Petrol and Mint: Nova

Three years ago, when I was expecting baby girl nr. 3,

I used this fabric to sew a Lua sleeping sack.

Now this toddler is almost three years old,

so time to make her a little summer dress with the remaining piece of fabric.

It is a vintage - Dutch obviously - canvas.
Just perfect for a Nova dress with classic box pleat.

To make it even more fifties, I added a bright white peter pan collar.

The pattern has a lot of options, and as usual when sewing StraightGrain "stuff",

I learned a new trick to make my sewing life easier.

It is available as a pdf or paper version,
and both in Dutch as well as English!

This one is the dress version, but there's also a top option, four different sleeves

and a bunch of pleating styles. Curious?

my backyard is sort-of a permanent construction site...

so always a mini-mountain of white sand available for the kids to play in -

and for me to make pictures...
