industrial and modern whimsical loft

50 square meters can look enormous when there are no boundaries like walls. Brazilian interior designer Luiz Fernando Grabowsky prepared a loft installation for the Casa Cor exhibition, in Rio de Janeiro, to show how even limited footage can look versatile. Grabowsky designed a perfect flow between bedroom, living room and kitchen with dining area all in one space, with the bathroom as the only separated room. I love the industrial feel of the room with high ceilings, exposed brick walls and wood floors. Colour scheme with dominant combination of brown and orange creates an atmosphere of warmth and coziness, while the neutral white, black and gray grounds the space.

unconventional apartment

A young architect converted part of an old hospital into cozy small apartment with high ceiling. She painted wall behind sofa in dark shade of grey for more intimate corner, and placed a media shelf under gallery bed. For extra graphic touch patterned curtains are hung on both sides of the sofa. The dining table is often used for work, so there’s functional folding table in the kitchen.

elegant white apartment ** elegancija u bijelom

The reason for second all white apartment today is to show how mostly the same features can create totally different style. Here again every big surface is white, with some high gloss finishes for reflection of light. Added color is even more subtle- light grey and creamy whites -to create elegant and sophisticated ambient.

subtle hue in 31m2 studio ** suptilne nijanse u garsonjeri od 31m2

Purified interior with simple forms and only essential furniture. In small open spaces like this, kitchen should blend in the rest of the room. Backsplash is an accent wall at the same time, providing depth in the all white room. Every big surface is white creating ethereal yet cozy place for living

34sq meters studio ** garsonjera od 34 kvadrata

I have photos of this 34m2 studio in my inspiration folder for ages. Natural, cozy, feminine and sophisticated is all what a single girl needs in home. Good thing is it has the closet room, so there’s no need for additional armoire to block priceless square meters. One room is for everything, the owner didn’t want to sacrifice the bed, so she installed the curtain to hide the bed if desired.

modern family apartment in Warsaw ** moderan porodični stan u Varšavi

Great ideas, overall functionality, well used space, kid-friendly environment, positive vibrations with loads of vibrant colours...that's what I see in this Poland apartment. Measures approx 65sqm but it seems like a hundred. I bet my kids would be enormously happy in this place. And nothing would make me happy more :)

home full of energy and colour ** dom pun boja i energije

This almost 70m2 odd shaped apartment was so neglected, that owners had to demolish everything, and start with a clean slate.
As it can be seen on the plan functionality was more important than tradition. They gained space with a gallery above the bathrooms, extra light and sights with the inner windows. All white makes the apartment look brighter and bigger, as well as shiny surfaces do. The coloured mood lighting makes the focal point and it was based on their own design, using glass of various colours and LEDs.

timeless living and dining room ** vanvremenska dnevna soba i trpezarija

 Remember when I posted this timeless grey living room with yellow accents and red wood? Do you want to see the rest of the room? it is living and dining area joint in one room looking to the kitchen. no need to tell again how much I love the mid century feel.
tell me, is that the TV above the sofa?
interior design by Sarah Richardson

Japanese apartment ** stan u japanskom stilu

It's about time to share all those links I saved on my favorites bar ages ago. Today we'll enjoy this smart Japanese apartment designed based on the bento box (it's a Japanese lunch box with compartments for diferent food), as owners have many passions and needed much space to store everything that goes with them.

{stylish small} Amsterdam studio ** {mali stan} garsonjera u Amsterdamu

 You just have to love this smart little studio. It measures only 30m2 and it wasn't this functional before the home stylist came to help the owner conquering the clutter. Don't know about you, but I'm all into places like these, full of personality and living stuff. Minimalistic or cleared interiors are not inspiring for me. The thing is, how to have lots of things in your home and make them look good? all you need is a bit of imagination.
This studio is decorated with industrial seventies style in mind, and the separation of diferent living areas is well achieved yet still looking coherent - thanks to chosen colour palette. Neutral colour palette is used to unify a multi-use space. Several bookshelves served as storage for everything - for storing books in the living area, for plates and kitchen utensils, for wardrobe and shoes... So many play roles for simple bookshelf **

vintage apartment in Milan ** Milanski vintidž stan

The apartment of Lorena Masdea, architect and interior designer,  is located in a small building in Milan from the thirties of last century. Industrial warm coloured flooring, optical effects from old prints on the walls and the overall retro look is quite captivating. The focus was on adapting the interior to the lifestyle through style and color, while the renovation was reduced to a minimum. Only the bathroom is completely renovated, and with the concrete floor looks a bit minimalist.

Full of designers furniture, the space feels cohesive with the same flooring throughout that perfectly matches with predominantly white walls, accented by bold colours to define certain areas.
This apartment features some great collection of retro posters and prints as well.

Ovaj stan karakteriše smjela igra boja koje definišu pojedine oblasti kao i velika kolekcija retro postera i grafika.}

attic inspiration ** inspiracija za potkrovlje

A-mansard-loft_01 via architectlines

There is something so attractive and interesting about the attic, probably due to different ceiling height the space feels more cozy , while interesting structure of the walls and ceiling encourages creativity in decoration of these mostly small apartments with no interior walls. Once the attic was a dark and impractical for living, reserved for those who couldn’t afford better. Now this is a completely different story, with high quality insulation, large windows and plenty of natural light. Slopes of the lowest parts of space can be used for cabinets, racks, shelves or any function where there is no need to stand, like the sofa, bed or desk. The possibilities are great. Here are some pictures of inspiration ...

Evo slikovne inspiracije…}                                 read more after jump

monday home tour: hot colors for fall {jedan dom: tople boje za jesen}

After loong break due to family obligations and finishing preparations for a baby, I hope to be regular on posting again. And what's better to start with but the sunny apartment with striking orange kitchen? (I would be very happy in it)

I čime je bolje opet početi, nego obilaskom sunčanog stana koji u sebi spaja klasičan namještaj sa retro bojama i detaljima u stanu...}
