Age of Mythology: The Titans

Outstanding!

Great new units and tons of gameplay enhancements make Age of Mythology: The Titans a model for how expansion packs should be done. Read Review

Age of Mythology: The Titans adds a fourth culture, the Atlanteans, to the existing Greek, Egyptian and Norse mythologies. A new single-player campaign will add yet another chapter to the franchise's expansive folklore with the addition of 12 new scenarios. Atlantean players will be able to call upon the might of the Titan gods (such as Atlas and Cronus) multiple times throughout the game, and may also upgrade human units to heroes. The expansion pack will introduce 12 new god powers, 18 new human units and 10 formidable myth units to the game.

Age of Mythology: The Titans

PC Reviews | Oct 9, 2003

I've been looking forward to the Age of Mythology expansion pack, The Titans, for quite some time. I was a big fan of the original game, but there's no denying that it had flaws. This is not a review. I thought that was important to get out of the way up front. In fact, I'll say it again: This is not the review of Age of Mythology: The Titans. I make that disclaimer because I'm about to gush on what I think is a pretty amazing expansion for a pretty hot game. Read More »

Bruce Shelley Interview

Features | Aug 10, 2003

We recently had the opportunity to sit down with Bruce Shelley from Ensemble Studios to discuss development of the new expansion pack for Age of Mythology: The Titans. Shelley is well known to strategy game fans, as his career stretches from the earliest days of MicroProse where he worked with Sid Meier on games like F-15 Strike Eagle and Railroad Tycoon. These days, however, he's better known for his work on the groundbreaking Age series, including Age of Empires, Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings, and the latest, Age of Mythology. Our conversation ranged over a variety of topics, including more details on the AoM expansion, the RTS genre in general, and even the future of the gaming industry. Read More »

Age of Mythology: The Titans

PC Previews | Jul 24, 2003

I first got a glimpse of the expansion pack for Ensemble Studios' Age of Mythology at this year's E3 tradeshow. While I was impressed at first glance at Ensemble's dedication to expanding and improving on the gameplay of the original, there's always that nagging voice in your head. It's that annoying "be a professional, not a fanboy" voice that warns me to not judge a game until I've had a chance to get my greasy fingers around a mouse and test drive it for myself. That's why when I heard that I'd get a chance to meet Bruce Shelley from Ensemble and take another look at Age of Mythology: The Titans I wasn't that excited -- until I heard those magic words -- "hands-on."
