Thanksgiving Greetings

Here in Canada we celebrated Thanksgiving on October 12, where we celebrate the harvest, and being thankful for everyone in our lives.  In the United States Thanksgiving is celebrated in late November, and while it is also about being thankful for the harvest and people in their lives, they also celebrate the history of the pilgrams that settled in their country.  This card that I designed uses the Pilgram Girl image from KLM Digital Designs.  I printed the image on to Copic Xpress It cardstock, then colored it with Copics, with a touch of gold ink on the sentiment that is also from this image.

Welcome Fall

Fall is in the air here in British Columbia!  We have brought in all of the tomatoes, and I am slowly cutting down the perennials in preparation of winter slumber.  Yesterday I planted about 80 bulbs of various spring bulbs, and still have about 80 to go in the ground!  Yes I went a little crazy buying bulbs!!
To celebrate the season I have colored up the Pumpkin Girl digital image from KLM Digital Designs. I printed the image on to Copic Xpress It cardstock and colored it with Copics.  Some older Kaisercraft paper finished off the card.

More Advents

Christmas season is fast approaching, and last year I did several advent calendars to celebrate the season.  Here's photos of two of the advent calendars I made last year.

The first version features a bird and his home, while the second one features an older Hallmark ornament of Santa.

Loved making them and I hope you enjoy looking at them!

Casey

Have you ever purchased an image, then when you get home you were not sure why?  This image is one of those, but when I finished coloring and putting it all together it has quickly become one of the favorites.   So welcome Casey to my post for One Crazy Stamper.

This gorgeous image is Casey from Saturated Canary.  I colored her with Copics to match the gorgeous paper from Kaisercraft, then paired it all with denim and burlap ribbon, and some older Prima flowers with micro bead centers.  Hand drawn stitches finish off the card front.

Countdown has begun

So today I have something a little different to show you for my One Crazy Stamper blog post - this is one of three advent calendars that I completed last month for friends and family.  I apologize for the poor quality photo, but I needed to get this one delivered before the end of November so that it could be mailed out, and as usual I didn't finish it until the last moment.

The base of the calendar is an older Kaisercraft kit, that you assemble and then decorate with your choice of paper, ink and embellishments.  After painting all of the pieces I choose dp from Simple Stories Cozy Christmas collection to decorate all of the boxes and the sides of the calendar.  All of the edges were inked with  Versafine Vintage Sepia, then the fun began.  I used a mix of embellishments to decorate the individual boxes including ribbon, brads, charms, buttons, Tim Holtz Idea-ology Countdown Charms, while the center scene was built with Tim Holtz bottle brush trees, and a bird bath ornament.

Sweetheart Birthday

Has the month of March come in like a lion or lamb where you live?  The forecast for this weekend is cold, cold, cold with more snow, so I would say that we are expecting the Lion to start the month off, and then hopefully the lamb will quietly end the month.
A new month means a new challenge at One Crazy Stamper and once again we are asking for your ANYTHING GOES projects BUT with a twist - your project must feature a Whimsy Stamps image!!

My Whimsy Stamp image features one of the newest artists to join the Whimsy Stamps team - Time for Tea Designs - and is entitled "Sweetheart".  The image was colored with Copics, then fussy cut and placed on dp from Kaisercrafts Botanical Odyssey collection.  Prima roses add the finishing touch.

Another Advent Calendar Done!!!!

I finally finished the second version of the Kaisercraft Advent calendar, and as promised last week, here's the photos.

This version is for my son who loves winter outdoor sports, so I used Bo Bunny's Powder Mountain collection of paper with a white and blue theme.  The center features a gnome ornament holding on to skis, sitting on snowballs - you can't get any more wintery than this!!  Here's a close up of the center -

My First Advent Calendar

A few months ago I bought a Kaiser Craft advent calendar kit ( or two ), and I finally took the plunge to put it together.  While the initial prep work of painting, cutting, and pasting is time consuming, the final project is worth the time and effort, don't you think!!!

The paper I used on this advent is from Kaiser, while the embellishments are all from my stash.  The deer is a Tim Holtz die, and the trees are from a local craft store.
Here's a couple of close ups of the details -

Now I'm off to finish another calendar with a totally different look - keep watching for photos of that version.
