If you came here from Natassa Blazaki  you are hopping along....welcome!

Let's get started with my Fall project.... An Altered Paper Pumpkin Canvas!
I knew I wanted to create a paper pumpkin, I grabbed a couple of the
to create the paper pumpkins...I love the old wallpaper feel
and florals with hints of old text.

I first started with a hand drawn template onto chipboard, cut out a
base template and then the pumpkin template pieces.

Here is a closer look at the 7Gypsies Architextures papers cut out in
paper pieces. To help give depth to each piece I used Vintage Photo
in Distress Ink to distress the edges of the paper pieces.

I glued down the outer edges of the paper pumpkin pieces, and to
give depth to the pumpkin I popped up the middle piece to help
give pumpkin life and movement.

Now onto the canvas, I started with The Crafter's Workshop
White Gesso painted on a few layers to prime the canvas.
I do love how this Gesso goes on so smoothly!

I went into my scrap drawer I gathered up a few paper scraps of 7Gypsies, as well as Tissue Stock Kraft and burlap  by Canvas Corp
Using up your scraps and fiber leftovers to create
beautiful backgrounds for your canvas art is a fabulous way to add texture.

Next I grabbed a few stencils and TCW Light and Fluffy Modeling Paste
placing them in a few areas over the canvas. Allow to dry.

After the canvas dried completely I started to give the canvas layers in color using Tattered Angels glimmer mist is a ray of colors. Please forgive me I was so into painting the canvas I forgot to snap a photo to share with you....oops! Once the canvas was dry I lightly brushed over the stencil patterns with Gesso to add highlights. Then I used a charcoal pencil to give shadow and depth to the canvas and around the pumpkins after I adhered the pumpkins to the canvas. Here is a  close up paper pumpkins on the canvas. I hope you have enjoyed my Fall altered paper pumpkin canvas.

Farmhouse Style- Windmill Wall Decor Distressed with Tattered Angels & Tutorial

Do you love the farmhouse style? I sure do, but sometimes wall decor
can be pricey. I knew I really wanted a windmill wall art piece and
I knew I could create one. I gathered up supplies and my favorite colors
of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists and got creating. Here is a simple tutorial
for you to follow along with me. Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy.

Tutorial

Creating the pattern panels
I hand drew my own pattern, but there are patterns/coloring
pages to use online just pick one that you like.
Next I traced the pattern onto chipboard and cut it out (I did 7 panels).
Now glue the chipboard panels down onto tinfoil (yes you heard me right TINFOIL).
It's amazing what you can create with chipboard and tinfoil together.

Once you glue the chipboard to tinfoil cut around the chipboard
panel leaving a 1/4 inch boarder all around.
Wrap the tinfoil around the chipboard with glue.
Next I covered the back with piece of tinfoil to fit.

Dry Texture: Embossing

Grab your favorite embossing folder and carefully run the
chipboard panel through the embossing machine.
I had to run it through a couple of times to cover the whole panel
I love how tinfoil looks embossed.
Sand down the top of the chipboard panel after you emboss it, this will
help the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist to stick to the tinfoil.

White wash the chipboard panels with Gesso or white paint.
(white wash-brush on paint and wipe it off with a baby wipe, etc.).

Tattered Angels Time

Now onto the FUN PART-Coloring with Tattered Angels
Glimmer Mist. Canvas Corp Brands has a ton of beautiful colors of Glimmer Mist
for you to choose from. Follow this link to the Canvas Corp Brands Shop, grab
your favorite color of Tattered Angels Glimmer mist

Coloring the Panels

I started by spraying the lightest color down first and worked out to the darkness.
Now it's a good idea to let the mist pool together and blend...dry in between the
layers of glimmer mist...you don't want mud color to happen.
I think I sprayed and painted with a brush to help move the color,
I used a heat tool and paper towel to dry and dab off the excess of color.
(I used many different colors of glimmer mist, you can use two or four colors. It's
really up to you and the look you are going for.)

Here is what the windmill panels look like once the glimmer mist
is dried. I just love the old time feel it gives using tinfoil.

The windmill blades needed more texture so I grabbed a few
embossing powders and I added a few layers over and over.
Sanded down the melted layers to take away the shine and
give tooth for the glimmer mist to hang onto.

Here is a photo of the back of the windmill to
help give depth on the canvas I added chipboard pieces
 around the windmill.

I created a backdrop onto a canvas using chipboard strips
cover with wood grain pattern papers. Distress edges with
Oxide Ink-Walnut Stain..glue down, off set the paper slats.
To give the faux wood grain look to the background.

After the windmill was attached to the canvas and hung
on the wall I could step back and see where the piece
needed more texture. I used Metallic-Rubs-ons colors brushed
onto with my fingers, highlighting the textures to help bring them out.

Loving the textures....

The Canvas Corp Brands Creative Crew 2017!

I'm excited to share again that I am part of this
amazing design team for another year!
Canvas Corp Brands is made up of 3 great
brands-7Gypsies, Tattered Angels & Canvas Corp!

You can check out this amazing showcase of the
New Canvas Corp Brands Creative Crew over on the

Here is my 4x4 Canvas Art piece to announce
me as a part of the Canvas Corp Brands Creative Crew member.
I'm a little shabby chic, rustic, vintage kind of gal,
let me walk you through my creative process.

I am drawn to chippy white treasure, old books, textiles and my
favorite vintage mother of pearl buttons!

I started with Canvas Corp 4x4 Canvas it's a great base
to start your creative project. I took Gesso paint added
strokes of paint here and there, then took old book pages
ripped them into small pieces and glued
 them around the canvas.

I need texture so I added crackle paste allowed it to dry,
then using Tattered Angels glimmer mist sprayed them
over the cracked paste which allows the glimmer mist
to settle in the cracks giving depth.
I added some cheese clothe, 7Gypsies lace trims and
Canvas Corps burlap cut piece to gather
under the main focal piece.

"Butterfly Tag" embellishment!
I started with Canvas Corp Butterflies on Ivory Cardstock,
I cut out on the butterflies and colored it with Tattered Angels
Glimmer mist. It's like watercolor painting
it's really fun you need to try it.

To create tag I gather a 7Gypsies-Gypsies Moments
Recipe card, added some thread and adhered the colored
butterfly cutout with only glue in the center
 to give the wings lift.

Hope you have enjoyed my walk through,  I'm so excited to be
apart of the Canvas Corp Brands Creative Crew for another
design team term...now be sure to follow the Canvas Corp Brands Blog
for amazing inspiration and stop by the Canvas Corp Brands Shop

Canvas Corp Brands & Dare 2B Artzy Blog Hop

Thank God it's Friday, so why not end  your week with a blog hop!
Welcome crafty peeps I am so excited to be hopping along with Dare 2B Artzy Canvas Corp Brands! It was fun to dive into box of goodies (that was picked for me) and be free to create whatever I wanted! Totally a challenge and fun one to boot! So let's get CREATIVE...

Blog Hop Details
Today we are sharing projects from the CCB Crew Members: Erin Reed, Martha Lucia Gomez Hernandez, Me and Nadine Carlier on the CCB blog.  You will find all the details to win a great prize of stamps and inks from Dare 2B Artzy and a $25 gift card to the Canvas Corp Brands Shop over on the Canvas Corp Brands Blog.

I created an Altered Shadow Box called "Perspective"
cause an art piece will bring different perspectives
forever changing from eye to eye.
Just like butterflies and flowers change so does our perspective.

"Perspective"
Altered Shadow Box

I was so excited to work with the stamps, dies, papers and color mediums with this project.
That when I saw this amazing TA Mixed Media Origins paper with the butterflies on it. I knew I wanted to create a shadow box with butterflies, flowers images. I first stamped, colored and cut out all the images and then the embellishing began (my favorite part)!
I love all the details in my little shadow box, hope you enjoy it as much as I do...

I was thrilled to see that the Dare 2B Artzy Clear Stamps had
matching dies to go with their amazing stamps.
I first started with stamping and coloring the images with
TIP
(I used the back of Canvas Corp's thick pattern card stock)
which stamps and takes inks/water colors amazing!
Step 1. Stamp images with archival black ink.

Step 2. Let the fun begin....color your stamp images
(blot ink pads on a craft mat, add water
to your paint brush pick up ink and color images).

Step 3. With your paint brush dip in the Tattered Angels Shimmer Water Colors
It's a great way to color stamp images with
different mediums great mixing for shadowing.
Back Drop
In my box I also received the new TA Mixed Media Origins papers..."wings"!
I knew right away I wanted to water color it and
use it as the back drop in the shadow box...as well as fussy cut out
the images to give a 3D look! Love this paper!

Altered Shadow Box: Canvas Corp Brands

While all the stamp images dried from the coloring...
I started on the 7Gypsies Shadow Box,
I took vaseline and wiped it here and there over the shadow box
and pop out frame.
Then covered it in Gesso white paint when paint was dried
 I wiped off the vaseline
it creates a distress look...FABULOUS!

In my goodies box I got the tiny canvas's 2x2 stretched natural canvas's
I painted with them the vaseline and Gesso
technique also...adhered to the shadow box pop in frame.
Even adhering one tiny canvas's backwards with
distressing the fibers of the canvas and
tucking in a TA Shimmer water color flower. LOVE!
