Turbine announced today that it's developing and publishing its first expansion pack for Asheron's Call 2, called Legions.

Asheron's Call 2: Legions will provide players with an ambitious new storyline complete with an extensive array of new content where you will aid the ancient race of Empyreans through a classic tale of mystery and discovery.

Asheron's Call 2: Legions features a new playable race, the Empyreans, with more than a hundred new skills, unique armor, and new prestige classes. A new continent, Knorr, has been added for players to explore, where they will encounter new terrifying monsters and fight ancient evils. Asheron's Call 2: Legions also has an all-new "Hero" system so players with a level 50 character will earn hero skill credits with which they can buy new abilities and become even more powerful, or combine their powers with other players in order to wreak untold havoc on even the most dominant foes.

Apart from the new content, Asheron's Call 2: Legions will include the original Asheron's Call 2 and material from more than 20 episodic updates that Turbine has made available since its initial launch.

Asheron's Call 2: Legions is being developed by Turbine's Massachusetts studio, and is scheduled to debut in spring 2005 for the PC.
