It's a good time to be a fan of sword fighting in games. We've got Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, War of the Roses, and now Blade Symphony, as spotted by Rock Paper Shotgun. While the former two are first-person "shooters," Blade Symphony seems to take the Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast route to sword fighting goodness. That means flips, dives, and flying slashes. Soon, all that goodness will be on Steam.

Focusing more on 1v1 battles than full on server-wide wars (thought it does support 2v2 and free-for-all), Blade Symphony looks rather hardcore. Which is great, because that sort of deep sword brawler is something that is missing from my life at the moment. The huge number of swords and characters looks rather interesting. Now, if they could only implement a Bushido Blade-style injury system, I'd be even more excited.

Check out the Blade Symphony official page to preorder and get in on the beta.
