It's been more than a decade since American McGee's twisted take on Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, but don't worry if you missed out on the PC original. McGee has announced that Alice: Madness returns will include a code to download the first Alice for free -- consoles included.

Speaking with CVG, McGee said there will be plenty of DLC for Madness Returns, including different ability-enhanced dresses that Alice can wear. But that was the least of the DLC news:

"There's also going to be a pretty significant release which is the original Alice brought over to the consoles so that a person who's purchased Madness Returns gets a download code and is able to bring Alice 1 onto their console and play through the entire original game alongside playing Madness Returns," McGee told CVG.

Further details on the free downloadable Alice (has it been remastered and is it in HD?) were not provided. Alice: Madness Returns is being developed for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows PCs. The game is set for release on June 14.

Sharkey says: Nice touch. EA easily could have put a remastered Alice on PSN and XBLA for $15 as part of a promo. Nice to see the publisher included it in Madness Returns without an additional charge. And if you want a sneak peek at the sequel, check out our recent Interrogation Room feature.
