Nirvana Mixed Media Cards by Peggy Lee on MSD Blog

Hey everyone it's Peggy Lee here
sharing with you a couple of
Nirvana Mixed Media Cards!
over on the Marion Smith Designs Blog, here!
The other day I had some free time and I decided to do some creative play...
and mix it up with Kraft card stock.
I used the Nirvana paper collections and stamps by Marion.

I grabbed a stencil and drywall tape with gesso to create background
texture. Stamping and splattered of glimmer mist makes my heart sing!!
My favorite part was getting to play with Marion's new Bloom Impressions Tool,
brown packing paper and a flower punch...I really love how the tool makes
the paper flowers cup to give great depth.

Here is a video by Marion Smith sharing with us how to use
The Bloom Impressions Tool

My Hero "Father's Day Card" over on Artsy Addicts Blog

Good morning everyone it's my day over on the Artsy Addicts Blog today
sharing, with Father's Day upon us soon in just a few
short weeks...I wanted to share with you all one of my cards.
I used a stamp set called "My Hero"!
Started with a white card base.
Stamped the airplane in chocolate ink (second generations stamping).
I also fussy cut out the images from the Skylark paper packet...
Inked all the edges with chocolate ink.
I popped up the images with tucking the banners to give
depth to the card...like the banners are flying.
As I type this blog post I remember my father who has been gone
for  many years...I so miss him, love him more deeply!!
I try to share memories of him with my daughters, telling them stories
that he would share, songs he would sing....
I believe even though he is not with us, He Is!
Thanks for stopping in today,
hugs

Relaxing Play

My friend and I like to relax on a Sunday afternoon playing, creating and mixing it up in her studio. With having so much fibro pain lately I wasn't  sure if I would even be able to play today. But I was feeling pretty good so I knew that I need to keep my creating easy and relaxing so I turned to a little mixed media. Still needs a little touches but I think it turned out pretty good. I am so ready for spring and decided to draw a few flowers and of course a little bumble bee was stopping to smell the beauty.
Water coloring with Twinkling H 2 O's and water color pencils, adding some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Graphite for shading. Along with some stamping to help add texture. I am not totally done with this art piece yet but it's pretty to me.
I will say it was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. I encourage you to look around your stash and see what you have created with in a long time and dive in.

Snowflake Poinsettia Wall Hanging-CTMH

That's right you heard me right-"snowflake poinsettia flowers"!!! Last year I created 6x6 layouts in blues and greys with this beautiful snowflake stamp set #D1480. So when I saw in the New Close To My Heart Autumn/Winter Idea Book this snowflake stamps-stamped in red on page 88, I was so excited.
Who'd ah thought snowflakes as for flowers what a wonderful idea...I knew I had to give this a try and I am so please how this little wall hanging came out.

The base chip board and papers were cut from our new Cricut Artiste Collection #Z1790, also the frames and snowflakes were cut from our last season Cricut Art Philosophy Collection #Z1686 (which is a must have in your collection).
Poinsettia's-are snowflakes stamped in CTMH cranberry ink #Z2116, Pear & Partridge Paper Packet #X7162B, Sentiment is Merry & Bright Stamp Set #C1510 also stamped in CTMH black ink #Z2105. All edges are inked with CTMH chocolate ink #Z2111, embellished with Opaques Adhesive Gems Mocha #Z1333.  Non CTMH  items used were Ranger's Distress Stickles rock candy, and tulle.

Ribbon hanger is  CTMH cranberry color which you can purchase on my website in the "while supplies last" section it's on clearance...what a deal...www.peggyleebaker.ctmh.com

I found this old picture of my girls way back in Christmas 1999, boy have they grown.
 Memories
Hope you start to enjoy your Holidays with some CTMH scrapbooking/stamping supplies.

Scrap Journal

This past Friday I had a small surgery (no surgery is small when they knock you out) but with healing I haven't been able to play for the past few days, I couldn't stand it any more I need to get my hands inky. I told myself OK Peggy you only have about 1/2 hour before the pain sets in...lol
So I decided I wanted to create my first page in my scrap journal, see over on face book there is a group called Keep On Scrappin and it's about creating a simple notebook style scrap booking, using only scraps  and bits... I said OK only use what is in front of you. That was leftovers from my dreaming of spring project. This is what I came up with for my first page.
Step 1- gather a simple notebook, gesso the first page while it was still tacky I sprayed glimmer mist and distress inks, then ran my wet brush over it all to smooth out the colors. Added some script stamp.

Step 2-look and see what scraps were laying around and I had one full sheet of Marion Smith's digital page left with strips of some other pages (small strips of torn paper love), inked the edges and of course distress the edges of all paper with edge distresser or you can use a pair of scissors.

Step 3-found this cute picture of my daughter Olivia and our cat sitting in my scrap room enjoying the warm sun that shines through my bay window (I love this picture).
Step 4-embellishment and wow you would be amazed at what I have just laying around on my table, old scrabble book pages so I had to add a doily die cut from Ranger. The flower is created out of old dryer sheets and sprayed with glimmer mist, the leaves are a piece of lace trim that I just cut apart so love that trim.
I was so amazed at how easy and simple it was to create a layout just using scraps, bits and pieces just laying around my table. Don't wait jump in your scrap room and create a layout just using what is on your table, you will have fun-be free-don't over think it-just create!!!

Supplies:
Marion Smith Feb. digitals
gesso white paint
Tattered Angels glimmer mist (jazz blue, tutti fruitti)
Ranger's Distress inks, stains (brushed cordruory, walnut stain, picket fence and walnut stain stain)
Tim Holtz Distress Doily die cut
CTMH Stamp-script
baby wipe flower (colored with tumbled glass stain), trim lace
