Team Fortress 2 (TF2) is the sequel to the game that put class-based, multiplayer team warfare on the map. The game delivers new gametypes, a signature art style powered by Valve's next generation animation technology, persistent player statistics, and more. Unlike other "class-based" games that offer a variety of combat classes only, Team Fortress 2 packs a wild variety of classes which provide a broad range of tactical abilities and personalities, and lend themselves to a variety of player skills. Play as the flame-throwing Pyro, the room clearing Heavy, or the Spy, a master of disguises. Other classes include: Scout, Sniper, Medic, Engineer, Demoman, or Soldier.
Team Fortress 2 was first included with the release of Half-Life 2's Orange Box. Now, each game from that pack is available as its own boxed title for gamers to pick and choose their favorites.
One thing that always impresses me about Valve is its ability to surprise everyone every now and then. SteamBox was a doozy, but that's not all. I'm still contemplating Bad Medicine, the Souce Filmmaker short that won the Best Drama award in Valve's annual Team Fortress 2 Saxxy Awards. Has the Medic committed suicide in an effort to find peace or is he just higher than a giraffe's hat? If you checked my time spent in games from last year, you'd note that I spent the most time with two games: Team Fortress 2 and The Binding of Isaac. I never expected to play one within the other, though.
