Nothing wrong with a bit of entrepreneurial spirit, I always say. That's what all that treasure is for, after all. No point trying to be different. In fact, you should embrace it. And that's where I come in. Let's get you set up with a money-making enterprise in Skyrim, something to bankroll your adventuring for in-game decades to come. Here are the Skyrim mods that will make you flush with Septim, or at the very least help you rake in coin at a more efficient pace.

Gold Crafting, Tax Edition

Why scavenge for gold when you can make your own?

Before we get down to the real profit-machines, we need to get a little starting capital. Which is where Gold Crafting, Tax Edition comes in, allowing you to melt and smelt your gold ingots into gold coins, and vice versa. Gotta make money to make money, I always say. There is a slight cost in the production, with turning ingots into coins only netting you 80 Septims, whereas you'll need 120 to get yourself an ingot, but that's just the cost of good craftsmanship. Can't have the powers that be questioning the validity or legality of your newly minted currency, after all.

Leveling Merchant's Wallets

Business is good for everyone with Merchant Leveling.

Now it's time to add to your stacks of freshly minted starting capital with a bit of savvy mercantiling. Insert Leveling Merchant's Wallets into your Skyrim, and you'll no longer have to walk away with a pittance when you pawn your loot. The Merchant's mod increases the amount of gold that 80% of shopkeeps in Skyrim have. It's based on your level, too, so as you increase in strength and bring home ever more valuable weapons and armor, merchants will actually be able to pay you what your items are worth.

Adura's Merchant Mod

Now, with your pockets burgeoning and your accountant walking around with a large smile on his face, you can set about starting a proper business. Adura's Merchant Mod allows you to set up a stall in a few key locations around Skyrim, furnishing it with your own goods and either manning it yourself or having your Housecarl do it for you. Not only that, but you can set it up so that they can accept goods in trade, rather than just coin, so if you're looking for that rare ingredient to finish the chemical formula to turn lead to gold, you can command your employee to stay on the lookout for it.

That's no stall, that's a money making machine.

There are plans to allow you to expand your street-stall empire with player owned warehouses and inns, as well as the ability to increase the size of your workforce and set location-based prices. Until those updates arrive, you'll have to be content with manning a simple stall.

Looking forward to giving my Housecarl something to do all day. He can only polish my weapons and armor so much. Now all that's missing is a mod that enables me to set up a tax haven in Solstheim and give my Dovahkiin a Donald Trump-style combover.
