Diablo co-creator David Brevik at the helm, an isometric action RPG, a full roster of heroes from the Marvel universe, and a story by comic scribe Brian Michael Bendis. As a gamer and comic nerd, Marvel Heroes is checking all my boxes. The question now is, how does it play? A select few will get to find out soon, because Marvel Heroes is now accepting applicants for its closed beta.

Posting in the first Marvel Heroes developer blog, Community Manager Stephen Reid announced that applicants are now being accepted for an upcoming closed beta.

To register, simply create a Marvel Heroes account. All those who do will receive an email from Gazillion with a survey. Reid said that closed beta testers will be selected based on the types of games they play and their experience beta testing. No word yet on when the actual beta will begin.

If you don't see an invite in your inbox over the next week, there is another way. Gazillion said it will be handing out closed beta keys (in limited numbers) at this year's New York Comic Con, which is set kick off on October 11. If you make it to NYC, I recommend you dig up your old Hulk costume to improve your odds.
