Recent Finds

Recent Finds Jan to March 2017
Due to my blogging neglect, I have not checked in with my recent purchases.  During the first three months of 2017, I only purchased 8 items.  Yes, 8 items?!  I felt pretty good about myself.  Honestly, I ran out of hangers and had to come to terms with the fact that I am a dress hoarder.  In an effort not to wind up on a reality show, I've been pretty aggressively selling on Poshmark.

Lilly Pulitzer January 2017 After Party Sale Haul

Lilly Pulitzer

I woke up early the morning of Lilly Pulitzer's After Party Sale to get in that virtual line.  I really need to learn that it's not necessary.  The line got stuck and I had to get to a meeting, so I wound up not being able to shop until lunchtime.  And I realize that my early morning scramble was in vein as there were plenty of sale goodies left with I finally got in.  AND...Lilly was a little tricky this year and was adding new items throughout the day!  So here is what I got...and what I call a whole lot of restraint.  I guess real restraint and responsibility would have been not to purchase anything and deposit that money into a savings account.  But, my savings account isn't florescent and patterned.

Isle Cardigan (Orig. $138, Paid $49)
Sally Fit & Flare Dress (Orig. $198, Paid $64)

Black Friday Purchases

Black Friday Purchases 2016

I am happy to report to did most of my Black Friday shopping from the comfort of my own couch.  I shopped Anthropologie, Bloomingdale's, and Benefit.  I ventured out into the world in order to shop Bath & Body Works and TJ Maxx.  I snag Bath & Body Works' VIP tote every year because it's chock full of goodies for just $25 (like $115 worth of product, plus the tote!). It makes a great secret santa gift.  I also popped into TJ Maxx because I heard they were majorly restocking their Runway section.  While I didn't find any new arrivals I was willing to shell out the cash for, the clearance rack was bursting with beauties.  I was able to pick up a dream item of mine: a Diane von Furstenberg wrap dress!  And for only $60!

What great sales did you shop this weekend?

Junie Striped Cardigan: Anthropologie (Orig. $118, Paid $55) (similar)
Diane von Furstenberg Savannah Wrap Dress via TJ Maxx (Orig. $320, Paid $60)
Bath and Body Works: $25 VIP Tote with Purchase
Kendra Scott Aiden Necklace: Bloomingdale's (Orig. $85, Paid $53)
Bigger and Bolder Brows Kit: Benefit (Orig. $34, Paid $27)

Look What I Got: July and August Purchases

July 2016 Purchases
After looking at my July purchases, I realized I spent quite a bit of time inside malls this summer.  In fairness, most of my mall shopping happened on a short trip to Las Vegas in July...where it is too hot to be outside for more than a few minutes.  So, to me, the mall(s) seemed to be the perfect place to cool off.  Also, in Vegas it appears to be perfectly acceptable to carry a drink around the mall with you, which may have led to most of my Vegas purchasing.

July Purchases

August 16 purchases
I'd say that August was a sparse purchasing month and mostly consisted of burning off some unused Just Fab credits, but I would be lying.   And in full disclosure....the totals below do not include my Lilly Pulitzer After Party purchasing...wherein I spent more than I'd like to admit.  But, since I have a blog where I apparently plaster things I don't like to admit on the internet, I spent $442 at the After Party Sale.

August Purchases

What to Buy at Labor Day Sales (& a link up!)

What to Buy at Labor Day Sales 2016

I have a little secret.  I buy most of my Fall clothing at end of summer sales.  I very rarely buy clothes in season (i.e. pay full price like a sucker).  Many of the Labor Day sales include items that came out as part of this new invented season of pre-Fall and items that just transition nicely into Fall and Winter.  So, here's a list of items that I intend to snag cheap this weekend!

1. Cardigans.  Somehow sweaters always make it into summer collections.  Maybe it's the proliferation of male-controlled office air conditioners that has led to the cardigan becoming a summer style staple?  I'll be snagging a few of these $20 cardigans at J. Crew Factory this weekend.
2. Denim.  Jeans have no season.  Get them while they're cheap.  These Madewell jeans are almost 50% off!
3. Pencil Skirts.  Pencil skirts are timeless and season-less.  I think I might add a green one to my collection.
4. Boho-Style Items.  Boho-style was everywhere this summer.  However, I've always thought the boho look wa sa little more conducive to Fall.  I think it's the color scheme.  Free People dresses are especially great for Fall if you just add some leggings and booties.
5. Work Dresses.   I tend to stock up on work dresses, which tend to be in the suiting section of the store, at the end of the summer.  A black dress is a black dress no matter what time of year you purchase it!
6. Neutral Shoes.  A pair of black pumps always makes it's way into a Labor Day sale.  Take advantage.

Lilly After Party Sale Haul (& linkup!)

Lilly August 2016 APS sale haul

If you're unaware, Lilly Pulitzer hosts one of my favorite sales twice per year: the After Party Sale.  Twice a year, Lilly offers up tons of goodies at crazy prices ranging from 30% to 60% off.  The sale often includes styles that are hard to find on other websites (like Elsas and popovers).  The second sale of 2016 was this Monday and it did not disappoint.  The sale starts at 8am and you have to get on the site right at 8am or you could miss out on a coveted item.  This year I was ready...pulling up the Lilly site on my laptop and the app on my tablet and iPhone.  I am a bit of an overachiever.

I scored some items I had been lusting after, like that Marlowe dress for just $39!  However, I did not read the fine print and later found out that Lilly was adding new items on a second day of the sale.  This had never been done before.  I was a little too excited on the first day and over-bought slightly.  Because the second day had SO MANY items I had been obsessing over...Luxletic printed leggings, a Captain popover, and a crop and skirt set.  If you are not a Lilly lover, these words are meaningless to you....so just enjoy the above pictures of pretty clothes

I may be selling a few items once they arrive due to my over-buying.  So make sure to check my Poshmark Closet if you are interested!

Check out my HAUL!

Elsa Top in Oh Shello ($69)
Skipper Popover in Multi Out to Sea ($64)
Scarf in First Impression ($39)
Marlowe Dress in Iris Blue Werk It ($39)
Essie Top in Hibiscus Stroll ($24)
Parfait Crop and Skirt Set ($79)
Captain Popover in Via Loca ($59)
Luxletic Crops in Into the Deep ($69)
