These two new gameplay videos for the Devil May Cry reboot, oh-so-casually shortened to the odd, new name of "DmC," show us that Dante is stylish. Very stylish. I mean, one of these vids is even titled the "Stylish Play Movie;" Dante's got moves that rivals catwalk models in Paris. But the overall flashiness of these videos does leave us wondering a little -- does DmC have the brains to match its beauty?

There's a whole lot of fiery punches, the slamming of enemies into the ground, and intriguingly long periods of time spent mid-air, weapons spinning like some kind of grotesque bladed carousel. The Devil May Cry series has always luxuriated in its own over-the-top, anime-esque aesthetic, but I'm wondering how this will work as a videogame -- sure, we don't often get to be this badass without the wonders of gaming, but with this sort of non-stop action I wonder if the gameplay will simply feel a bit samey and numbing after awhile? We'll find out for sure upon its January 25th release.
