.. this is what I did and as always, on Simon Says Stamp challenge days, I like to do something a little bit different.

So just basically a white card with a touch of silver here – easy peasy top do but it look really stylish (IRL it’s really pretty but I could not get a decent pic of it - I cannot photograph white for some reason!!)

I’ll list the shop proddies that I used at the end and leave you to enjoy the (not very good) pics lol!!

Well I Never!!!!!

Hi lovely peeps and hope you are all OK today.

It’s that time of the week when we head across the water and catch up with our friends over at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge. And speaking of water, well there is quite a lot of it about in our village at the mo– more later!!!

So this week our challenge is ….

Anything Goes

so time to get creative and maybe try something different or maybe just to indulge and use your fave stuff :)

The design team have created some awesome projects for your inspiration, and this week we are all featuring October Afternoon  products. Of course, you don't have to use them to join in but we would love to see them used if you have them :-)

As always, our lovely Heidi is giving away a fabulous …

… for one lucky winner to spend …

…right here.

So …..

Picture 001 copy

.. this is what I did.

The papers are from the October Afternoon 8 x 8 HOLIDAY STYLE Paper Pad ….

*October Afternoon 8 x 8 HOLIDAY STYLE Paper Pad PP752

.. this one here.

They are gorgeous and have a real olde worlde feel to them.

 Picture 006 copy

The image is of course sweet Tilda and is one of the latest Magnolia release. I coloured her with these Copics -

Skin – E0000, E000, E00, E11, E13, R00, R02

Hair – E31, E3, E34, E34, E39, E50

The rest – E31, E34, E35, G99, E50, R05, R17, R17, R59, Y00, Y11, Y21,  Y28, Y38, YG0000, YG00, YG03, YG23,

My fave holly die in the whole world :)

It’s the Tim Holtz Sizzix HOLLY BRANCH Die – I LOVE this die and use it lots at this time of year (thank you Lord Timmy xx). The berries are punched dots covered in Glossy Accents  and sprinkled with glitter.

Picture 005 copy

Ohh yes, another fave!!

The good old swirl from the  Magnolia leaf and swirl die set. And the border is made from the Memory Box SANIBEL BORDER Craft DIE. I like this border because you can use the positive and negative cuts and they are both equally as fab.

Picture 002 copy

So that’s the old card done.

And now for the watery bit as per the beginning of the post!!

Our village is flooded.

It is prone to a bit of flooding because we are on a high water table. But it has rained almost solidly since Sunday afternoon here and as a result, we have ……………

 Picture 013

… a little mini river where the lane usually is!!!

What these pics don’t show (cos I didn't have me wellies on and I wasn't risking a soaking by going any further) is that it continues around the bend to the right of the pic for about 150 years.

 Picture 010

I’m not sure how deep it is but I reckon it’s at least a foot – maybe more at the edges.

I drove home though this last night and there was a cyclist on the pavement just around the corner.  There was nothing I could do and he got soaked from my car. I felt awful and just held my hands up to him and mouthed apologies but I didn't dare stop in case I got stuck. I bet he was cursing me all the way home.

My poor Nicola came here last night and rang me from the other end of this lot because she was terrified to drive though it as she didn’t know how deep it was or if it would damage her car. She drove though it eventually after watching other cars and just tried to stay calm, bless her. But she went home a different way as she wasn't going through that lot again in the dark!!.

Late last night, the tractors etc were out pumping the water away but these pics were taken this morning so after they did that - it’s horrendous.

Thankfully we can get out because there is another way out of the village near to our house. And there is an old railway bridge between this lot and our house so unless it gets REALLY bad ie 20 feet or so which is  highly unlikely, the water won’t get too near to us.

Picture 012

You could be forgiven for thinking that this is a lake, but it’s actually one of the fields near here – totally under water.

Picture 003

This field is usually full of cows but they have been moved, natch - not enough wellies to go around!!!.

 Picture 004

So that’s it for today.

I am going to brave the elements later on (what a hero!!) and go and get some stuff to make home made soup. I may even light the fire as well – assuming me nutty slack isn’t waterlogged!!! Not that it’s particularly cold, but it just makes us feel a bit better!!!

Then I’ll draw the curtains and I aint budging for the rest of the night!!

Hope you are all nice and warm and dry and I’ll see you soon as soon.

Huggiest of hugs to all xxx

A Verrrrry Cute Lil Pair :)

Picture 005 copy

Hi there sweet peeps and hope you are all OK today.

Don’t come too near to the screen cos I have the dreaded lurgy and I don’t want you to catch anything lol!!! It’s nowt serious, just a dose of man flu really, but it’s made me feel quite yukky and my poor throat feels like I’ve been gargling with broken glass – ouch!!! So it’s going to be a short post today then I’m off back to me bed again :(

But for the minute,  enough of my tales of woe cos it’s time to nip over and catch up with Papertake Weekly and this week it’s all about

Things That Make You Go Awwww :)

So if it's sweet or cure or even if it’s inspirational, then we want to see it.

There’s a fab prize from The Stamp Fairy plus some fab DT cardage so if you get a sec, nip over and have a mooch )

Picture 001a copy

So this is what I did.

I used Ice Skating from  the recent release from Lili Of The Valley . I coloured it with the following Copics -

Skin – E0000, E000, E00, E11, E13, R00, R02

Hair – E39

The rest -  B0000, B000, B00, B005, B93, C00, C2, C3, C4, C5, E31, E33, E34, E35, E39, G21, G94, G99, N00

The papers I used are from the Nitwits Petal Fresh  8x8 paper pads from Lili of The Valley :)

 Picture 004 copy

Some rather yummy stuff from The Ribbon Girl here.

Royal Peacock Seam Binding, some Natural Button Twine and an Aqua Small Striped Button to be precise, and the sweet tag is from LOTV Christmas Sentiment Tags Set 32

You’ll notice that the dynamic duo of Magnolia-liciousness is in residence ie the swirl bit of the leaf and swirl die set and some Tilda Lace :)

Picture 002 copy

Picture 003 copy

So there we are all done and on that note I‘m off.

But please come back tomorrow because I have a card that is really different. Here, have a quick sneaky peekie before I go  ……

Picture 008 copy

… plus we will have the winner of last week’s Simon Says Stamp challenge and someone is going to be verrry happy and it could be you ………………….. :))))

Have a fab night and huggiest of hugs to all, sniff sniff xxxxx

I Quite Like This One!!!!

Hi there peeps and hope you are all OK today. Please excuse the very drab and uninspiring post title but I could not for the life of me think what to call this today!! Suffice to say that I made a card that I quite liked – that’s it really (sad isn't it!!)

It’s that time of the week when we nip over to the jolly old US of A and catch up with our friends over at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge

Before I get to the old cardio, just a quickie to let you know that we are running our annual  Children's Holiday Challenge  ….

…. and we already have some truly wonderful masterpieces,  so if you  know any crafty little bods ages 2-16 years old, why not get them to enter (Kyla you are NOT using my Copics!!)  It’s an Anything Goes theme so they can really get creative, and we would love to see what the little sausages do. PLUS there are 2 fabulous prizes up for grabs :). If you click the pic above it will take you to the right place on the website or you can read all about it here.

Right onto our challenge this week which is

KRISTINA'S INSPIRATION

This is a photo which has been done by Simon Says Stamp's very own Kristina Werner.
Kristina is super inspiring, sweet as can be and uber talented and she is the one who gets to choose what goes into the
Monthly Card Kits that Simon Says sell, plus she designed some stamp sets that can be purchased through the card kit and also in the store separately. But if that wasn't enough she is the designer of the exclusive dies that we featured last week. So all in all, she is one very talented girlie indeed :)

And this ….

… is the inspiration photo we have all used this week - it’s of her gorgeous kitty cat, Mannie, aww:).

The DT have all featured Basic Grey products but of course you don't have to use them to join in. But we would love to see them used if you have any.

As always, our lovely Heidi is giving away a fabulous …

… for one lucky winner to spend …

…right here.

So …..

Picture 001 copy

.. this is what I did.

I used one of the new Turning Leaves Magnolia stamps – this is Tilda With Daisy & Mushrooms and I’ll do the close up and colours I used in the next pic.

The papers are all from the Basic Grey Little Black Dress  6 x 6 Paper Pack

Picture 005 copy

I’ve really fallen in love with colouring again after Claudia's class and these are the Copics I’ve used  -

Skin – E0000, E000, E00, E11, E21, R00, R02

Hair – E15, E31, E33, E34, E35, E37, E50

The rest – C00, C1, G99, E43, E50, E81, R02, R05, R17, R29, R59, W00, W1, W3, W5, W7

Picture 004 copy

Oops of the little gems has slipped here :(

Slap dash Phillips strikes again!!!

The little blooms are cut with the 3 smallest dies from the Spellbinders Rose Creations set. I found some tiny red sequins in my stash and popped them in the centre before I (badly) adding the gems.

Picture 002 copy

2 of my old faves have put in an appearance as well – the good old Tilda Lace Die and Magnolia leaf and swirl die (minus the leaf bit – poor thing always gets left out!!)

Picture 003 copy

So that’s the old card done and if you get a sec, do nip and check out the challenge peeps and also the amazing cardage for the DT. Till next time have a fab day and huggiest of hugs to all

And finally, well done to our two girlies this morning - our first gold and all that is left to say is ….

… come On Bradley Wiggins – you can do it !!!!!!!
