GamersFirst is reloading cops and robbers MMO APB as a free-to-play game, and in two weeks, the world will have the opportunity to see what the studio has been working on in the open beta.

Thousands of players have been participating in the ongoing closed beta, and GamersFirst CTO and COO Bjorn Book-Larsson has announced the beta will become open to all on May 18.

And if you just can't wait until the 18th, Book-Larsson said there is a good chance you'll get in early as the studio prepares its servers for the open beta influx. Here's the lowdown:
We will progressively permit access to MOST PEOPLE (17 or older in the US and 18 or older in the rest of the world) who do two things (1) creates (or already has) a GamersFirst Account with the appropriate info and then (2) submits his/her email (matching the G1 account) at the front of the APB page (www.gamersfirst.com/apb) in the "Newsletter Signup Email form."
APB: Reloaded still has a TBA launch date, but with the open beta about to kick off, it's a safe bet we'll see the full game sometime in the fall.

Sharkey says: Cheers to GamersFirst for allowing gamers that paid for the original APB to get credits and restore characters in APB: Reloaded. I'm still not convinced this shooter is worth saving, but I am intrigued to see how it turns out.
