Drilling bullets into the enemy and commandeering all sorts of futuristic vehicles in PlanetSide 2 has been really memorable so far... and now Sony Online Entertainment is planning to tweak the experience of, er, gaining experience in a new patch coming out at the end of the month.

Over on the Sony Online Entertainment blog, creative director Matt Higby outlines all the additions and changes being made to the PC-exclusive darling of the shooter world. It's a long list, but there's a special emphasis on tweaking the XP system. Additionally, there's the introduction of SMGs to all empires, and measures are being introduced to make new spawn spots "less campable."

Higby also teases at a six-month update plan that, apparently, is being built around the requests and feedback of the PlanetSide 2 community. Neato. The LU02 patch is getting released on January 30th. The GameSpy review rated the MMOFPS highly, so it's great to see the developers continuing to hone an already great experience with these new fixes.
