I take this as a sure sign ArenaNet is ready, really ready to launch Guild Wars 2: if, by chance, you should choose the wrong Home World (server) to play on in this weekend's beta event and you're left to adventure alone while your friends party up on another server, no worries. ArenaNet is happy to fulfill your server change requests... in the frickin' beta.

There was a time, not long ago, when changing servers in an MMO was a pain in the ass. Now? Not so much. Posting on the official Guild Wars 2 Blog, ArenaNet announced that Home World selection and transfers will work in this weekend's beta event (April 27-29) just like they will work when the game launches.

Here's the deal: you can transfer to your server of choice once every seven days. Each transfer will cost you 1,800 gems, but ArenaNet is giving players 2,000 gems for the beta weekend event, so the switch won't cost you any real-world money. That's it. Happy server switching!

You can also save those free 1,800 gems to spend on other things by selecting the right server the first time. Plan ahead with your guildies by choosing now:
