With Mists of Pandaria and Borderlands 2 so close, it seems kind of absurd to take on yet another online game -- which is why I'm guessing that a free weekend in Rift may be a ruse to lure in older players rather than newer. So a new update is on its way to Rift within the week. I imagine it seeping across Telara's terrain like spilled paint, playing host to strange summer parties and happy, dancing noobs. You know that feeling of "holy crap this place is huge" you get when you load up a new MMORPG? Prepare to double that feeling in Rift. In the upcoming Storm Legion expansion, two more massive continents will be added to the already huge world. Yes, that means the world of Telara will triple in size. That's nuts. Dragon gods the size of office buildings that live in active volcanoes and are on a first name basis with mountain spirits are cool and all, and the fact that up to 20 players will be able to party up to take them on is fantastic.
