cry!!).

Well it’s true I’m afraid –but  it’s truly awesome, as am I when I’ve had a few!!!! .

So enjoy me darlin’ peeps, feel heavy metal and let’s hear those woooo-hooos :)

The vid is a cracker and isn’t Mr Allbran a bit of a tasty treat too.

See ya soon and enjoy your weekend and huggiest of hugs to all.

Woooo-hooooo xxxxx
