What's that? The last 29063 x 3872 panoramic Total War: Rome 2 screenshot we provided just didn't do it for you? Well, fine -- have two more eye-wateringly detailed screenshots, this time heralding the announcement of Carthage as a playable faction.

You'll want to click to embiggen these babies. And then you'll desperately want to be able to zoom in again, because there's an insane amount of detail going on and how can you possibly eyeball it all with your mere human eyes? This is clearly where cats have the evolutionary advantage.

It's kind of amazing that such field-encompassing, epic-scale battles can be zoomed in to this level. Those soldiers don't look like awkward clones, and the amount of love that's gone into this from the developers is pretty evident -- look at those realistically blood-spattered shields. The subtle differences in the dents on their helmets. That one soldier in the corner who's looking you straight in the eye, with an expression that's all "Don't let me die, brother." Rome 2 is shaping up awesomely. Hopefully more development studios will look at this and see just how glorious their work can be when they stick exclusively to the PC platform.
