I stopped selling unicorn horns back in early 2012 because: a) - I ran out of stock, and b) - people wrote and complained that it was hurtful to them as it suggested violence towards animals. Since I feel I've cleared that matter up and fans are now happy with me selling unicorn horns again... I've just made them available again at my online Pixie Dust Miniatures shop!
Handmade by myself in one inch scale with great attention to detail, you can find these horns for sale here.
And if you'd like to read a little more about unicorns and the project they were for, don't forget to follow my 'Caroline blog' or better yet, the Facebook page here!
Here are some magical fairy tale photos to get you inspired when creating your own magical miniature setting. The witch that lives here had gone foraging on a warm summer morning, bringing back jars of moss, oak leaves, toadstools from fairy rings and unicorn horns which she found in the woods... see below...

My Workspace - Taking Magic by the Horns
Have another glimpse inside my creative space.
It's been a great day - I fell asleep really late watching 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets' whilst waiting for my bf to come home from work last night - woke up early and decided to venture out and not spend the entire day inside breathing in clay oven and superglue fumes. Took a bus over to Lyall Bay (close to where my bf works at Weta) and met him for lunch by the sea in a brilliant little cafe called Maranui which is a Maori word meaning 'long sands'. (I love Maori culture!)
It's September 5th of course, but it is technically spring here so it's more like March 5th. Great day, if a tad windy.
When I got home I finished off these unicorn horns because I've actually been out of stock since Sept last year if you can believe it?! These are a refined design and I am putting some in my own handmade fairy baskets which I finally finished making last week.... they'll all be available at my online Pixie Dust Miniature shop verrrrrry soon. One inch scale, but I'll make some in half inch as well if people want it. ;)

A pinch more magic - Unicorn Horns
I don't think anything is more magical or wonderful than a unicorn. I used to believe in unicorns when I was little and looked for them in the copse behind my house. I loved two films which featured unicorns (and which made me decide to have a career in the film industry!) and they were 'Legend' (1985) and 'The Last Unicorn' (1982). The unicorns were as stunning as the ones in the MediƦval tapestry series 'The Hunt of the Unicorn' (made between 1495–1505) except in the film 'Legend' the unicorns didn't have the traditional lion's tail, but a horse's tail instead. Nevermind.
Now unicorn horns are obviously an essential magic to have to hand in the witch / wizard or sorcerer's spellroom. Handy for stirring spells and whatnot. So here are some 1:12 (one inch) scale unicorn horns (also available in 1:24 - half inch scale).
They have a hint of gold about them. Very carefully handmade without the use of molds and they also glow in the dark.
They are available at my online shop here

'Legend' (1985) starring Tom Cruise and Mia Sara

'The Last Unicorn' (1982) with the voice of Mia Farrow

'The Hunt of the Unicorn' (1495–1505) - this is one of the 7 tapestries in the series showing the unicorn captured.
